What are these? I've heard of FRGs before, but not sure what they are and what they do.

I know it stands for Family Readiness Group. Ours works with the Ombudsmen at meetings to keep us updated on command happenings and does holiday parties for kids etc. Basically it's like a support system :)

The Ombudsman and FRG are both command sponsored. The Ombudsman are your link to the ship, a way to get info to your spouse if you are hurt, had a baby, a death ect. The FRG is the social part. The people who plan the half way parties, social get togethers, ect. A way to meet other spouses off the command and get together with them.

Thanks and how do you find a FRG? Hubby is not actually "in" yet, he leaves for boot camp in March. So once I'm in I may get more of this type of info....but I dunno.:dunno
