OMG that is unbelievable....he drives like this now that he is home? Bumping cars off the road? Thank god my man isn't a driver over there....shit his driving was bad enough before he left JK. Seriously is that so they don't get sandwhiched between cars and blown up?

I talked to my friend and he said they have to drive that way because what some bombers do is try and sandwhich you so that they can blow them up or something like that. he said that is just how you have to drive , you can't be sitting ducks.

He doesn't HIT anyone, he'd be in jail if he did that, but he'll be on the highway going 70, and he'll get what seems like 2 or 3 feet to another car's bumper until they move out of his way..

UH oh I'm so sorry will he let you drive for a while while he readjusts to the roads back here at home? I've heard about others vearing from potholes because a lot of IEDs are placed there. The stressed just become so ingrained. I'm worried for my honey when he comes home

So that's really how they drive over there? That's my db's job, but he hasn't been deployed yet.

:shock dh was a driver the first time he went over there, before we were together. somehow watching that wasn't funny, because i can picture him carrying the stress of that back home. and he has driving issues as it is. :hugs hopefully your dh gets re-acclimated soon!

DH's best friend still does that, a year later. He'll see a piece of trash or something and swerve into the ditch on the other side to avoid it. :sadeyes He's finally getting to a point where he laughs at himself and is doing it less and less, but it was a huge issue for him for a long time.

:hugs to you and :goodvibes for your whole family.

:yes

A girl in my biology class told me that she does the same thing... road debris scares the hell out of her and she was deployed like 3 years ago or something.

Some of hubby's most serious panic attacks have occurred because of something that happened on the road, whether it be something blowing across the road, or someone cutting him off, or something sitting off to the side of the road. I know how you feel.

That is how my best friend drives. He was a gunner on humvees and tanks over there and now he does the same thing, gets up behind them and zips around and speeds up to 90 mph when he gets an open stretch of road.

It's kind of a catch 22... I drive like a normal person, so I terrify him..

I know how you feel!!! I dont find it funny either. Every time we go somewhere its a race to the drivers seat to see who gets to drive. Believe me we look like two little kids calling shotgun!
