View Full Version : What are YOU Doing..... Ellen 12-04-2007, 01:46 PM To increase your credit score??? jamie~lynn 12-04-2007, 02:02 PM Paying off my credit card! Rachael 12-04-2007, 02:04 PM trying to keep my credit card balance under half of what is available. Jill 12-04-2007, 02:05 PM When you pay everything with cash you dont have to worry about credit scores!:P Dave Ramsey taught me that. Now I just need to find all that cash:hehe Becca 12-04-2007, 02:06 PM Paying the bills. We were utilizing our credit and paying it off every month, until we started shopping for Christmas :lol April 12-04-2007, 02:06 PM nothing :dunno our credit card we pay off every month so I guess that helps. pay my student loan on time, not get anymore credit anywhere? I dont actually do anything purposly :dunno But our only debt is cars and student loan. and I fully expect to ALWAYS have a car payment :yes Rileysmom 12-04-2007, 02:08 PM Keeping the balances below 40% (except for one). Making minimum payments on all and paying off the highest interest rate (actually it's the only one with an interest rate) and "snowballing". Our payments are up to about $800 for the snowball account. :woohoo (ETA: I know that switching cards to get the 0% rate isn't the best for our credit, but it means we save money and pay off our debt faster, so in return it will mean a better score in the end). Stopped opening store accounts.. I have one at each store that I frequently go to and use them to get the discounts and pay them off immediately. We don't use credit cards at all anymore except for major purchases, and only if we have the cash to pay it off immediately. PrincessBlue505 12-04-2007, 05:28 PM Pay the bills on time and more than the minimum due. Also trying to get the balances down. sgmwife1 12-04-2007, 05:38 PM Paid off all debt minus the house and closed credit accounts that were open. Im not too concerned about my credit score because you dont need credit to spend cash. Genna 12-04-2007, 05:53 PM You can always tell the Dave Ramsey fans when it comes to credit scores ;) Ditto to no need for a credit score when you use cash :) Navgirl 12-04-2007, 09:19 PM Sometimes closing too many open accounts can have a negative affect on your credit score, too. It's all such BS. Anyway, I pay way more than the minimum except on my student loans, the intrest rate is so low and the payment is $78 and plus it's a "good" debt, it's seen as an investment just like a house is. I learned alot of this from Suze Orman. Heather 12-04-2007, 09:51 PM *I* don't do anything for my own score. We use cash for everything except gas. We have a gas card we keep a tiny balance on and pay off what we spent during the month. other than that we own our cars and aren't buying a house. We don't have any credit cards besides the gas card. mitziebella 12-05-2007, 09:30 AM Charging and paying off credit cards each month (if possible). I like to have good credit, bc i know one day we will want to own a home. I know dam well that we won't have enough money to buy the house with cash, so atlease we would like to have great credit score to get a great interest rate on our home loan. ijustdidit2012 12-06-2007, 02:42 PM getting the rest of the credit cards paid off and keeping our star card because you need some revolving credit also going back in my credit history and taking care of the things in my past Melymj4 12-06-2007, 04:55 PM nothing yet, but I want to start working on fixing DH's credit score because it is baaaaadddd |
