We finally found a place to rent! It's freaking huge (double what we have here, 1900 sq. feet), hardwood floors downstairs, carpeted upstairs, two fireplaces (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom!!!!!), the master bedroom is HUGE--has a balcony, 2 huge walk in closets, double sinks, a monster soak tub with a separate shower, a little "sitting area" in there.. just freaking awesome room... it's 3 bedrooms with 2.5 baths, the living has like 18-20 foot ceilings, there is a great backyard with views of the mountains and grass... kitchen is huge, pool and sauna across the street, they take care of the landscaping for us, and it's only $40 more than we are paying now.

I am BEYOND ecstatic if you can't tell. :giggle It's just the perfect stepping stone between now and buying a house once Ryan gets out... the only down side is it far away from base (about 40 minutes) but that will encourage my newly-green hubby to take the Coaster and save some more money too! Plus Camp Pendleton is nearby so we can still shop at the commy. :woohoo

We just got approved and move in the beginning of January, I am so so so excited!!!

We are statoned at camp P but well he is in Iraq and I am in redlands but we plan to of course move back down there once he is home. Yep, Craigslist.org! Also try renthomes.com, militarybyowner (military members that sell and rent their homes to other military members), and backpage.com, and signonsandiego.com. There are tons of reasonable places in Oceanside! Good luck! :woohoo

Yep, all of those places are pretty close. There is also a really nice L.A. Fitness close to you too.

Yeah, at first I was like WOWWWWWW! but now I really think we could make it work into kind of a Mediterranean & Spanish type feel. And it goes with the house very well!

Thanks everyone, I am so excited! Ryan and I were drawing out floor plans of where we will put all our crap! We currently live in a 2 bedroom condo, so literally our garage has rubbermaid bins STACKED to the ceiling and our closets are PACKED! It will be so nice to have room for everything! :woohoo

I think he will LOVE it! When we went to look at the inside, he was loving the sound of his feet on the hardwood floors! And when we opened the back door, he ran onto the grass making the "uhhhh" sound as he ran! I think it will be great for him.. he is getting pretty :quote busy :quote these days, so it will be a nice change for him too! Plus I can cook in the kitchen while I watch him tear up the backyard.. such a shock it will be for us to be in a house again! :giggle

Thanks for all the well wishes ladies! I actually went to put down our deposit and the owner of the house called the property management company and wanted to raise the rent, but since we had already signed things, he couldn't. Turns out the rent hasn't been raised in 6 years, which is why we are getting such a good price for the place! :wow We are gonna try to switch the lease to a two year one so we can lock into that price! :teehee
