I got a phone call from boot camp today from my DB, and i was soooooo happy! Unfortunately I was in the cafeteria, which was slightly embarassing, becasue everyone heard me scream his name and then burst into tears.

He told me that he got made the Recruit Education Petty Officer before he had to hang up real quick...does anyone know what the heck that means???

dh says that he "babysits" people during tests, puts out study guides to tests, in charge of people's studying, that sort of thing

dh says it's bitch work though.

I am not sure what branch he is in, but if I had to guess it is some kind of detail or side job he was assigned. When I went through AF boot camp we all had jobs, but they did not have such a nifty name. I was the PT(physical training) monitor. I had to keep track of everyones PT scores, weights and stats. There were other jobs like the latreen queen..which was the person in charge of keeping the bathroom in the barracks clean. Anyway..sorry to ramble..but if I had to guess he got picked to be in charge of the eduacation for the people he is training with, which could mean he keeps up with assignments and such. I hope maybe someone will have a more for sure answer!

Just basicly means he was the recruit that chose to be put in charge of everyone else studing for their tests. He makes up ways to study for the tests and makes sure that everyone is studing for them; also he has to keep track of all the info from the classes they take a few times a week. He gets a lot of shit if people do really badly. At least thats how it was for us when i went through boot
