View Full Version : Moving back to VA Beach
NavyWife725 12-09-2007, 11:06 AM Ladies, I am so excited to be able to say that we are going to be moving back to VB in the spring. We are currently house hunting, and looking to be in the same area that we were when we were originally down there. The elementary school is great, so that is where we want to be. I can't wait to get to meet some of you and hopefully make some great friends. With J deploying to Iraq, I'm going to need all the friends I can get. I'm also talking about going to NJ for July & August, and getting my girls involved in the summer program in my parents community. Swim lessons, activities, and great social experiences. I figure the first few months will be the hardest, so I really want to surround myself with family.
Do you guys have alot of get togethers down there now?
Erika 12-09-2007, 11:12 AM We don't have a lot, but we do have a few. :yes
Good luck house hunting!
Victoria 12-09-2007, 11:17 AM Good luck with everything!!! With so many of us in the Hampton Roads area, I'm sure G2G's will be occuring more often. :) I'm such a social butterfly that I love getting together whenever there's an opportunity.
We just had a get together at my house, last night. Go see the pics in the photo album! :wink

Anything good for sale over there?! LOL I want my oldest to start school at Providence Elementary. I have seen first hand how they are with my girlfriends kids... and I love it!
YAY for moving!! I really want to go to a g2g soon, I had to deal with finals this weekend and missed the one at Jo's. :(
NavyWife725 12-10-2007, 09:14 AM Hey ladies, here is a question for you...
Is anyone willing to do a few "drive-bys" for me? I am getting listings from my Realtor, but was hoping to get a heads up on what it looks like around the house before making a list of places to physically look at!
Anyone interested? I totally understand if now one wants to.

I'm more than willing. You can email me the listings skaaa94@cox.net and then I'll drive by and take pics.

Whoo hoo! A partner in crime! I will know more by the end of the week. We are also attempting to cut our Christmas vacation in NC short by 2 days to come and look at properties. I'm getting so excited!
USNIwife 12-11-2007, 01:19 AM We are here two. DH and I. We don't have kids...but, don't be fooled. I love them. So welcome back to the area very shortly for you! and PM me if you need anything. Thanks! Amanda
NavyWife725 12-17-2007, 09:15 AM Ok ladies, we have found a home in Chesapeake that we are IN LOVE with - of course we are skeptical of the listing - it seems almost to good to be true. The address is: 318 Hinton Ave Chesapeake 23323. I am waiting for a realtor to get back to me on it. I need to know what the elementary school is for that area, and some more info on the house itself. We are looking to come down from Jan 4 -10 and look - but that is up in the air. Anyone interested in making a drive by is more than welcome! I can't wait to get down there ladies! OH! And the date was pushed up! We will be down there either the last weekend in March, or the first weekend in April!

I don't know much about Chesapeake, but that is in the Deep Creek part of it. And I *think* the elementary school is Deep Creek Central. According to greatschools.net that school scored a 9 out of 10, so I would guess it's a pretty good school. If no one else has done a drive by for you, I can do it tomorrow. :)
kellyjo7276 12-19-2007, 01:26 PM My boyfriend gets back February 27th! I will be moving to VA Beach at the beginning of March. Since I'm new to the area, and new to military life, I'm going to need some help adjusting. :)
NavyWife725 12-28-2007, 09:39 PM The house I previously mentioned sold to another buyer the day before we went to put an offer on it. BUMMER! The hunt is on again!

JadedPrincess 12-29-2007, 09:02 PM They've added lots of shops around that area that you're moving to. Lots of job opportunities.
Navywife41203 01-03-2008, 11:14 AM We're here in Va. Beach too! We live off of N. Great Neck. My DH is deployed right now and won't be back until the middle of March. We have 3 children....Desiree, 14; Emma, 3 1/2; and Dylan, 20 months.
I'd love to know when the next G2G is! I'd love to meet some of you!
Cheryl
NavyWife725 01-16-2008, 02:20 PM Well ladies, it looks like our plans to buy a house and me and the girls to get down there are on hold. Things have been too hectic and so we have pretty much decided that me and the girls would move up to NJ with my folks while he is deployed. It will save us lots of money and be real good for my dad to have the girls around. Not to mention I will be able to work as a camp counselor this summer, and have the girls enrolled in swim lessons. It's all for the best. Other reasons include the fact that I'm not thrilled about settling into our first home without my husband! We will work on buying as soon as he returns in early 2009. I'm bummed that I will have to wait that long to meet all of you though!
