View Full Version : AC for a garage SezzySue 12-10-2007, 01:56 PM we are talking about using the garage as my studio, but how would I possibly keep it cool in the summer? Donna 12-10-2007, 02:01 PM buy one of those portable stand a/c units. that is the only thing I can think of. rosebud* 12-10-2007, 02:03 PM to keep it cool and your electricity costs down you would need to insulate the garage.otherwise the ac will do no good because it can't keep up with the heat. SnarphBlat 12-10-2007, 02:09 PM Dance Studio? Art Studio? Sounds neat! Maybe get circulation air. DakotaCowgirl 12-16-2007, 08:44 PM to keep it cool and your electricity costs down you would need to insulate the garage.otherwise the ac will do no good because it can't keep up with the heat. I agree. If it isn't insulated really well, it isn't worth it. I would just get the portable ones. Even then, you still need an out for the air to pull in. USCGBoxerMom 12-16-2007, 08:49 PM Get someone to come blow in some insulation for your garage. If you don't you won't hold the cool air, you will only be fighting the hot air. Also find out about sealing the garage door if your going that far because again that will be an issue. Sometimes your A/C compressor will be inside as well in the garage ceiling (depending) and if so you may be able to have someone come in and duct the garage. sailorspride 12-21-2007, 10:11 AM They have these turbine fan things you install in the ceiling to help draw out the heat and you could add some fans...its really a personal decision... |
