I have one and I want to know what kind of soap do you use? I thought that you are only suppose to use the Tide He soap but they are so expensive, we do allot of washing and I can never find coupons for them so I want to use another kind of soap. The book says this tide is concentrated enough for the front loads. I dont want alot of bubbles coming out of the wash or soap residue on the clothes. :dunno I dont know what else to try. Any ideas?

My penny-pinching parents just use regular liquid detergent in their Maytag Neptune. :) I've never had a problem when using their washer with the regular detergent. The clothes still come out clean! :D

Also....HE detergent came of AFTER front-loading washers were put on the market. So I don't think using HE detergent is a MUST. :)

My parents use the HE stuff in our front loader. I think if you want to use normal detergent just use a lot less than you normaly would. Thats what I do with my stuff. (the he stuff kinda gives me a rash)

Okay, thanks I will try the other soaps after the move. I love tide but with all our washing it is starting to add up.

I have front loaders.
All has a HE detergent, and I believe its cheaper than tide. But I think that if you use the regular you should use less than what it says for regular.. the whole point of the HE detergent is that it has less suds, so less water is used I believe.

I use the Tide HE in mine.

My aunt has one and said a repair guy told her she can use REALLY REALLY watered down regular detergent. I also heard this same advice from a friend who has one. BUT my aunt tried this advice once and there were so many bubbles that it took like 3 hours to get rid of all the bubbles.

Make sure you check the warranty on your washer first. A lot of brands it voids out your warranty if you use regular detergant in them. Just something to think about!

I use the HE stuff now. I was told that they are finding that those that use the regular detergent are having the bearings go out a lot sooner than normal wear and tear.
