-We designed a command t-shirt and sold them to the family members
-Made a float for the 4th of July parade to win $100
-Bakes sales
-Car washes
-Easter Egg sales(fills eggs with candy and in each egg was a number for a prize. They could win the CO's parking spot, 48 hour leave chit etc.)
-Spaghetti dinners at the command during working hours
-We also took in donations from our families and had garage sales to help raise money

Thats all I can think of right now :teehee

We used Current Fundraising. At www.currentfun.com anyone can shop and then at checkout they designate what group the proceeds go to. The group has to register with Current, but after that the only "work" we did was put the word out in the newsletter and at meetings. Even extended family can support the cause! Current sends a dividend check out to the designated fundraising person on a quarterly basis. It was really easy money!!

We have done donut sales in front of the pier and made $300 in 45 minutes of doing it. We are currently waiting on our cookbook to be finished to sell. We sell our inventory (gators and car magnets) at anything and everything we can. We made over $500 on the family cruise doing this. Bake sales on the ship. Flower sales for Valentines Day. Those are a few we have done.

We do chili sales. It's a GREAT fundraiser, esp. if you get 5 people to donate a crock pot of chili. We made 300 bucks in a 2 hr period of doing this and had many requests to do it again.

The FRG for this command is just getting organized and we are hoping to have a couple fundraisers before the guys return. Have discussed a big garage sale and doing a Tupperware fundraiser (we would get 40% on that). Garage sale mostly because it is a fairly quick and easy way to raise money before they get back.

Quite a few things that we did are already listed
One thing extra that we did though was a mom and dads or just a moms night out. We set a certain amount for 1 kid and then another amount for each additional kid. We raised quite a bit that way :yes

We took donations and had a yard sale (that made us almost $200) mostly clothes and odds and ends
We had pizza sales on the pier at the ship. BIG MONEY! The guys loved it!
Every Friday we had coffee on the pier for a while (donations of baked goods) and we had two big (100 cups) pots of coffee and the guys go NUTS for that stuff! GOOD coffee too!
We did bake sales! Always great!
We are doing auction boxes! I will let you know how those go! Have had that happen yet. We made boxes with all kinds of stuff in them and sent them to the ship for them to action off!

We did quite a few things listed so I'll just make some comments

t shirts and cookbooks SOLD OUT! made tons of money

we also did pizza sale on the ship. At first we got pizza hut personal pans for 2.75 and sold them for 5 or 6 bucks with a drink. Now they are getting mediums at a smaller local place for 3.75 much better deal and the sailors preferred the bigger pizza. Also they are giving cookies away that were made or bought by the members. Just a little added touch that didnt cost the "club" anything. Just what the members donated.

we also did a Dream Dinners fundraiser. It goes for a month. Anyone can be a part of it as long as they say they want to . All you have to do is the advertising and you can tell everyone!

forgot one :D

we had someone on the ship take orders and money for the sailors to buy roses for the spouses and we gave them out at our half way party. You just have to have the contact person at the command which can be hard to find. made GOOD money and all we had to do was put cute home made name tags on them for our dinner. We got them at Safeway for like $12 per dozen and charged the sailors like $25. They could order however many dozen they wanted. Dont limit them to a doz because then you limit your profit :wink

Garage/ Yard Sales BIG YES... when our FRG had ours this past weekend we made over $100 with the items donate from the spouses (not to mention it helps get rid of the clutter in your home:D)

so far what in the works for our FRG is basket sale, cookbook... we did tee shirts(not sure how thats working out).

I think the cutiest thing our ship is doing is the First Hug (kids) and First Kiss (spouse)... yea even though were just a CG ship, we all were in agreeance to do it. Its really simple... its a raffle each tix is $1 each and its going on until the night before the ship comes home.... THIS IS A GREAT ONE... some of the spouse are SOOOO DETERMIND to win the First Kiss, I personally have seen spouses drop $20+ in one meeting!!:wow

My FRG auctioned boxes one patrol. We sent them out to sea with the guys and they bought them while they were out. We had a cigarette box (went for $170), a smokeless tobacco box, a pron box, a movie box, and a candy box. I think we made about $400 for that.

Another big fundraiser we did was called Antiquities. The group sells sitting fees for $10 each (all profit for FRG) and in exchange the person paying for the sitting gets a free 10 x 13 portrait. They have several different styles and tones for the pictures. The coordinator gets a free package and other group members can earn free packages by selling sitting fees. The company also gives a cash bonus for selling so many sittings. The minimum one is sell 60 and get a $400 bonus (sitting fees $600+$400=$1000 profit for FRG). The website is http://www.antiquities-studios.com/aboutus.htm

We did a barbeque sandwich fundraiser. It was great. We got brisquet on sale and cooked it in the crock pots and it turns out wonderful. It was a huge hit, I think we made close to $700.00 that day.

I love the yellow ribbon sale idea.

What about a person who works for themself, (avon, pampered chef, mary kay, ect.) who will donate a certian % to the FRG of the sales.

Past things that worked for me were bake sales, hotdog and hamburger sales with chips and a drink. We also did a triple fundraiser once that raised a good amount of money. We did a pie in the face, envelope auction (they bid on an envelope but don't know what's in it), and a rank auction (only the higher ranks). All the soldiers and spouses had a lot of fun.
