Well I was just thinkin about how much support DB and I got from random people the last week he was here. He had put all his civvies in storage so all he had was ACUs, and we were afraid people would make rude remarks, because so many people are doing that these days.

I was shocked at how many people stopped us while we walked around, just to thank him and hug him. It was some of the sweetest gestures I had ever seen. At the mall, the Santa Claus even hugged him and thanked him immensely. I was never prouder to walk beside him. There were a couple of little kids who saluted him, which was the cutest thing ever.

It restored my faith in people. So many of them abuse their right to freedom, a right which our men and women are fighting for. Its good to know there are still those outside the military community who recognize the sacrifice.

*On another note, I went and bought a couple t-shirts from cafepress.com to wear for DB in pics and on R&R and such. I can't wait to get them! I got one that says 'Not single, he's deployed' and one that says, 'I can legally mess with government property' hehehe
