I feel silly asking this
The third trimester is weeks 27-42 according to this one website I'm looking at.
27 weeks is 6.75 months and 42 weeks is 10.5 weeks... Why are humans said to have 9 month long pregnancies, if the 3rd trimester can last until 10 and a half months??

Some months have more days in them
its 40 weeks.... 40 weeks / 4 = 10
so if you go by lunar or calendar months, it's different

there is a book...Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy I think....everytime it referred to "nine months of pregnancy" it prompty said afterwards (ten) :rofl
For the MOST part...yeah it calculates more often to be 10 months rather than 9.

the first 4 weeks is before you know you are pregnant. People usually find out when the miss a period around 4 weeks so then you really have 9 months of consciously knowing you are pregnant :)

Yeah, that's really annoying when you are like 28 weeks and you say your 7 months and people think oh you only have 2 months left....WRONG...3 months.

it's closer to 10 months than 9 months of pregnancy depending on the calculations used

I have tried to explain that to my husband many times and finally he just gave up asking. As if things arent confusing enough for pregnant women :lol
