View Full Version : C-section where pain meds wore off!!
Rileysmom 12-13-2007, 01:11 AM Can you f*cking even imagine? :freakout :freakout :freakout I was just watching Larry King and they were talking about surgeries where the patient has "woken up" and can feel everything, but their mouthes are still paralyzed from the meds and they can't tell the doctor! Frick, even if they could tell the doc (some could, like in the case of the c-section with a spinal) but could you even imagine the pain??? :faint
Kelleysquared 12-13-2007, 01:29 AM That always scares me.
I'm afraid of surgery for that reason.
carlyd89 12-13-2007, 01:30 AM ugh i don't even want to think about how much that would hurt
That happened to my mom her epidural wore off and she could feel it.
MIKOSWIFEY 12-13-2007, 02:37 AM I would lose all will to live. :faint
forensicangel 12-13-2007, 02:39 AM Isn't that what that new movie Awake is about?
And I'm terrified of surgical procedures because of that!
Jennie 12-13-2007, 03:14 AM my aunt said with her first, she was on epidural all day so she didn't feel anything with her c-section. but, with her second she only got one dose of it and it wore off so she said she felt pretty much everything and the docs were talking about what cars they wanted or something..
KatReborn 12-13-2007, 04:27 AM That always scares me.
I'm afraid of surgery for that reason.
Hence why I have never had surgery. AND why I am having a vaginal birth, I think I am even going to go all natural so I can know EXACTLY what is going on with me, if that makes any sense at all.
JudyB 12-13-2007, 05:34 AM I had that happen with my son. I could still talk and all ocourse but just after I delivered things started to wear off....again....and they told me that I couldn't have anymore because I was already at my max. I had to endure them putting me all back together with pretty much nothing. Funny thing was that my legs were still numb and I still no feeling as far as my bowels went either.
Not something I would ever wish on anyone
OMG! That's just pure horror right there. I hope I will never have to go thru such an beyond painful experience.
mrskmw 12-13-2007, 09:07 AM OMG that would be HORRIBLE!!! I can't even begin to imagine what that pain would be like!
Treysgirl 12-13-2007, 09:13 AM I can't even imagine how bad that'd be. The epidural wore off right after my C-section was over, and that was almost more pain than I could bear
Teresa 12-13-2007, 09:18 AM Wow, I can't imagine how bad that would be! I had 2 c-sections and was numbed up VERY good for both of them, thank goodness!
*Crystal* 12-13-2007, 12:24 PM That happened when I had Rhyann. When they were sewing me up I started to feel it. They gave me some type of local right there where they were sewing me up and it took the pain away. But for a little while I could feel it and it was horrible.
dotb182 12-13-2007, 01:10 PM I saw this happen to a 16 year old boy. We get to do 2 days in the OR for school to observe and I was watching a 16 year old get his ACL repaired. Needless to say as they're sitting there drilling and beating on his leg he started to wake up and was thrashing. They had to pin him down while the anestheologist knocked him back out...
Ashnbri 12-13-2007, 01:15 PM That always scares me too :scared...my pain meds wore off and I could feel EVERYTHING when they were doing the last two stitches on my c section.
Devinn 12-13-2007, 01:19 PM yeah I watched a show about this phenomenon on Discovery Health...
one woman was describing her eye surgery that she woke up in the middle of...
they were removing her eye and she said she felt and SAW every cut and felt the tugging when they were pulling it out of socket...
she said she knew the moment her eye disconnected from her body because everything went black :freakout
:puke
~April~ 12-13-2007, 01:23 PM OMG! I would not want to go through that. I dont' even want to imagine...Poor person!
Casadorra 12-13-2007, 01:46 PM OMG i'm terrified of surgury for that very reason.
