How do you deal with it? My BF left me an offline saying he had been online and was getting off, and generally I love the offlines...a liittle extra piece of communication....the thing is, this time I saw his offline two minutes later, and had had the ability of being able to talk to him the whole time because I WAS online, just appearing offline and was busy wrapping presents.....my first reaction was anger at myself for being so stupid as to not leaving myself online so he knew I was there (but at the same time if I had been online, I wouldnt have gotten any wrapping done because others would have tried talking to me), then I was disappointed and cried....its so dumb to find out I could have been talking with him.

Alex didn't have a chance to get on to yahoo or AIM very often and I can remember I missed him once, I didn't have my alert on high enough and I was downstairs....boy did I bawl!

I changed my alert to a an Abba song and have it cranked up, plus I have a laptop so I can have it near me when I am doing other things. Don't feel so bad it will just make the next talk even more precious. Besides you really need to wrap right, it is Christmas

I think we have all done this at one time or another (missed a call, missed them online, etc. Don't beat yourself up!!

oh i hated that.. db doesnt get on messenger very often either and once i woke up and had a message from him, he had been on a few hours earlier. I was disspointed, definitely. Whats an alert??

Thanks guys! I'm feeling a little bit better already, its that initial bitter disappointment that I needed to get out I think.....an alert is the sound your computer makes when you get a message or when someone comes on (you can chose if you want these alerts or not, they have them for a few different things)
