View Full Version : Have you ever noticed?
That things don't seem to go wrong until they leave?
If anything can go wrong it does. One time 2 days after he left, my house sprung a leak under it! Another time our dog was hit by a car! Ear Aches so bad in the middle of the night you have to drag all 3 kids to the ER because there is no one else to watch them.
My husband is leaving in March. We PCSing, and he's moving their first, I'm moving there in 5 months. I dread the first couple of weeks for sure!
Gunslinger's Gal 12-13-2007, 12:33 PM AMEN!
When DH deployed to Iraq the first time, my beloved rottweiler died. This year - he went to AIT - the hamster died. He had a special 3 week training in October - the cat died. He left for two weeks the end of November - my fish died!
Here is hoping I don't drop dead next year!
Windy 12-13-2007, 12:35 PM Car craps out on you, you get lose your job and find a lump in your breast (turns out to be nothing). I'm not sure if things really do go wrong when he's gone or I just notice it just seems that way because I'm dealing with it alone.:puzz
OMGosh! That's NOT funny but I'm laughing! My husband would love that! Every time he deploys I end up getting ANOTHER PET! LOL! This last trip I got 2 new beta fish! He just rolled his eyes. A couple of years ago it was a bird. LMAO. Now we're moving and he says WTH are we gonna do w/ all the pets? We now have a barn cat and 2 dogs as well!
I told him, just wait till we move!!! Maybe a snake or lizard next?
MandyK 12-13-2007, 12:37 PM YES! :gaah
I always try to prepare myself that within a week of his deploying that something BAD is going to happen.
I've had the car break down, gotten pulled over, a ticket and had to go to court because he forgot to leave all the paperwork in there (insurance card, etc), and those trips to the ER with three kids in tow in the middle of the night were horrible!
I guess it's made me stronger though. To know I've been through it all and can tackle it without him...it makes me feel good. :yahoo

My husband is not a pet person. He has told me that if he comes home and there is one new pet in this house we are going to have serious issues. :arg
IMHO - that only means cats and dogs. Hamsters and fish don't really count as pets, do they? I mean, you can't walk a fish. ;)

Proud_MPWIFE 12-14-2007, 03:01 PM Dh left a week or so ago and within this past week
1. My kitchen flooded twice
2. My SUV broke down
3. Kids broke a huge mirror
4. I got my first UTI that spread to my kidneys
5. The army has paid us $30 for the entire month of Dec
So far, I think that's it
besides my oldest son ( special needs), has cried non stop for the past 2 days.:dunno
I really hope this doesnt set the standards for the next 13mos of deployment...lol:pray
KatReborn 12-14-2007, 05:19 PM I had the same problem and DH was only gone for Basic. I broke my foot, my car got totalled out, I got pneumonia, got disowned from my fathers side of the family, and lastly both of my grandmothers ended up in the hospital basically on deaths door (thank god both of them are doing semi better now).

:teehee That's a good come back.
I do know everyone's pain though.
When he left the last time the damn shower broke and that was $650 to fix. Before that the house flooded from a broken hose on the dishwasher. Before that the damn dogs escaped. I found them in jail (the pound) and it cost $160 to bail them out. I swear it'd be cheaper for him to stay home. :lmao
