Hey DH has surgery in early jan in pensacola. Anyone know any good hotels? or anything to do there after his pre op appt?

I went down there for a couple days when dh was graduating "A" School for the second time. We stayed at I think it's a Super 8 for one night and then the rest of the time we stayed at the Navy Lodge. Which I thought was very nice.

As for things to do, we went to a zoo one day, they have a Navy with the Blue Angels museum on the base. We went to a mall another day.

I would check with the Navy Lodge first. As far as things to do in the winter here...hmmmmm....the Museum of Naval Aviation which is practically right across from the Navy Lodge would be a good choice. Other than that theres not much else unfortunately.

Best hotel is the Ashton Inn and Suites. They're really nice. I've stayed there many times and put my family up there when they visited when we were stationed there.

You might check with ITT about what's going on at the Pensacola Civic Center. They get some good concerts and such like there. The museum on base is good.

There's a couple of malls, and a movie theater, and a nice little down-town area to walk around too.
