Interesting, but I don't like it personally. :)

How do you pronounce it? Is it for a boy or a girl? It's very unique.

I think it's neat. The only thing that would suck is trying to find souvenir shot glasses with the person's name on it. :giggle My name is Heidi... and apparently all Heidi souvenirs have been discontinued. My name isn't even that uncommon. :sigh

I hit other, before I saw the interesting choice.
I don't care for hyphenated names...too confusing!

Hate it! And I think hyphenated names are just too much trouble, as well.

I love how it's pronounced. The spelling definitely threw me off :giggle

Could Micall be the middle name? The Alexander (while I LOVE that name) just makes it such a mouthful... :dunno

Personally, I love it. Well, the Siloam part at least. I could do without the Micall part.

I can never find Trina on anything either. Tina, yes, but Trina, NEVER. It's irritating. LOL.

I love the name Alexander too. But, you can have TWO middle names. LOL. Adam has two, and when it comes to a lot of things he just puts the first one cuz places usually only leave one spot for a middle name. His boss has a hyphenated first name though, which I thought was kinda cool when I heard it.

I like the Siloam too, not terribly keen on the rest of it.

Ok... so if it as Siloam Micall ....no hyphen, no Alexander...then yes??

I would spell Siloam differently (Sailum maybe? Sylem, Sylum) because nothing is more frustrating that people not knowing how to pronounce your name all your life. (Take it from a Schaele)

I like it spelled Siloam personally. But I am one of those people who like really unique names. I really want to name a daughter Caoilfhionn but my FIL told me I am out of the will if I do. :rofl

And I think I would actually probably like Siloam Alexander better. Or Maybe Siloam Aleksandr. Drop the Micall all together. :P

BTW...Siloam is from the bible and is the name of the pool where Jesus cured the blind man. It means "great cure" or "greatful one" or "great one" or "sent" or "messanger" depending on language variation... thought it was interesting... my friend is looking for baby names and she came up with that and wanted to know what people would think of it...

just curious... but why would Siloam be annoying?
the spelling wouldn't change because then it would loose the meaning.

Annoying for HIM because people will never pronounce it correctly. It wears on you after a bit. My mom changed her name legally because it was Deirdre and no one could ever pronounce it right. It DOES get annoying to have a name that most people can't pronounce. It's just good to have an alternative. Most people adopt nicknames anyway, so I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of an issue.

It might also be cumbersome for him after a while to tell people over and over how to say his name. Especially since it isn't a phonetic name at all. kwim.

most name spellings aren't... how do you get "My-cull" out of Michael, for example ...

I have to agree with this. My maiden name was apparently hard to pronounce for some reason. If you knew how to sound out letters it wasn't all that hard. I had to make up a phrase so people would remember how to spell it. Yes, it gets annoying.

yes but Michael is a popular name so when people see it they know how to say it. when it's not a name in circulation people don't know how to say it.

I agree with the tiresome chore of spelling your name out every time. My last name has 3, count them 3, letters and NO ONE gets it right.....and my first name is confused with a boy's name over the phone alot...and my maiden name was a disaster! So for the child's sake please think it over before you bestow a name that is extremely hard to pronounce or spell....

I'm not a huge fan. Thats a freakin mouthful. I cant even imagine that being a childs name, getting made at the child and you cant get the name out... I think a name like that would be super embarrasing as well. Kids, hell, even adults are mean
