View Full Version : In pain..please help..
sharine25 12-16-2007, 03:56 PM Hi Everyone..
Sorry I have been out of the picture the last week, but been spending time with DH and the baby before DH left plus am still recovering..
Anyways big question for those who have gone through c-section...I had my c=section on the 4th and since yesterday I have been in constant pain in the stomach area...is this normal? I thought it might be my bowel movements but am going to the bathroom normallly so that's not the problem...It really hurts and doesn't feel like period pains..Am just wondering if this is normal? I hope someone can help me..
*tina* 12-16-2007, 08:04 PM Have you been taking your pain pills before you've been feeling pain? If it doesn't go away after you take a pain pill, you should go to the doctor.
rosebud* 12-16-2007, 08:08 PM yes it's normal, your uterus is contracting to get back to normal size. pay attention to when the pain comes. Does it happen say after eating, doing something a little strenuous? those could be signs. If in doubt call the nurseline or make an appointment always better to be safe than sorry.
sharine25 12-17-2007, 12:24 AM no pain pills here...they never gave me any pain pills when i left..the last time i took pain pills was on the 7th Dec....the only pills am taking now are the iron pills they prescribe..
the pain happens when i am eating, after eating, lying down, walkin from a to b..it's just the whole week i was moving around and had no pain and then suddenly on saturday i am in constant pain..like period cramps...is there anyways to settle down the pain?
Treysgirl 12-17-2007, 10:45 AM I was in almost constant pain from my C-section for about 6 weeks after it. I'd suggest calling the dr. and seeing if they'll give you something for the pain. Pain pills were the only way I was able to get through it.
MIKOSWIFEY 12-17-2007, 10:50 AM OMG! They should have given you a prescription for a week's worth of percocet at the very least. I suggest getting something from them at least. You poor thing.
sharine25 12-18-2007, 04:38 PM Oh wow..I guess I must have been suppresing my pain mentally and physically that whole week because of DH being there because as soon as he left the pain just came in full rush...
I did go the doctor on Monday. He check me and gave me some medication..no pain killers..just antibiotic and something to start my period because it suddenly stop and was making even worst pain for me..So we will see how it goes..
Treysgirl 12-18-2007, 06:20 PM I hope you get to feeling better REALLY soon!

Wow, that is weird. Your not suppose to have a "period" yet. Its all postpardom bleeding. Not period. He shouldnt have given you something to start one.
And you most definatley should have been given pain meds. You have a little one to take care of, and if you cant move from the pain, how can you take care of the baby :(
I hope you feel better, and I would call the Dr back.

Apparently when he did an ultrasound he saw blood being clog up...so he gave me medication to release the blood..that's why i was feeling a lot of cramps..
I am feeling better..still pain here and there but not as bad as it was last weekend....Am just glad that my mom is here to help me out..Because other than the pain, I apparently have caught the flu and my asthma is acting up...During the whole pregnancy, I was fine and dandy and as soon as I give birth everything just come rushing in..uuggghhh....
Tara S. 12-21-2007, 08:41 AM ive had 3 csections, and seems like for a while it was fine, then all the sudden the pain would come...i dint take any pain pills after i left the hospital...my dr. told me it was most likly the scar tissue forming for something like that...after my 3rd csection i seem to always have little shooting pains...especially if ive been sitting for a while and stand up fast...if it dosnt go away and the dr keeps telling you its nothing you might want to get another opinion, if it has you nervous..
mrskmw 12-21-2007, 08:45 AM They should have sent you home with an RX for percocet. Why the hell would a dr send someone home who just had a c-section and not give them any pain meds? I havent read the rest of the post but if you still aren't feeling better I would call them back and ask for something. It's normal to have pain. My youngest (the only one I had to have a c-section with) is now almost 8 months old and I still have spots that are sore to touch and still have some spots that are completely numb.
