I've mad the same one forever (it was mom's recipe and probably grandmom's before her), but if I had to write it out, I'd be clueless. I just sort of do it....

Cream cheese
shredded swiss
shredded sharp cheddar
small amount of Tabasco sauce
Worschesauer sauce (can't spell, but you know what i mean)
bleu cheese crumbles

roll it in pecan pieces afterwards

Yum! Sounds good. That looks like most of the recipes I've been finding online with a few variations..I may have to try it :)

Thanks!

:lol This is an old thread! I ended up combining several recipes to make mine and I LOVED it!

I used 8 oz. of cream cheese
2 cups (one package) of shredded cheddar cheese
3-4 slices of crumbled fried bacon
about 1/8-1/4 cup of onion
1/8 cup or less of chopped carrots
chives
basil
garlic powder or crushed garlic
salt/pepper
other seasonings (can you tell I love seasonings?)
And about 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Then I rolled it into 2 balls and rolled the balls in chopped almonds. YUM!!!!

Cheese balls scare me a little bit. It's the thought of Velveeta type cheese....but the recipe you came up with sounds YUMMY.

How did you serve it?

I put it on a plate surrounded by Ritz and Triscuit crackers and a small knife for spreading. It was devoured within hours :lol

that's how i serve mine. I took it to Christmas dinner at DB's family's house and it was gone within minuts. I didn't even get any of my own :( :( I don't put anything velveta like in it really

i make mine pretty simple. depending on how many i'm serving. for one block of cream cheese.
1 8 oz block cream cheese softened (cutting into cubes seems to make mixing easier)
about a palm full of sliced/chopped green onion
1 pack of carl budding beef cut into small pieces reserve 1/4 of the beef
mix and then roll in the reserve beef
refrigerate for a few hours or overnight for better flavor
serve with keebler club crackers *my favorite* or whatever crackers you like

No, seriously,..... do you want an 'appetizer' cheese ball or a 'dessert' cheese ball?

Cranberry Delight Cheese Spread

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons concentrated orange juice, thawed
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup finely chopped dried cranberries
1 orange, zest only
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon--- meh, I do this without the cinnamon
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans (we used pecans)

Directions:

Mix cream cheese, juice concentrate, cinnamon, and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Fold in the orange zest, pecans and cranberries. Refrigerate. Garnish with mint leaves, cranberry slices or orange zest.

note: screw the cinnamon and the mint leaves.... it's great without them. Use Wheat Thins as the cracker.
