Jamie Lynn Spears, 16, has confirmed to OK! Magazine that she is pregnant. Oh. My. God.

A source tells us the interview, which hits stands tomorrow, is six pages and is on the record with Jamie Lynn and her mother. She tells the mag that the father is Casey Aldridge, who she has been dating for some time and first met at church. Brit's younger sister, star of Nick's "Zoey 101," says she's keeping the baby.

Sources tell us that she has not yet told her older sister. Well, she knows now.

UPDATE: Nickelodeon issued the following statement this afternoon: "We respect Jamie Lynn's decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn's well being."

Yeo! There was a pregnancy scare earlier this summer with her, and right after, she moved in with the guy into a condo of their own. WHY would her mom let her 16 year old do that??? Oh wait....bc its her daughters who make the money to pay her rent!!!

I just read it on Perez. Crazy.

Kat, I can only speak for myself, but I think the issue isn't just the fact that she's pregnant at 16. We all know that teens have sex and pregnancy happens sometimes. The issue is more that her mother allowed her to live with this guy when she is still a child and doesn't seem to be actually parenting her. She didn't seem to act like Britney's parent either.

Yeah I have to agree. Teenagers do get pregnant...it is obvious it happens all the time......doesn't always mean the parents are horrible. Who really knows what her parents are like anyway? All we have ever seen is what the media has portrayed...you know they always look for anything bad and Twist stuff around.

I can understand where they are coming from - Her parent's track record isn't the most stable. I'm sure your parent's were not horrible or anything. :hugs My sister had her first at 18, and my parents are really amazing. Just an "oh, oops!" moment.

Just did a search on yahoo for this:

I'm so buying that magazine just to see the entire story! I have nothing but good wishes for her and the baby, and I hope that she makes it through this with her head held high because there's going to be a LOT of bad press coming her way.

I know what you girls are saying about her parents, and I can see that from what is shown in the media. But makes me wonder what people thought about my parents. Makes me wonder if people thought they were just bad parents because I was pregnant so young.
If my parents had their way I wouldnt have been pregnant so early, but we all know at that age, there is LITTLE a parent can say to stop it from happening. :lol

I do think Britney is a BAD parent, 100%. But I dont think that can be 100% blamed on her parents.

And Kat, this is nothing to do with you and I don't mean that in a mean way. ANY kid that young (including you) I feel bad for because they miss out on things that kids do. I know that you would have it no other way now but it's sad that you had to deal with such serious issues at such a young age, you and any other young mother. At 16 girls should be worrying about make-up and friends and sleepovers, not changing baby diapers. What I don't understand is with all these people in her life to look over her, why didn't at least ONE of them make sure she was on BC. I mean, if they didn't trust her to take it then they could have done an implant or a shot. I just don't get it. Plus, there are sooooo many little girls looking up to her. While I realize she's human... she's put herself in that position to be "looked up to" so she needs to be responsible with that.

That's the part that I'm more concerned about, my younger sister loves Jamie's Nick show (she's 13) and I think that someone who has a following of impressionable young ladies should be more about setting a better example.

I said her mom is trash because she was letting her 16 year old kid live with a man (who dated her older sister). That makes her trash IMO. I realize pregnancy happens, and was lucky I wasn't preg at that age with all the stupid shit I did, I'm not judging THAT part of the story, Kat.

As to "can't she just get emancipated at 16 anyway" yeah, and if my kid wanted to live with an adult man she would have to get emancipated to go through with it, because I would move to another state with her ass if she didn't. That's kind of what a parent is supposed to do, keep their kid from doing irresponsible and potentially hurtful things. Her being pregnant isn't the issue for me, it's the living with an adult man at 16 and the mother LETTING things go that way.

I am at a loss for words :shock :no. I would have hoped Britney's little sister would have chosen a different path after seeing what her sister has gone though. Of course, I'm not terribly surprised. Look at the role model Jamie Lynn has...a sister who can't get control of her life and take care of her children, and a mother who has lived off of both her children's fame and has been a stage mother :no.

I'll tell you this... if I KNEW that my 16yo was having sex and I didn't think she was responsible enough to take the pill then I would take her to the doctor and get her on something that she wouldn't have to remember daily. I know that people can get pregnant on the pill but I think most incidents like this with teens are just them being irresponsible or convincing themselves that it just won't happen to them. I just feel bad for her. She was 16 with a wonderful career ahead of her. I doubt very seriously that Nick will keep her because I'd venture to guess that not getting pregnant was in her contract. They are a family network with kids top of the list and I cannot imagine them allowing her to stay. :no

You can't really blame her parents. You can say her mom is a piss poor mom for letting her live with some guy, but realistically, if she's not emancipated, she could have been, and her mom already "lost" one daughter, so she's pretty much doing anything she can to keep the other one.

And unless her daddy did some VERY bad things.. you can't blame her parents for her getting preggo. Shit happens.

I think she was very wise to take time, reflect, make a plan. I'd love to see her follow through with it and become a better mom than her sister.

Savannah loves to watch Zoey 101. I have no problems continueing to let her watch it. To me, I am the one responsible for my kids' upbringing. Not some actor or sports star. I will talk to Savannah about what is going with her when it comes up. And that I dont think it's right and give all my reasons for waiting about sex. But I dont think that seeing someone famous making mistakes means that my child will make them. And that is because I am open with them about everything. But I hate people blaming the way kids are nowadays on famous people. How about a little parenting and a lot of it would stop.

I dont agree with a lot of things that their mom has done. She has always been about being their friend than their mother and you can see that in the interviews she has done. I just hope that Jaime has more smarts about this than her sister did. It's not the end of world. I have seen great kids come from parents that had them while still in high school.

now THAT i fully agree with!
i was very glad to read she took the time to be mature about the situation and think it through very carefully.

i still think her mom should NOT have let her live with this man... although i dont think THAT is why she was preggers... plenty of people get pregnant without living together... i just think it was a poor choice on her mothers part REGARDLESS of WHY she did it.

Well of course the parents are ultimately responsible. I don't think anyone was suggesting that parents were to just let them blindly lead by famous examples. I'm not worried about MY daughter. I'm worried about the countless other girls that may not have as much supervision as *I* have over *MY* child. I mean, face it, so parents are letting the tv babysit their kids. I also don't think it's unreasonable to ask that the kids on the children's channels be good role models. :dunno

I think it is really sad. I think it is sad when any child gets pregnant. It happens though and that is reality. I am not going to judge her or her parents. I only know what the media portrays and I would say that is usually all bad and alot of times twisted anyway. I sure would hope no one would think me to be some monster of a parent if my own child were to become pregnant someday.....sometimes some things are even out of control of even the "best parents in the world". You never know, this girl may surprise everyone and end up being a fantastic mother and she may have a good head on her shoulders. Just because her sister is going through alot of bad stuff doesn't mean that JLS will do the same. Just my opinion.

Have stars not heard of birth control or is it below them, should we put diamonds on them and jack up the price to make them want the pill? Dang girls.... make me feel horrible for having my son at 17. :no My parents were not horrible, idiot parents, they were in my life etc etc.

Yes she is to young, but that doesnt mean she is trash or her parents are trash. Yes, HUGE mistake to let your 16 year old live with a boy... big mistake. But that doesnt make them horrible.

I agree that some people can handle it, with supportive and wonderful parents. But I think what everyone sees here, is Britney and her antics. They arn't exactly perfection nor anywhere near.

If Jamie Lynn is actually pregnant, I do wish her all the support and the best of life, but you would think being under the spot light and seeing the Hell her sister is going through she would have thought about protection somewhere along the line.

"she is always on time for curfew" a direct quote from her mother as to why she was shocked her 16yr old is pregnant.
Seriously? You didnt think she'd get pregnant (even though she lives with her 19yr old boyfriend) because she is never late for curfew?? Ok mother of the year!
She was on time for her curfew. But it's what she was doing while she was "out" that produced this situation. Well, like someone else said - which is true. At least there's enough money to properly care for the baby. But, look at Poor Britney she has assets at about 140+Million last time I read something. A TON OF MONEY and that didn't mean anything. She lost her kids.

I hope this all works out for her sister.

I completely agree :yes

I don't know how these girls got so messed up. Goodness..

And her mom's book, something to do with good parenting, got postponed indefinitely. Thank goodness. Jeez.
