I would go by what the RTC tells you, and by what your boyfriend says in his letters.. at this point, just wait and see.

So now it's 20080130? I hate how they keep changing it. Maybe since this group of SRs had a delay they're having to spread graduation throughout the week..? I think a lot of them were sitting and waiting in processing for an extra week or something for other recruits to show up...but I dunno. This is getting frustrating.

happy holidays ladies =) from someone that has gone through the whole boot camp deal... very rarely does a recruit get the chance to make contact beyond the "im here and safe" call the day they arrive. atleast for the first 4 weeks or so. i was in great mistakes for almost 5 weeks before we got our first phone call. and there isnt much time to write letters or anything like that. so just hang in there. if anything was wrong... you would know.

as for graduation, they always do grad's on fridays, because that starts "Liberty Weekend" they wont do grads on wednesdays. and only will do grads on thursdays if the friday falls on a holiday. the grad date is not set in stone for the division until they are full and classed up. and are "commissioned" as a division. and i dont mean commissioned as in officer... im talking about commissioning as in being recognized as a unit. then it is roughly 8 weeks from that day. and then you have to pass battle stations before you can officially be eligible to pass in review and graduate. so you are not guaranteed to grad until you pass battle stations. so any dates that you hear are not set in stone... maybe for the division it is... but not for the individual recruit. that being said, just be patient. your soon to be sailor will be done soon. then liberty weekend will be your only chance to spend time with him/her until they get done with "A" or "C" school. and they are grandted some leave between heir school and first duty station. however some get leave before their school. not common however.

believe me, from experience... when they get a chance to make contact... you will hear from them... they havent fallen off the edge of the earth... it just seems like it.

the recruiter doesnt have any contact with RTC except to know when they get there... RTC only has grad dates for the grad group. and beyond that. the only contact a recruiter would have with his recruit is if said recruit sends a letter or postcard to the station. other than that... your best bet is to wait for your sailor, or which ever service your man/woman is in... to contact you. because they will have a better idea of what is going on.

any other questions, please feel free to ask me. especially navy bootcamp, as i work ith a bunch that just got out of there. and can get the real skinny.
