Ok Im going to sound kinda dumb... haha So ive been raised in a somewhat military family. My siblings ect. but now My boyfriend JUST signed up for the military... he is going to MEPS or whatever around the first of January and is going to bootcamp in March. What is bootcamp like?? Will I be able to have phone calls and stuff... Im having a really hard time dealing with this. Im a very attached person... I cant hardly stand to be away from him for 3 days much less a long time. He is going from basic to Mp school... Im just really confused on when we will have time to talk... Hopefully Im not sounding immature... Im just confused on how this works. Military is a really sore spot to me... my brother was an apache helicopter piolet for the army and was killed in 04. So for me Im really going to need support for staying with my guy through all this. we talked about it and since im still in college before he leaves for basic He is getting me an engagment ring to show our love... but it could be awhile before we get married... I just really need some people who has been there and can really be a friend to me... Thanks so much.

Hes actually not going to be able to call alot while in boot, you might be lucky to actually get to talk to him. I know when my dh was in boot, I missed every call because I was at work (they only let them call during the day) but that was the Navy so the other branches might be different. But getting phone calls has to be earned they don't automatically get them. Your best bet will be to write him tons of letters while he is gone to show him that you support him in what he is doing. You can't really send him any care packages while in boot but afterwards in his school you can. I hope that answered some of your questions. I'm sure some of the toher girls can go into more detail.
