He graduates boot camp at the end of this month, we are kinda broke:suspect

does any one know if they get time-off before AIT? he goes some else for AIT

i was planning on making it a road trip...So. CAL to Fort Knox! FUN!

i would only do it if there is a location near the base where i can sleep, a MO-MO!

if any one has any ideas, can u please help? :pray

for me personally, DH had to be on base by the next day, but he got to stay with me that night at a hotel before catching his plane.

i know some people get a little bit of time off.. but i dont know many details on that...

for us, i went down the day before his beret ceremony (which was the day before graduation) so that i would be there for that... he got a pass that day too to go off base with me to wherever (had to stay within 50 miles though i think) and then the next day was graduation... like i said... after the ceremony, he got to leave with me... but he had to catch a plane the next day... when i left to go home.

i would think all bases have cheap motels nearby... do some internet research on the area.

lol! he gets time for family on 24th and graduates 25th of January

My DH graduated from Ft. Knox at the end of September. It's important to know that they cannot leave the base during family day. Coming from Louisville, there were some cheap hotels, but I don't know how safe they would be, especially if you are going by yourself. We stayed at a Best Western that was in Louisville, but was just off of the highway that you need to be on to get to Ft. Knox. My DH went immediately to AIT also, so I think it just depends on when their AIT school starts, some of them may start later where he would have some time off. If you want the number to that Best Western or anything, just pm me, or if you have any other questions!

They dont get time off b4 AIT....
Im going to my DH's grad Feb 26th @ Ft Sill...
He's going to AIT in the same place as BCT
And his grad is ona Thrusday SO i have the
27th [family day] to Sunday March 3rd [i think]
b/c they have the weekend! But if they have to fly to
AIT then they have to leave right after grad.
