Does anyone know how to get extra Navy bootcamp graduation tickets? We would like one more person to be able to go. I heard that extra seats are available first come, first serve. I also heard that others in bootcamp can give away their tickets, but do they actually get tickets? I thought they just get one pass for everyone going for a single recruit. Can anyone enlighten me as to how this works?

I don't know if they are actual tickets. it's been so long I can't remember, it might be a pass. I will ask my dh when he gets home and let you know, unless someone else who recently went to PIR can tell you.

Dh graduated Apr 2004. He was told he got 4 guests and 4 guests only. He turned our names in and we were put on a list. We didn't get actual tickets, our ticket was our name on the list.

On Mike's graduating date, not that many divisions were graduating, so they let whoever in. He did have to put people on a list at one point and it was never used I don't think. We were freaking out thinking that one of us wasn't going to be let in (I went and his family went, there were 5 of us) and Mike said that if that happened, he would have asked one of his friends to put one of our names on their list. Not everyones families go to PIR because they don't have the money, they don't have the family, the family doesn't care (:( We took a few guys in over lib weekend), or because they are getting leave anyways to go home. Mike graduated 2 and half years ago so I'm not sure if it has changed or not!

they tell the recruits they get four names only...and they have to put those names in well in advance. However, they do have a waiting period for the extra people. A fellow recruit can give your DB one of his/her tix. They probably will let you in, however. They check, but they aren't too strict...

Yeah, what everyone says is right. He gets to put four names down on his list, which is only set in stone about 1 week before graduation. In letters, ask your DB or DH (dont know which) to ask around in his division. Usually, there will be someone who is not using any or all of their spaces who can put names down for you guys.

There are first-come-first-serve seats, though I dont really know when they start turning people away. If I were you, I'd want my name on a list, so ask him to ask around. I'm sure it'll work out well if you're proactive about it :)
