DB just found out when he will be leaving for Iraq so I guess it is official. He leaves next weekend for his internship in Atlanta and then a few months after that he leaves for training. Luckily he will be training an hour from where we live now so maybe I can sneak in a trip there to see him. I feel like when he leaves next weekend I won't see him again for a year and a half. I am here alone in this town and it is starting to hit me how alone I will be. I guess it would be easier if I had some friends or family here, but I don't. Maybe I should take up a few hobbies or get a second job to fill the time until he comes home.

Sorry about the friends thing-maybe there are some people on here that are close to you? scrapbooking is a great hobby to get into!!!!

I know how you feel about the being alone feeling...I'm in freaking northern new york in the middle of no where (im from california) and DB is deployed. Like you said just keep yourself busy as much as possible...for one it keeps your mind off of other things and passes time. You'll get through it and definitely come here for support, I love this place...it keeps me sane during this 15 month deployment.

I am going through the SAME thing! My DH was just deployed, and i am very new to this area. I dont really have any close friends. The people i have met here are more drama then anything.....
My Dh has only been gone a month now, I started a 2nd job.... a fun job. and it is helping me a lot! Also i am taking up different activities that help pass the time, like learning how to Kick ass at guitar hero, or learning how to quilt (ha ha) :P
I have also started going to the gym to get that... HOTT bod for my man :)

My DB will probably being deployed around either Sept/Oct sometime. He will be gone a year.I know i will be coming here alot.When he is gone for that year
