I'm just wondering how many of you have loved ones assigned to the USS NIMITZ. My DB reported on ship today, with deployment occurring shortly. I was curious if anyone else is connected to this particular ship.

We're having a get together of girls from here on 1/21 at L&D (I think) Hawaiian BBQ. There's thread about it in the Southwestern forum. My SIL will be with me at it and she's a Nimitz spouse. U should join us!!

OH yea! DB is goin on the Nimitz! I'm gonna be out there the 20th :( to say bye bye for now.

Hubby will be on the Nimitz with his squadron, VFA-14. We just had predeployment briefing tonight =(

I'm actually going to be visiting DB in SD this Friday. I'll return back on Monday. Since he's about to deploy, I can't imagine being able to meet up with anyone else (kissing him endlessly, not coming up for air, barely making time to eat or sleep (haha) but...

I will keep the 21st in mind. I was planning on being out there again on the 23rd...but I could think about changing my flights...Hmmm. I'm getting very excited! People in SD seems so friendly and active on this board. I wish I could live there. I'm so happy to learn you are one of the gals invloved with this ship.

I'll be there around the same time. I guess it would be difficult, but I think it would be great to meet as many of you as possible.

I'm expecting a call from someone connected to the Nimitz wife groups connected to the ship. My SO did me the kindness of letting his CO know that I wanted to be as involved as possible.

Hi Kathy! Jennifer here...=) I am not going to SD for the departure, as I start my new job the same week that he is flying down, but I am planning to be there upon the return of the Nimitz, so any of you that are planning to be there as well, perhaps we can have a get together then.

Hi Kathy, I'll be there for the return too, I'm game for any get togethers...but this pre-deployment one I dont know if I'll be able to get away from DB :) OR his family, cuz they will be out there too...but if I can work it, I'm in!!
