View Full Version : What are your 2008 Financial Resolutions?
Ellen 01-08-2008, 10:46 AM 1. Pay off our debt. We are off to a good start. We did a balance transfer to a 0% account for balance transfers. We were able to consolidate all of our debt (with the exception of the truck and house) into the one account.
2. Increase our Savings (I increased my 401k allocation - woo hoo!!! Pre-tax savings!!!)
3. Save for specific 'big ticket' items. We really would like new livingroom furniture and bedroom furniture. We are hoping to pay cash!

Start a Christmas savings account/plan.

2. Save x amount each month.
3. Start paying double car payments as soon as my school loans and the Star card are paid off.

Continue to put at least 15% of our income into savings each month.
(That's about it. :D )
I know, sort of lame. But, I payed off my truck in 2007, and we don't have any debt. So, for now, save up to buy the bedroom suite of my dreams. :D

3.not buy as much frivolous items.

Save up enough money for the down payment for our next car and double our emergency fund.
Make a trip fund.
Put money aside for school.

Putting so much aside and paying cash for a new living room set and new computer.
Putting so much aside for Christmas fund.
Putting so much aside for trip fund.
Adding to our house fund.

Get outta this SUV and get a smaller more fuel friendly car and have it mostly paid of by the end of next year.
Save extra money to fly my parents in for Christmas!

Keep adding to our emergency funds and other savings.
Bring an extra income from my part.
Save for our next big trip.

Sell our land, which in turn will allow us to pay off our trucks.
Just like everyone else...move towards being debt free.
Start a Roth IRA.

2. Cash or debit card for all purchases.
3. Have emergency funds available at all times.
sweetpea20 01-22-2008, 02:34 PM pay off debt as much as possible. We don't have much as it is but moving last summer and again this summer has caused us to no longer be debt free....we also bought a new vehicle and I'd like to start putting extra towards that to pay it off early.
Short term we plan to spend more cash...set a cash amount for our spending and that's it. No more use of the debit card for small purchases - no cash, no purchase (like Starbucks....for example lol)
