Or he's just not a public speaker. Is it right that they don't have the guy yet? he just seems pissed at the reporters. I think he really got into the case. :dunno and no the suspect has fled town. Victoria 01-11-2008, 12:40 PM was her body buried? See..what I'm confused about is that the Sheriff did mention her body is buried. I guess they're out looking for it NOW.... I *think* the suspect in the rape case is the one who killed her....the superior officer. Jen 01-11-2008, 12:40 PM they said he was only one step over her, not super superior RunAwayLove 01-11-2008, 12:41 PM wait they dont even have her body? allypooh 01-11-2008, 12:41 PM omg! i'm watching it on cnn.com. that poor girl. oh my god, yesterday they were making it seem like she was a liar and just doing this for attention. wow. i can't believe this now... marinewife_sd 01-11-2008, 12:42 PM See..what I'm confused about is that the Sheriff did mention her body is buried. RunAwayLove 01-11-2008, 12:44 PM what in the world how weird someone just called up and said hey that missing marine shes been buried...? apparently missing alot fo this didnt help... bleh Camp Lejeune is my home i cant beleive all of this si going on esp most likely Marines hurting another Marine? Mrs.Highfill 01-11-2008, 12:44 PM This is so sad! marinewife_sd 01-11-2008, 12:45 PM Ok sheriff just said a witness told the police that they were told by the suspect that she was dead and buried. The press confrence is annoying me though. I hate how reporters ask the same question over and over but in a different way. If they cant answer that one they probably cant answer the other one. Just respect that they are not putting out the info at this time rosebud* 01-11-2008, 12:46 PM I know!!!! It wouldn't be so confusing if it wasn't still an on-going investigation.; therefore too many details cannot be released. it is also how they are going about the story, it's like not in any order. I wish they would just give a break down of what they can say. i mean i just heard that they got a tip from a witness. allypooh 01-11-2008, 12:46 PM so they don't have a body right? are they looking? marinewife_sd 01-11-2008, 12:46 PM what in the world how weird someone just called up and said hey that missing marine shes been buried...? apparently missing alot fo this didnt help... bleh Camp Lejeune is my home i cant beleive all of this si going on esp most likely Marines hurting another Marine? SHE WALKED IN THE BUS STATION and bought a bus ticket. The bus ticket WAS NOT used...they WONT SAY OFFICIALLY how she was killed. The suspect is gone. They have a lead from someone unknown on Camp Lejune but they have tangible evidence of what has happened. Gosh this is so :tears marinewife_sd 01-11-2008, 12:49 PM The suspect is a superior NCO.....CPL Cesar Armando Lauren I'm wondering where the hell can he go and not be found. rosebud* 01-11-2008, 12:50 PM I'm wondering where the hell can he go and not be found. well he took off in his own car. so anywhere really. Did the cop say he is going home depressed? RunAwayLove 01-11-2008, 12:55 PM and why in the WORLD would he broadcast his cell # on tv...? It's something the cops put on the car to check for finger prints Victoria 01-11-2008, 12:57 PM oh ok! Meant to say with THE mother, not her. :( rosebud* 01-11-2008, 12:57 PM They may not have a photo available yet. :( that seems so weird considering he was a quasi suspect for so long. :shrug I mean he has an 8 hour head start on the cops and the best they can give us is that he drives a black dodge truck and his tag number. :no marinewife_sd 01-11-2008, 12:57 PM sure did Ohhhhhh Noooooooo :sadeyes :tears *MarineBug420* 01-11-2008, 12:58 PM Thank goodness the chick on CNN just recognized everyone is confused and stated they are going to try and lay it out better Pebbles 01-11-2008, 12:59 PM :lmao he just gave out his cell number on national news :rofl Call it :lol :eek Victoria 01-11-2008, 12:59 PM See, the word murder wasn't ever used, from what I can recall. This whole thing has my mind boggling! :nutts omg i didnt even think about that wow marinewife_sd 01-11-2008, 01:04 PM He could have "his" baby with him... It would be a miracle if her and baby is still alive :pray Devinn 01-11-2008, 01:05 PM Call it :lol :eek I thought about it :rofl rosebud* 01-11-2008, 01:06 PM they are presuming the baby dead as well. I don't think they have any evidence that suggest otherwise. Since we don't know when she died or when the witness found out the info I wouldn't count on him having the baby with him kwim.. if that was even a possibility I would hope they would have that all over the news that would be an amber alert. CAmom4721 01-11-2008, 01:08 PM See, the word murder wasn't ever used, from what I can recall. She very well could've died from childbirth then the bastard buried her?!? Did they find her body? if not, how do they know she's dead? officially have no body, they received a tip from someone who was told by the suspect that she was dead and buried and where. make sense. they are going to go and look for her body now. carmel11725 01-11-2008, 01:10 PM a "witness" said she had been buried in some woods somewhere ooohhh. ok. and they have no clue who this witness is? crewchiefwife 01-11-2008, 01:11 PM theres a "source" close to the victim and the "suspect" that said they know where shes buried and the guy whos missing buried her...maybe it was the "source" who did it ashley5 01-11-2008, 01:11 PM :sadeyes rosebud* 01-11-2008, 01:11 PM ooohhh. ok. and they have no clue who this witness is? they do they are just not saying. Devinn 01-11-2008, 01:13 PM they are presuming the baby dead as well. I don't think they have any evidence that suggest otherwise. However unlikely that the baby is alive... not really, not if it would taint them finding HIM or getting the baby back alive...not to mention he hasnt been charged with anything. If they sent out an amber alert who's to say he wouldnt kill that baby? Devinn 01-11-2008, 01:15 PM That's what I was wondering too! He said there were twists and turns in the story that I am guessing they can't tell us. Kaiden'sMomma 01-11-2008, 01:21 PM I'm so confused. Did they actually find her dead body? Devinn 01-11-2008, 01:32 PM The Sherriff just said that the witness brought in PHYSICAL EVIDENCE !! I'm thinking it was the weapon. She was pregnant and a Marine...this is horrible. Fidzy 01-11-2008, 01:33 PM Yeah, I watched it live on MSNBC... so sad.. but unfortunately, not surprising. There is no other tangible evidence that would give the conclusion that she's dead. honestly who knows, if they haven't even found the body then they don't know how she was killed so a weapon would be kinda not good enough I would think. it's all soo confusing. Investigators search for the body of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach Friday. 1 of 3 There's a "strong indication" of human remains in the cavity, said District Attorney Dewey Hudson. Detectives have found what "appeared to be burnt human remains." On CNN.com ... Police believe they have found the remains of a missing Marine buried in the backyard of the primary suspect in the case, authorities said Friday evening. "We think that we have found what would be the skeletal remains [of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach]," Onslow County District Attorney Dewey Hudson told reporters. While authorities will not know for sure until Saturday, "there are certainly some strong indicators that there are human remains" buried in the cavity, he said. http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/01/11/missing.marine/index.html ChewiesBaby 01-11-2008, 08:25 PM Like a body cavity. The shell of a carcass. As horrible as that sounds... that's the reference that they are making. The "cavity" shows strong signs of human remains, which could either mean, organs or the fetus/baby. :dunno define 01-11-2008, 08:29 PM WTF?!?! :confuzzle According to reports on Nancy Grace, the suspect left a note for his wife stating that she committed suicide and he buried her body. ChewiesBaby 01-11-2008, 09:07 PM My theory is that the baby was his and she was leaving. Her mother was not supporting her, everyone was calling her a pathological liar. She either told him it was his or he figured it was his and that he had to do something before she left because the baby was proof that they were sexually involved. He killed her, came up with the suicide crap to try to cover and then hit the road. Some reposts are saying the body was burnt which would be his attempt to make it so that they couldn't test the baby after they found her? Pretty sick. I hope the police find some answers once they get that guy in custody I agree...something is off. As much as I hate to say it....just because she has come up dead doesnt mean that her mother or stepmother or whatever she is was lying about her. I mean, I feel as bad for her and that poor baby as everyone else ...but... The girl very well may have been a pathological liar. Especially considering she filed rape charges and was still in "relations" with the guy....seeking him out right up until he killed her. Its all very strange. ChewiesBaby 01-11-2008, 10:01 PM Well, it's very well possible that she wasn't "raped" and that he was having an affair with her.... one that would be confirmed with the birth of that child. Maybe she was just saying goodbye or maybe she was telling him that she was telling everyone when the baby was born? Yes, the story is odd but it's a love triangle apparently, at least it seems that way to me, and crimes of passion never make much sense. JudyB 01-11-2008, 10:02 PM So they are saying they found a body....at this point considering how far along she was wouldn't it be bodies??? How come nothing is being said about the unborn baby?? They said that you could tell that they tried to clean it up and what they couldn't get off the walls someone painted over it. I have a bad feeling about the wife. At the end of the conference the sheriff said that this was going to end with a whole lot more to it than a murder and a burial that there was going to be some surprises. It said the wife found a note from Laurean this morning (after he left) saying Lauterbach slit her own throat (?!?!?!) .. hence why the wife just found out... And Lauterbach's uncle said she did not have a relationship with Laurean and she had to live off-base because she was being harassed... This case is going to be all sorts of messed up by the time all the facts come out. Devinn 01-11-2008, 10:33 PM So I read an update from the Associated Press. Do u know how almost IMPOSSIBLE it is for someone to slit their own throat enough to KILL themselves? Its not like slitting ur wrists. I think the wife may have been in on this.
