Ladies, I've loved chatting with you so regularly. But now I'm logging off for the weekend. I'm catching the next flight out to San Diego. :cp

I get to see my DB!! It's one of the last chances I get before he deploys. If I'm lucky, I'll also get my first tour of a carrier! (Besides the Midway, I mean.)

I just wanted to say I'll miss you all, and hope to meet up with some of you in the SD in the future.

Sending BIG love!
Kathy

Oh my gosh, I don't know how to feel, now that I've returned back home again. :sigh

There were pre-deployment jitters and somehow, too, there were anxieties about our relationship surfacing that I had never voiced to him before. I cried way more than I ought to have about our upcoming separation.

Although he said he felt the same as me inside, he had to remind me that crying before a deployment is like crying before you get a shot. He also said it lengthens the deployment period if you get sad weeks sooner than the ship actually leaves.

I know he was right, but I couldn't stop crying. I often have trouble separating my heart from my brain as he can. The good times were pure bliss. I know that life without seeing him will never be so sweet. This weekend, my emotions ran away from me.

On the plus side, my tour of the Nimitz was extraordinary. Add to that, the city of San Diego is positively heavenly in my opinion. People are friendly, the beaches are beautiful, the weather is mild and the homes are charming. I also enjoy everything about hanging on a base. It was an ideal weekend...not to mention THE CHARGERS WON!

Lucky you! I dream of landing there one day. Leaving San Diego and getting on board my return flight this morning absolutely broke my heart.

It seems there's quite a few on this board who live there. You are really are fortunate.
