his graduation is in a little over a month. Can any one tell me what goes on and what usually happens after? Like does he automatically leave to wherever he's supposed to be stationed or does he have some time to come home. Also ne ideas on what to wear?

IT depends. Usually they have family day the day before graduation and will get an off base pass for most of the day (have to be back by 9pm, i think) and then graduation day, the ceremony will be in the morning and then they'll ship straight from there to their AIT destinations. You normally will get to see them for maybe 5 minutes to snap a few photos after the graduation and then they're on busses and going to their AIT.

Some companies will have their Family Pass on graduation day and then would be off after graduation until 9pm and ship out first thing the next morning, but I believe family day the day before is the norm.

What I've heard is that it is sort of dressy-casual. So something nice, but not too nice.

time off in between is rare, I think. I've heard of it happening but not often.

i think you usually go to training for your job, i dunno for the navy you get 2 weeks after your training before you get stationed somewhere

where is your SO graduating from? The weather will definitely determine what you should wear! You should also find out if it will be indoors or outdoors.

It really depends. Dh had his family day and we got him all day until 9:00, and then on graduation day we also got him until 9:00, and then he went to his ait the next morning.

He will get family day then also before graduation don't expect any calls or hardly any letters from him. They are sent out into the field for tests and are out there for about 3 days straight. They sleep out there and everything.

He doesn't leave right away. After Graduation they get about 10 days to go home and spend time with their families. After that amount of time they are to report to their stations.
