With tax time around the corner, I want to get our ducks in a row real soon and figure out where we are getting our taxes done.

In the past we let the Navy do them for free, and last year I did them myself. This year, there's no way I can do them online. There is way too much involved.

Of course our financial advisor is telling us to use the tax attorney that works for his office...that would cost over $1,000. No way :arg He told us NOT to use a place like H&R Block, but I don't know why :dunno

I know there will be a lot of paperwork involved, because we have more than just 401k's. Does anyone else have suggestions?

TIA!!!

Hmm...maybe he's trying to put some $ into his friend's pocket! I've never had problems with H&R Block.

I'm sure he benefits if we use her. But I've been told by other people not to use a place like H&R Block. Not because they are bad, but because we have so much involved.

H&R block simply uses something like turbo tax. Its almost fool proof. The things is they will only go by what the computer says, in other words if you qualify for something that isn't on the program or what not then it won't pop up. Maybe try an independent accountant?

H&R Block is reputable (can get pricey is you have complex things to process) but there's a $30 piece of mind that is kind of cool. I'd say do them on base, but if you don't feel comfortable. I'd suggest H&R Block personally.

That's an idea too. Independent Accountant in your local area would be a reputable informative source and probably not as expensive as H&R Block. I'd say do this first, if no luck - than go to H&R Block. Rosebud's right.

& remember, you can claim what you pay in accountant fees this year on next year's taxes.
