i used to be a maid (for a week :lol) but they didn't really have any secrets except for commercial stregnth cleaner and hours of scrubbing (thus the reason i only was there a week)

it smells at first but then it will dissipate. use a fan if you have to.

Oh I will have to..ROFL
So just rub it on and then that's it. DO I need to rinse??

KABOOM! seriously, go get some Kaboom, spray it on and let it it soak for about 5-10 minutes...scrub it off.

voila! all shiny again.

OR...my mom uses a paste of baking soda and water to shine up aluminum and chrome...I found it to be too much trouble but it DOES work really well.

Neither the Baking Soda or the Vinegar worked. I literally just wiped the baking soda off and NO change and on the other side where the vinegar was soaking no change.. :(

well u have to kinda scrub the baking soda in..after u let it sit for a minute...kinda like ajax, kwim?

I never found vinegar to be very effective on things like that but then, I cant stand the smell long enough to let anything "soak"

Make sure you spot test any chemical you use... Aluminum can discolor really easily, and the finish can get stripped off..

thats true!

:edit it could be that thats not hard water stains. if the house was previously owned or rented, it might be that someone has already screwed up the aluminum. :dunno

best lime scale remover is the works. they make it for tubs & showers & a separate one for toilets. be sure to spot test it tho!

try listerine or maybe even straight lysol out of the can...........with the lysol just dry the bottom of the shower really well and then spray the heck out of it and let it sit for a few minutes and then clean it up

I agree though that maybe the damage has already been done by the people previous to you guys and if that's the case it may not come up.

You could always check with Lowes or HD to see if there is an appliance paint and sealer you can put down on it :yes

Comet seems to work well with tough stains in the shower

I bought some Power of Green at the commissary. I'm not for sure if it would work for hard water stains but I use it for lots of stuff in our house...I don't dilute it...and it doesn't smell half bad either.
