I'm already married and everything, but I was sitting in church this morning and my mind wandered to our vows. So I was wondering, did you write your own, did you use the typical ones, or what did you use??

These were ours:

I take you ___, to be my (husband/wife), loving you now and as you grow and develop into all that God intends. I will love you when we are together and when we are apart; when our lives are at peace and when they are in turmoil; in times of rest and in times of work. I will honor your goals and dreams and help you to fulfill them. From the depth of my being, I will seek to be open and honest with you. I say these things believing that God is in the midst of them all.


We did those mainly because of that line and it's relevance to us and the military.

I like those! totally fitting of the military.

we're getting married in a catholic church, so i'm not sure if i'm allowed to change them much. i would really like to write our own... but i don't want to get my hopes up until i know for sure.

when and if i get married, i would want to write my own.

db really wants us to write our own, so i suppose that's our plan... i didn't care much either way!

We did the traditional vows and then we said our own vows when he asked if we had anything to say.
