So this is a letter I sent DB tonight. He's great about IM - not so much about email and letters. I've been reading posts on here about guys not being mind readers and so I decided to include a few "hints" about some things that I want and some outright requests. What do y'all think?
NOTE: there is more than a little sarcasm in a few spots but that's just how we roll. *giggle*
Hey baby - let's try something new - I'll email you and you can respond. *giggle* I hear sweethearts have been doing it for THOUSANDS of years.
Hello Darling, it's Sunday night and you are probably freezing your toes off. It's cold here but not miserable and it should be pretty tomorrow (63).
I meant to tell you the other night but I forgot and so I'm telling you now... I don't know when you'll get the break to come home but there are several really important days that I'm going to be tied up (and not by you). I will drop everything and move heaven AND earth to be with you while you are home but these are my non-negotiables. I can't move these things. These may not even be relevant b/c I don't know when you are coming home. Ugh, have I told you lately how bad I am at NOT knowing things? *laugh* Why do I get the feeling you aren't particularly moved or impressed by my not-so-subtle ploy? *grin*
February 17-20 - I will be at a conference in Houston, for work. I'll be staying at the Westin Galleria. *wink*
February 22 - My baby brother graduates from the Arlington Police Academy. He won't be at the top of his class b/c he missed so much during his hospital stay and recovery but he'll be a bona fide Police Officer - I'm so proud of him!
March 16-20 - I am taking M to New Jersey to see her father and his family for Spring Break. Mom and I are going to stay up there and spend three days in NY City.
Do you have any clue as to when you'll be home? If you are staying another year, when will that counter start? Give me something to count toward, baby.
I've been thinking about the things I would like and I've decided to make you a list. That way, if you want to do something sweet for me, you'll know what I want. See how helpful I can be?
If you ever are seized by the overwhelming desire to send me flowers for any reason (oh, like a birthday or something silly like just to tell me you love me) - I love yellow roses. And tulips. I'm telling you, the day you showed up at my door with that single long-stemmed rose was one of the best days of my life.
If you are going to stay another year over there, I would like one of your shirts to sleep in. I've thought often about wishing I had something of yours and I probably should have gotten something like that from you before you left but I didn't know you were leaving in DECEMBER, did I? *laugh*
I was thinking of having something made for you that you could wear on your dogtags - would you wear it? Call me crazy but I'd probably wear your dogtags if I had some. Just to keep you close to me.
When you come home, I want to take lots of pictures - do you know we have NO pictures together? Not a single one. And that's just sad.
(sidenote: speaking of pictures and dogtags - I can see a picture of me, in your dogtags and nothing else)
I want pictures of you in your uniform. I've asked you this before and you sent me one and it had a big freakin' gun in it. LOL It's kind of hard to see past the gun to YOU! Now, the gun is in your lap and that just takes my mind to a WHOLE OTHER PLACE, which is fine, but I'll be danged if anybody else is going to go there too... *grin* Besides, that picture with the gun isn't one I'm going to put in a frame on my desk. *giggle*
I want to know the names of the guys (and girls, if any) you work with. I want to pray for them, by name. This isn't really a request - it's important. I'm adopting all of them. If they are your kids, then they are mine too.
Ok, I think that's bossy enough for one email. I love you so much, my heart. I am so proud to be your girlfriend and I am very proud of you. I look forward to the day that I can be in your arms again.
I can't wait to get your REPLY to this email. You do remember how to reply? It's that little button at the top of the message screen.... *kiss*
Love you,
me
:teehee
