View Full Version : Navy girlfriend...
QUGal07 04-16-2006, 01:48 AM So I'm defintely a newbiee....I stumbled on this website and I really think its a great site! I'm still very young and my boy and I have been together for about 8 months now and he offically leaves for San Diego comes May. I was hoping there are more girlfriends out there who went through the same thing. After reading a lot of the posts I'm afraid to that I don't know realize what I'm gettin myself into...seems really hard to be a miltary girlfriend/wife. Hoping to see the bright side of things...

Hi Gina! Thank you for starting a post for newbies, I just came across this site and I too, just joined. It is really nice to know that there is a place that we can go for support. Being with someone who is in the military and is gone is hard, in my opinion. My Sailor and I are going through the same thing. We are on total opposite sides of the country (I live in california and he is stationed in Florida) and sometimes it just hurts to be so far away. Right now he is out on deployment preparing for when he will be gone for six months in September. I think that if you are with the right person, and you really love them, you can overcome any time and distance to be with them and do whatever you have to do. I know that as long as I need to be waiting for him I will be because I firmly believe he is the one I am supposed to spend the rest of my life with. The only thing I have a hard time with is that none of my friends understand how hard it is for him to be gone, and so you miss having that kind of support. If you ever need someone to talk to who is new to that whole navy girlfriend experience, send me a message. I could use the new friends too! And to everyone else, thank you for setting up a website and reminding me that there are other women going through the exact same thing as me and we will get through it!!!
Nicole, age 25, Navy girlfriend, Bakersfield, CA
Lqhawkins03 02-19-2008, 11:13 AM Hello my name is LaQuisha and I am a navy girlfriend. Me and my navy boy has been together for nine months. He had to go on a deployment in august we hooked up in june therfore we only spent 21 days together. It sucks but If you have the right people around you while dealing with this ordeal and have a positive attitude its ok. My baby is back in the states and i will be flying out to be with him tomorrow. Im also going to relocate until next year. I am currently from dallas texas. So if there is anyone out there that would like to talk feel free to email me lqhawkins03@yahoo.com and maybe I can help you through this. I am a very SENSATIVE person so I know if I can get through this anyone can!
Lqhawkins03 02-19-2008, 11:16 AM hey how are you? Well im new at this also! So if you want maybe we could talk sometimes.
Kelly Michelle 02-19-2008, 11:24 AM Hey there! And :weldust
My name is Kelly! My boyfriend is an Army Ranger currently deployed to Iraq. You've found an awesome place for support! We have a lot of fun here too! The site is filled with wonderful ladies who can help you through almost anything you're going through, so feel free to create a thread or PM me if you need anything, or have questions!
I'd also like to invite you to read our OPSEC page to keep you & your S.O. safe, being that this is an unofficial site:

i am a newbie navy girlfriend too. well my db went to bootcamp a month ago. so im basically learning everything too. Im only 19 which i suppose your close to that too. I somewhat thought that this is too hard but i've been with my db for 5 years and im not ready to give that up. one thing since this month me and my db have both realized how much we love eachother and how much we want to stay together. I know it will be hard. Im not going to marry him til he's out, and we're going to live in diff states but if you BOTH want it to work it will. if you need anything im here
USNAgf 04-24-2008, 12:19 PM i'm a newbie!! My db is a younster (second year) at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. We've been dating for a month almost, one of my good friends is also at the Academy and db is his room mate so he set us up and it's been great!! Due to the strict schd. they have and summer training i'm not gonna get to see db until end of June or end of July. I know it's not near as bad as alot of ya'll it's just really hard b/c we just started dating and i just wanna be with him. I know we will make it...i wouldn't have agreed to dating if i didn't think we could...it's just hard and i really miss him ALOT!!!!
GO NAVY BEAT ARMY!!!!!

♥Amberlynn♥ 11-14-2008, 02:40 PM I dont know why, but I thought I already replied to this. I guess not. I too am a newbie on here. And I am my DB is in the Navy as well. I'm 18, he just turned 22. He's on his second deployment right now, and will be back in 8 days. Just long enough for the holidays though. Then he leaves for 7 months. I've been with him about 5 months, but have been afiliated with the navy since my best friend was in power school back in 04'. Yes, its hard sometimes to be a girlfriend/spouse/finacee of a military man. But, it's worth it. You just gotta be strong.
And Welcome to the site. :yahoo
