How soon before the end of a deployment did you find out about an extension if you got extended????

well we've never been extended...but during DF's last deployment, he said some of the guys found out about their extensions 2 weeks before they were due home.

Dh was extended durning his last deployment and we found out about a month and a half before he was due home.

DF found out about 4-5 months before his scheduled end of tour that he was being extended..

Last deployment we found out about 5 weeks ahead of time.

our extention was in the news before he was informed. that pissed me off. either way, in the first 4 months he was gone homecoming got pushed back 3 times... they last time is when it was in the news first.

We just found out on Saturday that he'll be extended. About 4months berfore he was due home. :grumpy

This deployment was supposed to be 12 months. We found out a few months in, maybe sometime in May, which would put them four months into the deployment, that they were being extended to 15 months.

im so sorry for all of youthat got extended :hugs... and :pray for everyone else who hasnt yet that your men DONT (including mine!)

2 guys in DH's unit found out about 1 month into their deployment that they would be extended by like 2 months or so. So that would have been 5 months before homecomming.

about 3 months into the deployment...so it was like we started all over again...boo...good luck!

When John was on deployment his ship got extended before they ever even left. They didn't tell the guys until the ship had left. They were extended a second time for a month and they told eveyone pretty early. It had something to do with marines that were attached to the ship.

They gave DH about a month's notice. They kept telling the guys they would go home the next month and it never happened. That happened for about 4-5 months in a row. It was so hard not knowing what was going on!

Well, I'm not sure where it was at, I think it was here but I'm probably wrong LOL, but there were some guys who actually came home, had homecoming and then were told they were getting extended... so they couldn't leave and in the next 24 hours they were back on a plane.
