I was going to say something about everyone coming down on the military for "not protecting her enough"...but I think I will just let the article speak.

I think he's just some sick fuck that she and her baby had the tragic misfortune to encounter.

JACKSONVILLE, N.C. - A 20-year-old pregnant Marine who disappeared in December told victims' advocates at Camp Lejeune that she didn't feel unsafe in the presence of the colleague now wanted in her death, Marine Corps officials said Tuesday.

Marine Cpl. Cesar Armando Laurean never violated the military protective order directing him to stay away from Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, and he continued to report for work on time in the weeks after her disappearance, said Col. Gary Skolowski, the judge advocate general officer for the II Marine Expeditionary Force.

"At no time did she indicate that she was threatened by Cpl. Laurean," Skolowski said. "When she was asked if she felt threatened by Cpl. Laurean, she said she did not feel threatened."

Authorities confirmed Tuesday that remains found over weekend in a fire pit in Laurean's backyard were those of Lauterbach and her fetus. Dr. Charles Garrett, the Onslow County medical examiner, said Lauterbach, who was eight months pregnant when she vanished, died of "traumatic head injury due to blunt force trauma."

well then read this one that says she had a protective order taken out on him. he wasnt allowed to contact her at all, even through a third party and wasnt allowed within 1000 feet of her.

yes I know...the article I posted addressed that protective order.

Its apparently becoming not as cut and dry as everyone thought it was.

btw, no one knows why he was at the bus station...we shouldnt automatically assume that he was stalking her.

Heres the part that talks about it... " Lauterbach had accused Laurean of raping her. She had a protective order against Laurean, but it expired September 24, military records show.

In the military protective order, Laurean was forbidden from contacting Lauterbach in any manner, including through a third party, and ordered to stay at least 1,000 feet from her.

The order also showed Lauterbach and Laurean worked in the same unit at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. "

They (the military) I think does that automatically. I had a RO against the man that raped me fat lot of good it did. He didn't follow it and no one would force him to follow it. If I was eating at the dining hall and he came in I was the one that had to leave instead of him. Same for every where I went on base. I didn't feel threatened but I did feel intimidated and unsafe. Just guessing she may have felt some what the same way.

The best part that absolute CREAM on the cake was when they put me in legal hold WITH him. Took them four days to figure it out and then they moved me to a different work place BUT we were in the same dorms. Yeah they followed the RO really well. At that point I was so beat down from already having put up with one and half months of him breaking the RO, them not caring, and the nasty rumors milling around about me on base I didn't have the nerve to say anything to anyone about the damn RO. The military has its on method of beating you down thats for sure.

So basically I think the military at this point will say what ever it is they think will paint them in a pretty light. I don't believe them not one bit.

I think, Devinn correct me if I am wrong ok? (not being bitchy just what I have gleaned from all of your posts on this issue) is that Devinn doubts the rape happened or something along those lines. I think she may feel that the Marine felt backed into a corner by the victims lies and retaliated to silence her?

I understand that, and from what I have read in other interviews, her mother said she had a history of lying. I do believe he stalked her though and killed her....

Maybe he likes buses. Or stalking and killing. Or maybe he was taking a vacation from the latter.

:yes close enough

Well of course he killed her....thats pretty obvious. I'm not going to presume to know if he stalked her or not....apparently from everything I've read and heard, they were friendly with each other, she didnt feel threatened...I think an affair is just as possible as a stalking :dunno

She was headed to El Paso, and strangely enough...he was spotted in Shreveport headed west into/or across...Texas....

See I don't know that I would take the step mother's word as gospel truth either. (I thought it was the step mother saying that stuff)

I think you're right about it being the step mother....and who knows exactly what happened as of this point. I just think it is incredibly unlikely that it was a coincidence that he happened upon the bus station at the same time she did.

I wasnt making fun of your thoughts, I was laughing at and making fun of the QUOTED text. I didnt say crap about YOUR views at ANY point. I am not like that. I think you need to go take a chill pill and read what I wrote TO someone else and not YOU. If I was directing it at you then YOU would be quoted and I would make it VERY obviously clear then it was TO/ABOUT you. But thanks for ASSuming.
