I couldnt stand to listen to the whole thing. The dude has lost his mind. There were some parts where if you look at his eyes, he seems totally possessed. :oogle

I mean ok he has a belief that some people don't and that is fine but to try make everyone believe in what he believes is what bugs me. I hate it when ANY person does that with something they believe. The way he acts is what makes him freaky. I don't care what he believes that is great that he believes in something but he is just freaky about it.

I have to add that after going to the scientology website to try and figure out what the hell it is they believe I do agree with some of the things they believe in. I am not a Scientologist but some of the things on there do make sense to me like the effects of drugs and chemicals on the human body. I don't take it as far as they do but they do have some valid beliefs to me. But he still acts hella crazy when he talks about it lol. He is like a religious fanatic. :lol

So... he has lost a hold of reality because he was going on about changing our reality for a new one... That was towards the end of the video. I sat through that whole thing. He has become a zealot which is no different than any other religion, they have their people who kick it up a notch or 2.

I LOVED him in Top Gun. He's completely :screwy now. I didn't read/watch the clip, but the sofa jumping just threw me over the edge. Katie Holmes is a whole 'nother thread.

:yes Exactly. I think their beliefs are interesting and I agree with a few things but Tom is just a believer that is fanatical about it which makes their beliefs look crazy. He is no different then other people who are fanatical when it comes to their own religions. ;)

Scientology is based on dianetics ... Dianetics a method of dealing (or "self healing") with your personal issues by going over certain memories related to that situation ... over and over ... until you start to understand why you feel that way...And once you understand why you feel those feelings hten you can control them better. (That's the fundamentals of it, anyway...I know nothing more than that, really..I don't know anything about scientology - just the basics of dianetics)

All of his "we can help" "we want to help" "we can fix" ... it's all him talking about this "self healing" dianetic process.
Before Cruise the great lunatic took it over I attended a dianetic's seminar - it's interesting - more about getting to know yourself and your memories than anything else.

They (Scientologist's) took this new-age form of self-therapy to a bizarre new level and ruined it, really.

I can explain how dianetics works if you'd like, but it's complicated and confusing if you're not already interested into self therapy and so on.

And I'm sorry but There are things that Christians do that strike me as very odd but I'm not going to go and bash christanity or call a preacher a nutter.

Exactly thank you. :) He is no different than any other religious person who is really into what they believe. He is just a deeply religious person but some people don't think of Scientology as being a religion since it's so new but it is.

I agree with you even though watching him now and knowing how he used to be kinda freaks me out. It would be the same if I was sitting there talking about being a Pagan. Some people would probably think I am off my rocker.

It's just frustrating to me. B/c if I had this same thread up only instead of it being Tom Cruise in the video it was some peacher or what not. Which I'm sorry alot of the word of god seems VERY odd to me. And people were like OMGosh what a nutter or what not. You know how many people would flip the F out. OMGosh you are saying bad things abotu god and blah blah blah. BUT b/c this is scientolgy it's totally ok to bash it. Hypocritical if you ask me.

I am with you Berkley. I think Tom Cruise is nuts, but to me, it has nothing to do with what he believes. I think if you filmed him speaking about anything, he would sound a bit crazy, because in my opinion he is a few fingers short of a handshake. I am not going to go label all people who practice Scientology on the same page as Tom Cruise.

I watched it twice and I"m still not really sure what he was talking about. Maybe because I don't really know much about scientology but I tried to look that up on wikipedia and didn't really grasp what the heck it's about. Maybe I am dense and experiencing preggo brain but none of it was making any sense. I still have no clue what scientology is and I'm very confused about nearly everything he was talking about. All I really got out of it was he said he had to help a LOT. :lol

Well - Tom Cruise, unfortunately, is the front runner for Scientology exposure - and every chance he's had to "expose" people to it - he acts like a total spaz...Thus, he makes the religion seem like it's nothing but crazy stuff. (That's the chance that you take when you allow a world-famous actor be the PR go to guy for your religion)

Scientology is very new - so new that it really isn't considered a religion, more of a "way of living" type of thing - Hubbard "invented it" in 1952 ... and a lot of countries still don't recognize it as a religion.
I don't either.
I recognize it as a way of changing your life and like a living guidebook - but religion? Absolutely not.
There is no "bible" of any kind to it - there is no "god" or "faith" ... it's a "religion" based on what one guy thought when he woke up one day :rolleyes

LOL - how did that first day of Scientology go? Did it start with a night of heavy drinking and a bad hangover the next day?
