I have a set of each and prefer the nonstick most of the time. :D

It depends on if someone (like my dh) is going to ruin your nonstick surface with metal forks.
In the stainless set your frying pans are still nonstick.

thats why i'm kinda leaning towards the stainless, because the pans are still non stick. i guess we'll see how much more money i'll get for christams, and decide then :)

We have a stainless steel set that we got for our Wedding (worth over $500), and a non-stick Cook's Essentials Blue hardcoat enamel set that I got from QVC, that I only paid $130 for. The non-stick by far is the BEST. Not only for cooking, but especially for cleaning. I spend 3 times as much time cleaning the stainless steel than I do the non-stick. And when you burn something in the stainless, it sticks like superglue, where as the non-stick, it almost slides out. So, yeah, can you tell, I'm bitter about our stainless steel set . . . I'm about ready to pitch them, but Troy won't let me, because he was surprised anyone bought it off our registry. LOL! We use metal spatulas on our non-stick, as well as forks, too and I think the non-stick surface is really thick or something, because we never get scratches in ours. (But the real reason I got the QVC ones were for the "smart" knob technology, because I hate getting steam burns when you open the lid. And plus they were within the price I was willing to pay for a set. LOL!)
Just checked to see if they had my set there, still . . . I think they sold out for the holidays, because they only have a set without the smart knobs, and only one 6 qt. stock pot with the smart knob for $28, which was actually included in the set that I bought.
