.... DB called yesterday and was sooooo excited over the package that i sent him last week. i sent him a really soft twin blanket, a good-quality pillow and a set of jersy sheets!

i just wanted him to have some comforts of home, but he REALLY appreciated it. he told me that at his camp they never issued his troops pillows and they had all been folding up sweatshirt to use for pillows! he also said that the bed sheets are like sandpaper.... and said that his buddies and him all joke and say "dont roll over while you sleep, you might get a brushburn!". :hehe

anyways.... just wanted to share an idea to send over if anybody's SO's recently deployed :D

AWW, who knew they would be so miserable. way to "take care" of our troops, that is one thing that pisses me off about our GOV. everyone thinks the military family has it all but they really have no idea! Anyway, thanks for giving me a great idea to tell my family, they were asking what they needed, my DH is on a ship so he always takes the first comforter we bought together after marriage and moving in,(a long time ago) I have had to sew the seams alot but he loves it, it is comfy and has touches of love and home in it:)

Thats a great idea I dont really know what they have or dont have over there and I never want to send too much bc then I figure it will be hard for him to bring it all back....maybe sending an extra bag too haha.

thats a good idea! i asked my db if he needed anything in my package & he only needed socks & said his mom took care of that. i asked him "did she get you the pink fuzzy kind?!" he said "heck yeah! the ones with the toes!" i know he was just kidding, so i put in a pair of fuzzy pink toe socks! we'll see how he likes that when the package gets there! he also said to climb into a box & go over there. so since thats a definite NO (haha) i got a blow up doll, filled it with helium (so it would rise out of the box!) & taped a picture of my face to it!! ME Version 2.0!
OH! P.S. NOT a sex doll!!! a barbie one! dont need that going to a camp full of men!

i was actually thinking of sending DB a good blanket cause i'm sure the ones on the ship aren't very nice...hmm maybe i'll do that...thanks! :D
