I live in a town that is over run w/ crazies...We're talking like anti- TROOP protests, protests at military funerals...The works...these people are bad! Anyway, after awhile- I've taken pride for granted. Of course I'm proud of my hubby and all the men and women in uniform.... But it just seemed like no one else (at least out here) was! Anyway, I was flying w/ my little daughter to Tennessee to see some family. While in Chicago, I was informed my plane had left and there wouldn't be another one until the next day. I started crying...I couldn't help it, but my daughter was crying, no one was answering my questions as far as what I should do! (Also, I was running out of diapers and food for my baby!!) I should also mention here that I was wearing my Army Wife sweatshirt! Anyway, and man came up to me and said, "Is your husband in the military?" I said yes, and he said, "You know, the troops are number one in my book, but their spouses are close behind at number 2. Is there any way I can help you?" I said, "thanks but no thanks" I was just too tired and just wanted the airport people to help me! A little while later, the man came back up to me and shook my hand while handing me what I thought was just his business card. He said "Please thank your husband for me. I hope everything works out. And please email me letting me know you made it ok" I said "ok" and as he walked away, I looked and he had also handed me a folded up $20. It turns out he was the police chief of some where.... But it made me sooooo very proud of my husband and all the other troops out there. And sooooo thankful that someone would be willing to help me just for being a soldiers wife. Thank you, ladies, for being the silent ranks!
