Ok 1) I would go to the Northwest forum. I am not an army wife so I can't help you on that one.
2) If she knows his comand she can find someone that way.
3 Go to his command and Legal and they can direct you from there.
4) Always keep your papers together. Make sure you have copies of his POA and all other important paper work.

WA, would most likely be Ft. Lewis... If she knows which command he's with, and how to find them, she can go from there about getting a POA. THe baby is automatically "covered" for 60 days under the mom's tricare. But, her DH should have put the baby on DEERS ASAP.. he could have done it while she was still in the hospital.
I hope she gets things worked out!

:agree Except if the baby isn't in DEERS then she won't be covered under the mom's prime. ( that only applies if the baby is enrolled in DEERS but not tricare yet) either her DH needs to go and get the baby on DEERS ASAP, She should contact her ombudsman or the like for the Army about getting another POA. If anything they should be able to fax one if he can't enroll the baby in DEERS where he is so that she can do that till a mailed copy can reach her. She needs to do this like now or she will continue to have issues.

You're right Michelle, I didn't even think about the child not being in DEERS :duh.. we never had that issue since DH put her in DEERS the morning after we were discharged from the hospital, and she got on Tricare the same day.

I would say WA is Ft Lewis. Been so long since I had to deal with DEERS I can't even remember, so I"m no help there. To get a new POA is actually fairly easy, in four deployments, I've misplaced three of them. Email him, unless he's at the most remote possible FOB, there's someone from legal there. He can them email it to her, fax it to RearD and send a paper copy. If he is at a fob without legal, call rear detachment and let them know, once you get the command info.
