View Full Version : Kind of a stupid question
Caimbrie 01-30-2008, 10:04 AM Especially considering this is my 4th baby... but anyway.
I keep getting sharp pains real low in my abdomen. It was so bad it woke me up 2 nights ago and then went away in a few minutes. That happened twice that night. It happens about half the time when I stand up too. Sometimes just randomly when I'm not moving. I just assume it's ligament pain so I haven't been worrying too much about it but it's starting to bother me. Would ya'll go to get checked just to be sure?
Lckychrmzz 01-30-2008, 10:10 AM I've been getting them on the sides of my stomach, sometimes when I move and sometimes when I'm sitting still. I would call and talk to your OB or a nurse there just to make sure. I assumed they were round ligament pain too but I'm gonna bring it up on Friday.
Carlye<3Sailor 01-30-2008, 10:13 AM i get em too !! :yes my doctor said its just ligament pain and only to worry if the pain doesnt go away...
and i HAVE to laugh... My baby still doesnt move around a whole lot, i feel it a few times a day but it NEVER fails that whenever i read a thread about babies my tummy starts a' twitchin! LOL

The big reason I'm thinking about having them take a look is my u/s isn't until the 12th and I wont have my first appointment until sometime after that. They have too many patients here and didn't bother referring me out so I probably wont get my first appointment until I'm around 15 weeks or so. I haven't even seen a doc yet and that bothers me.

I almost posted "maybe they will get you in sooner if you call and tell them youre having pain" but decided not to. Ya know, to be honest, I was VERY tempted to do that too since they werent gonna give me an appointment will Feb 12th. I dont know if I will get an ultrasound, the nurse said "I dont know, it depends on the doctor but if you're over 11 weeks they should". I'm still deciding if we want to try and switch to Standard but I dont know if we'll break bank going that route.
Shep's Wife 01-30-2008, 10:36 AM Sounds like ligaments stretching, I wouldn't worry too much :yes
It's sad to say but with it being your 4th, those pains might get more frequent and bothersome.

Tony and I were debating the same thing. But because of his rank I'll be locked out of tricare prime for a whole year. So if anything else happens with me I'll be paying co-pays everywhere. If your husband is an e-5 or over (which I assume he is) then you'll be locked out for a year also.

I thought it'd be the opposite since I'm already all streatched out and loose in there :lmao

excuse my language but.. fuck! There goes that idea. Ya, he's a 1st Class testing for Chief in May. I will have to tell him that. I do not want to get locked out of Prime after the baby b/c I know I'm gonna need extra expensive care. Damnit damnit damnit! I guess the only way to get civvie care is if they say I'm high risk and tell me I need to go to Bethesda and the board already knows I CANNOT drive that far so theyd refer me locally.
Cangel14 01-30-2008, 10:55 AM Sounds like Round Ligament Pain, Once you've had your 1st baby, you usually feel them earlier in the pregnancy (I know I did). Just make sure you don't get up too fast from laying or sitting, and just try to take it easy and rest.
AshleyJ 01-30-2008, 10:59 AM Yeah at one point I laid down for like 3 days b/c I had that kind of pain and it hurt so bad. I called the dr's office and they told me that it was ligament pain and that I needed to rest w/ a heating pad over the location of the pain.

The tricare guy was at the stupid class last week and told us all (it was CG, Air Force, Navy and Army.) about the tricare thing. E-4 and below can go right back onto prime without any penalty.

I had to do that with my first also. I don't have that option this time. I have the 3 kids to take care of.

Mommy2Bailey 01-30-2008, 11:07 AM Sounds like stretching to me.But I always called when I felt weird.
