SEATTLE – Seattle firefighters used an unusual piece of equipment Thursday to get an injured worker to the hospital.
It was shortly before noon when a worker somehow crushed his ankle at a construction site on 9th Ave. near Harborview Medical Center.
The worker was working in a foundation pit, so crews had to call in a high-angle rescue team to lift him out.
The rescue team then used a large crane at the site to lift the worker on a stretcher out of the pit and then simply swing him over buildings to the Medical Center.
