View Full Version : WHY THE TEARS
YamiHall 02-02-2008, 10:10 PM Ok so I am sitting here reading my book like its all good and I have music playing in the background like I always do and the song Far Away by Nickelback comes on cause its on my playlist and I just bursted into tears :tears like sobbing tears then I looked up at my calendar and realized that my df has been gone for almost 45 days now. Wow and I was doing so good and now here I am bawling like a child. I miss him so much right now. I haven't missed him this much in a couple days and now this. I am so dissappointed in myself right now cause he expects me to be :mrgreen all the time for the sake of the kids and u should see me. Damn deployments why cant they be shorter. Please no one take offense to this but I wish the Army had it as good as the Navy with the short deployments. Cause 15 months is to damn long and its beyond unfair. We need our men....Sorry I guess I am just really lonely :lonely
with out him tonight and the :rain isn't really helping! :sorrysign girls i dont mean to be such a ball of mixed emotions. Thanks for reading if you read this!

mandyb 02-02-2008, 11:47 PM I am delfinatly not taking this the wrong way but as a navy wife, I do have to say that "sometimes" I think the same way because Army & Marines are on a base and emails, webcams and phones are easily accessed and you are able to actaully see and talk to them in real time. Most navy are unable to do so ,, so we go for our 7+ months with email going in and out, absolutly no web cams, no IM's and every now and then phone calls which we can only imagine they face expressions. I think it is just as hard for ALL of us, no matter what.
Remember that we are here for eachother and feel free to express your feelings, I will listen and care. I know all about that song, I try real hard not to paly them anymore. I know that this past week has felt like pure hell for me and finally I am back on track, but I can not promise you that I will not be back on here in a few days crying my eyes out again. It is ok to feel this way. and thanks for sharing. :grouphug

Exactly what she said, also Navy deployments may only be 6-7 months but with workups/ and all the other misc underways they are gone for WAY longer than that throughout the year, not to mention DH is on a ship for 5 years so he will see 3-5 six or seven month deployments during that timeframe.. the grass is not always greener... :hugehug to you, I hope you feel better soon!
TPuckey 02-03-2008, 12:35 AM no matter what you're in.. it all sucks. :( deployments just suck :vent seriously, i know i have said this on here about fifty times.. but if you plan one big "feeling sorry for yourself" night a month, it really really helps. get rid of the kids, because they don't need to see it, get some sad pathetic movies and maybe some depressin youtube videos and have at it. you'll get it all out, and i promise, once you wake up the next morning and have some coffee.. you'll feel like you can start all over, fresh and new. not GREAT, just fresh and new :lol it really helps me.. truly. remember, there are people who are here to listen, we all know what it feels like to be alone :)
lemc81 02-03-2008, 01:37 AM :grouphug I'm so sorry you're having a rough night!! Let yourself cry it out. 15 months is a long deployment but you'll get through it!
