Just wanted to give those who are curious about how Jake is doing an update on his condition. His wound his finally healing, but it is still open.

Here's a pic of what it looks like now **warning - may be gross to some**

He fell on a metal pole sticking out of the ground in our backyard (assumed to be the electrical ground to our house and its not supposed to be above ground). It was behind some of the landscaping, and what we assume is that all the dogs were chasing each other around in the yard and Jake ran behind the bushes and slipped on the river rocks we have back there and ended up stabbing himself on that metal pole. We know he did face plant into the concrete because he cut up his face a bit too. You can see in the last picture where he has that scar on his lip.

LMAO! She is hilarious. She has most definitely designated that as her spot. And heaven help the dog that tries to get in her spot! :giggle She could scare a grown man senseless. :lol Our youngest dog Jasper like to try and jump up there in "her spot" too, and she does not put up with that at all. :refuse She kicks his ass right off the couch.

Poor doggy!!!!
Hey Kristen, did the vet say if you can use Neosporin to help it to heal faster? MY MIL uses Neosporin on her kitties, when they get wounds from fights.

Sucks that it's still open but it looks a lot better than it did initially. If that booger would leave it alone, it would heal faster! Doesn't he know that yet? :D

Your doggie pics are too cute btw. My jack likes to lie on the back of the couch too, it's the lazy dog's sleeping spot :yes

Yes, he said we could neosporin on the outside, but not to put it anywhere near the open wound.

Yes, it has been awhile. :( He had his initial injury, had surgery on it, then his wound opened up, had a 2nd surgery on it, then his wound opened up again, and this last time the Vet decided to just leave it open and let it heal on its own. His wound is twice the size as it was originally because the Vet had to cut more in order to have enough skin to suture it back together. We are not happy with what the Vet did at all.

Thank you sweetie! I feel like a bad mommy since this happened to him in the first place. He is going to have such an awful scar on his leg too. :( I can't wait till I can start taking him on walks again though, he really needs to get some exercise.
