Did/does your son get mystery fevers? twice in the past two months now Jacob has woken up in the middle of the night burning up. (it's happened before but I didn't really think about it)
Saturday evening at 7:00pm I put Jacob to bed, he woke up at 8pm. I waited a few minutes to see if he would settle back down. I go in his room because his cry doesn't sound right. First sign something is off is he is still alying down and has his covers on still. So he has not gotten up or really moved at all.

So I pick him up his hands were ice cold, so I figured he was warm because he had a fleece sleeper on and his two blankets. His chest, head, ears, and even legs and feet are burning up. So I take his temp 103.8. It is high but barely in the high fever range. (still I find anything over 101.9 to be alarming in kids even if the DRs don't)

I gave him a dose of Motrin which usually brings the fever right down within 30 mins. one hour later he is still hot at 101. So I gave him a dose of Tylenol. It took me from 8:30pm to almost 12:00am to get his fever down to normal range. I had to strip him out of his clothes and use a cool wash cloth as well.

Then Sunday morning he wakes up perfectly fine no fever at all just his same runny nose and cough. (he had a cold got over it and now has a cold again he is sick all of the time during the winter/spring)

I know I'm not them but Jaxon has that a LOT! His peds have always told me it's some sort of weird virus that is just a fever. Don't know if I believe that or not but thats what they told me. This happens to him many times each year, with no other symptoms and no real explanation.

Yes, yes, yes. For the first 3 years of his life I was in the ER every couple of weeks. They never gave me an explanation, except to say that some kids are prone to fevers. Because I didn't know any better at the time, I let them put him on antibiotics time and time again. They just said, well, he "probably" has a UTI, or it must be his ears again, but they don't look infected. His fevers then ranged from 103 to I believe his highest was 105.4. It was so alarming, he never had febrile seizures though.
I just alternated Tylenol and Motrin every 3 hours until it went away.
Thankfully, it seems to be something they grow out of, at least in our case.

I really have wondered for a long time if it was related to Autism in some way, cart or horse...
