View Full Version : Another Newbie smmwalters 04-24-2006, 12:28 PM Hey everyone, my name is Megan, im 21yrs old and have been married to my husband Mike for a little over two years now. He's been out to sea for the last 6 months and will be home next week, so i am so so excited. Not only is he coming home to me but a new home, which he hasnt seen expect for pictures. I found this group and thought it was great. It would be nice to meet other military wives from the Jacksonville area. Im looking foward to meeting new people. Congrats on hubby coming home next week. What ship is he on? We live in Great Lakes now but 7 months ago we moved here from Jacksonville. We both really miss it. We would love to get stationed there for his next duty station. Hubby was on the JFK. There are some ladies here that are in Jax. But we got really lucky and they are pulling into Jacksonville first. We havent been anywhere else. We are hoping that he can get orders to stay because we like here as well. John was in a squadron before and that is what they would do with him. He was stationed at Cecil Field and did one deployment on the Roosevelt and one on the JFK. Then he got stationed to the JFK and did two more deployments on it. I was going to UNF so we were hoping we could stay in Jax, plus we liked it so much we wanted to buy a house, but they didn't have any billets open unless he wanted to stay on sea duty. Do you guys live on the Westside or by the Beaches? I love the Beaches area but John lived in Orange Park the first time he was in the Navy and he likes that area better. Before we bought our house we lived near the beach but now we just bought our house which is off of 9A near jacksonville airport.
