I thought this would be a neat thread to have pinned up so those expectant mommys could read and everyone else could read thru and see each other's expierences from 1 kid to multiple kids, how it all differed and the like.

So feel free to post your childrens birth stories here! :) (L)

My original EDD was Feb. 27, 2005. The 8th of Feb. I was taken off work and put on light bed rest because of early contractions. Well, the rest of the month nothing happened. Finally on Wednesday, March 2 at around 10:45pm I started feeling pains in my stomach that didn't feel like contractions, really didn't feel right at all. So I called my mom and explained the pains to her and she suggested I go in and have a doc check me out. Justin and I debated whether to take our bag and pillows with us or not, and finally about 11:15 we had the car packed and were on our way. On the way to the hospital I started having really minor contractions. 11:45PM we got to the hospital, they put me in a triage room to check me out before deciding to admit me...I was only dilated to 3cm, so they had me walk around the floor "to help speed things up". At 1:00am they checked me again and I was at 3.5cm. So they decided to admit me, but didn't have a room available yet, so they told me to keep walking around. Justin was passed out in a chair at this time, by the way:rolleyes . Finally about 3:00am they got a room for me, but I was still only at 3.5cm. They told me I could try to get some rest or I could keep walking...well, I wanted this baby out so I kept walking. And walking. And walking. Finally at 6:15AM a doc came in and decided to break my water - which was the strangest, most disgusting and embarassing feeling!! They asked me then if I wanted an epidural and I said yes, because the contractions were really beginning to pick up. The epidural in my back wasn't too terribly painful, and it did take the pain away from the contractions but I could still feel the pressure. Once my contractions got really close together, they inserted a catheter because they didn't want me trying to get up to pee anymore. Well, I swear to God that catheter KILLED my epidural!! I was feeling E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!! I mean, I was telling the nurses when a contraction was coming, I was gripping the bed so hard I almost cramped my hands, I was in tears, and the pain was making me feel nauseus. So they sat me up straight and gave me ice chips to chew on, and finally at 11:00am I told the doc and the nurses I needed to push. I could feel him coming with every contraction. So, they prepped me and I started pushing. Well, Bruce was facing up so his face was getting stuck under my pelvic bone and was not coming out; so they had to do an episiotomy and use suction to help him out. At 11:45AM, my beautiful, perfect little baby boy was born.(L) He was 8lbs, 1oz and 20 1/4 inches long. They took him to clean him up and check all his vital signs to make sure he was healthy, and they cleaned and stitched me up. Saturday March 5, they let us go home. And I swear, the recovery from the episiotomy was more painful than the labor I went through! I couldn't find a comfortable position to lay in, I cried when I had to go pee because it hurt to sit down and it stung when I went pee, and it hurt just to walk around my room or out to the car when I was released to go home. But you know what, the entire experience (pain and all) was definitely worth every minute of it because it gave me our son. And we are currently trying for another one.:goodvibes

I was 5 days over due. I went in to see my midwife to get my cervix stretched(ouchie). Well my blood pressure was 140/90 TOO high for her standards(hypertenstion). SO she sent me to L&D to get checked out. Well she told me to tell them that I feel like shit and blah blah blah( she said the more I complain the more likely they will admit me, hehe) Well I went up there and was monitored for several hours.

FINALLY around 4 oclock they decided to admit me since I was over due( I thought they were going to send me home). WHOHOOOOOO SO I called my dh told him that we were going to have a baby that day.

They moved me into my own room and did all the paper work. My dh showed up and around 5ish, after they got my IV started they FINALLY started me on Pitocin(sp).

Did good with that until they broke my friggen water!!! I thought the lady was just going to check to see how dialated I was. NOOOO she stuck this crochet hook looking thing in there and broke my bags of water. OMG that was the yuckiest thing ive ever felt, LMAO!!!! Especially since the lady didnt have that pee pad under me and it went everywhere haha.

AS soon as the bags of water broke all the hormones rushed thru my body and I started shaking and shivering and I couldnt stop. I was told that I have 3 patients ahead of me before I got my epidural and that I would have to work thru the shivering. WELL NOPE it was so bad that they had the ansteseologist( i know bad spelling) skip all the others and do my epidural.

Well they think they broke my water too soon because jacobs heart beat was getting too low and they had to put water back into me because they thought he was laying on his umbilical cord.

Well while getting that set up I found out that I have a curve to my spine cause when he was putting the needle in he asked me if I felt anything in a area that I wasent supposed to and I said yes. He said well you have a curved spine then, lol. Once he got that all in and the meds started my shivering and shaking stopped. OH BOY those drugs are awesome!!!!!! I felt great!!!!!!!

Well that was I believe around 9-10 and I got on the phone and called my family who were near LA on their way there(6 hour drive) and they are like what the hell are you doing on the phone, apparantly I told them that I was feeling GOOD!!!!

Anywho I continued to work thru my contractions for hours and the doctor and nurses had me push thru a few of the contractions to get Jacobs head out more.

Then around 3am it was time to push, push, push!!!!

SO the nurses helped me thru my pushing. I hated one part where I KNEW jacobs head was right there and I had to HOLD him right there, they told me that I would push his head out and then when I stopped pushing he would go back inside(prarie doggin it) BUt they wanted me to hold him there AND work thru contractions!!! OMG I was pissed by that time and kept telling people to shut the hell up!!! LMAO

SO anyways I continued to push and they thought he was going to be a small baby cause they saw his head with all this hair, and then I kept pushing and pushing and at 4:18 am December 17th I had Jacob.

So around 14 hours of labor

what fun!

when I had my son, I went in once before they admitted me. From the begining of active labor to him in my arms was 5 hours 45 minutes. 1 1/2 hours of pushing. I was in labor for the intire week before he was born. I had no drugs with him. I forgot to add that I not slept in about 3 days. I had somthing that was suppost to help me sleep. It made me really groggy but I never slept. My mid wife broke my water for me. I tore a lot and had to have a bunch of stiches. That was the part the hurt the worst. Because I had no drugs I could feel every time they stuck the needle in me. Im sure anyone can imagine how that would hurt! He was very healthy. He had really good scores. He came 2 days before his due date. I think he was late. He looked exactly like my daughter did and they told me she was over due. I think Cory was conceived a few weeks before they thought. I wanted him out about the middle of june. It took a week before I could sit down again. We were in and out of the hospital in about 24 hours. It was so boring. I just wanted to get home and be comfortable. He was 8 lbs 6 oz 20 1/2 in. Born July 6th 1999 at 8:46 am

When I had my daughter I had gone in that morning because I started bleeding but they said it was nothing and sent me home. I started contracting hard later that afternoon but I didn't want to be stuck in the hospital any longer than I need to be so I stayed home as long as I could. At 1 am I got John up and we went in. I was already in active labor when got there. Once I was at 6 cm I asked to have an epidural. It was the best thing. After that my mid wife broke my water for me. It was all green and gross. I pushed 3 times and she was here. I had to wait for the last push because they had to suck all the yucky stuff out of her. I delivered her 5 days before she was due but they said she was over due. I'm not sure about that since I know exactly what day we conceived her! She had trouble keeping her body temp. up so we had to stay an extra day. It was so boring. especially since we had Cory and no one was willing to watch him for us. My dad kept him entertained while I was having her but as soon as she was born my dad went back to work and my mom went to school. my mother-in-law was never one for watching him. Shes always favored our oldest nephew. Lily was 7 lbs 7 oz. 19 in born on January 10th 2003 at 7:55 am (the time was kinda funny because the mid wife I had was off at 8. She said way to go I get to leave on time today. Thanks it was funny)

I went 11 days overdue with lil E. Figures...I waited 9.5 years to get pregnant and he wanted to be stubborn :giggle

I was orginially due on October 24th. On November the 2nd I had some pretty strong contractions. My mom was in town and Rod was working nights at the time. We would go walking during the day to try and start anything. On the 2nd we went grocery shopping and sure enough. Something started..

My contrax got as close as 15 minutes apart before stopping at 4am. I had a Dr appt on the 4th so I figured I would BEG to be induced...Later that day (November 3rd) My contrax started again. They started around 5pm. Rod went to work and my mom and I timed them. By 11pm they were around 20 minutes apart. I was getting ready to go to bed when they started getting pretty hard. My mom stayed up with me and we continued to time them. By 12am (Nov 4th) they were around 8 minutes apart. Tired of waiting I called the hospital and they told me to come in. I called Rod, he rushed home and off we went.

When we arrived at the hospital they gave me something to sleep because I had not slept in over 2 days. I fell asleep for a bit and my contrax started to stop. (I was currently at 3cm and 100%effaced) My Dr told me NO way was I going home. They had already been worried about Lil mister's size. So the pitocin was started. My contrax started up again with a venegance. I asked for my epidural after I had hit almost 5cm. They gave it to me..It didnt work. They gave me another and this worked for around 30 minutes. They broke my water and we waited some more. They tried to give me a 3rd epidural when I was 9cm and this one didn;t work either. By now I was fully dilated, no pain management and contrax were 1 minute apart. I was in so much pain. I tried pushing, but ended up in tears. I continued to push for almost 2 hours. I tore etc. At that point my Dr said I would need an emergency C-section. E wasn't far enough down to use forceps or a vaccuum and I had been in labor for over 18 hours, pushed for 2 and they needed to get things going.

I was wheeled into the OR and all I remember is flopping into some mans arms asking for help. Apparently they put me under with general because the next thing I know I wake up and a nurse rushes over and tells me "Ma'm you are ok, your baby is ok, you just woke up from surgery. But everything is fine. Your husband will be in with your son in a moment"

Rod came in shortly after and asked if I wanted to meet our son (L) That was the most memorable time of my life. Even tho I went thru so much I would do it ALL over again. E was born via emergency C-section on November the 4th at 6:36pm and weighed in at 8lbs and 12oz

here ya go!!

i woke up around 10:30 am on September 5Th (his due date) with contractions. they were every 10 minutes lasting for about 15-20 seconds. they continue until around 10:30 that night. they were still 10 minutes apart but was getting stronger. so i decided to take a bath......3rd one that day! while i was in the bath my mom had called to see how i was during. while i was talking to her (15 minutes) i had 3 contractions!!! both my mom and dad was telling me that it was time for me to go the hospital but i was thinking i was okay. that they were still 10 minutes apart. finally my dad yelled at me telling that they were 4 minutes apart!!! so he had my sister (they all live in Kentucky) to call my friend who was my birth partner. corey arrived at my house at about 11 pm.

we headed to NAS Jax (about an hour from my house). while we were driving we got stopped at a police check point. the officer asked if we had been driving and my friend yelled that i was having a baby!!! while driving there they starting come every 2 minutes and lasting what i thought was 10 hours!!! my water broke and i knew if we did not get to the hospital soon we were going to have a baby in the car!

finally got to the hospital at midnight. i was walking around my room having contractions and wanting to push. this is all happening while the nurse is asking me how much i weighed, my last period, and what religion i was. i wanted to tell her witchcraft and if she did not hurry up i was going to put a spell on her!!! the Doctor came in and checked me. i was 7-8 Cm's!!!! he asked if i wanted epidural and i said yes!!! the contractions were coming too fast and there was no time for me to recover.

so they take me into the delivery room and tell me that i have to wait 30 minutes before i can get anything because of my blood work. i thought i was going to die!!! finally they gave me my medicine and then checked me. i was 10 Cm's!! i wish they had to checked me before the medicine because if i knew i was the far along i may have waited.

at 2:12 am Trent came out!!! i pushed about 4 times and that was it. as for the birth plan. some things was done how i wanted and some were not. the doctor never once looked at the plan. he cut me without asking or even letting me know. also they cut the cord right when Trent came out. but Trent did not receive vitamin K shot or the eye ointment.

i am pretty happy how the whole went. i got a perfect baby and that is one thing i would not change!!!

DS #1 2 weeeks early. I woke up around 5 am when Dh was getting ready for work, and felt crappy. I asked him to bring me tylenol and a glass of water. I went back to sleep for about an hour and a half. Woke up at 6:30 having regular semi painfull contractions avery 7 min. stayed in bed and timed them for a while, than they went to 5 min so I called my midwife. She said to come in and get checked. I got in the bath tub to relax while I waited for Jason to get home from the boat. ( I called twice and they hung up on me) Jasn gets home around 8 and we pack some stuff and head to the hospital in morning rush hour. We got there at 10 and I was admited 5 cm,and contracting every 3 min. I was going to start walking a little but when I got out of bed my water broke so I layed back down and got my epidural 20 min later. I slept most of the day than started pushing around 7:45 He was born at 9:58.

DS#2 also 2 weeks Early Started contracting around 5 pm so we walked around our whole neighborhood waiting for Blakes sitter. Got to the hospital I was 3cm. So I walked around the 1st floor of the hospital for 3 hours and climbed the stairs 9 stories and back down. Went to get checked again and was 4+ a little. so I was admitted and they startde Pitocin. I fell asleep for about an hour and they came rushing in to roll me over cause Jers heat beat went way down. They stopped Pitocin and I slept again. They Broke my water at 4 am, And I was begging for an epidural . Nurse came in an hour later still no epidural but she gave me a shot that felt awesome and let me sleep. That wore off in about 2 houurs and I was hurting BAD! About 11 am the guy finally came to give me my epidural. To my complete horrer it didnt work. So I started pushing around 1:15 Screaming and yelling like I was dying. Jeremy was born at 1:28pm than all the pain was gone!

With Ella my EDD was 10/11 I went to my Dr.'s appt on Sept 22nd and I was 4cm and 80%, she told me that I would probably go that weekend or early the next week. So I called my mom and she jumped on the first plane to the states and was here the next day. That was Thur Fri 23rd. We walked and walked everyday all day. I had never walked that much in my whole life. She only had two weeks here and was gonna get this baby out. Well next Wed the 28th came. We decided to try castroil(sp) well that made me poop all day. Then we walked some more. Thursday night my mom left so Josh and I could have sex, this was our last resort to get things moving. Friday morning I woke up at 9am to pee, when I went to the bathroom my panties were wet so I thought I peed alittle. So i walk to the bedroom to change. I put on a new pair and walk to the kitchen no one was home. As I walk back to the livingroom I feel wet, I look down and I'm trickling. I said to myself out loud "oh no" so I call my firend and she said yep your water broke you have 24hrs to get to the hospital. I wasn't contracting so I went to look out the window and my mom was outside cooling off(she's a runner) I leaned out to window and told her. We called the ship and Josh came home. We mad it to the hsopital around noon. I had to wait b/c all the bed's were full(Portsmouth VA SUX) so I sat it my wet clothes still leaking for about an hour. Then I got check and they had to swab to make sure I was really leaking fluid :nutts I got into my room at about 2ish and was put on patocin. I didn't start contracting until 9pm. I labored all night and had ella at 6:03 Fri Sept 30th. It was prefect and we went home on Saturday!!

With Dominick,
I started going into labor on Feb 14 at 35 weeks and 5 days, went into the hospital since my contractions were 1-2 min apart but not very strong. They monitored me over night and I wasn't dialting any further then a 3cm so they sent me home. I laid in bed pretty much the whole day and night of Feb 15th and woke up around 6am on Feb 16th to SOOO much pain, I couldn't stand it anymore... I called my dad ( mind you I was only 15) bawling, he was golfing and I begged him to please come home and call the nurse and tell them they have to do something. I have never felt pain like that in my life. I have a very high tolerance for pain so it wasn't just that I was 15 and didn't know any better. My dad finally convinced them to let me come in, I got there and they checked me out, I had finally dialted to a 4 so they admitted me. They made me walk around because after being admitted at around 11 am and it now almost being 6pm I hadn't moved. They started me on Pitocin and I tried to brave it off without the epidural until around 8pm to where my contractions were so bad I couldn't move. I then labored some more with my epidural only working on the left side of my body, I felt EVERYTHING :sadeyes on my right side and it was no fun. Finally at 7:15am on Feb 17th after an hour and a half of pushing and 36 hours of Hard contractions and labor, I delivered my 7lb 13oz boy.

With the twins

Wow their pregnancy was hard to begin with. I started having pre-term labor at 23weeks. They gave me a cerclage and put me on total bed rest. I started weekly appointments from that point on. They would lie on my sciatic nerve so every time I needed to get up and stretch or try to attempt the bathroom my legs would be completely numb and collapse on me, by 28 weeks I knew they were going to be coming soon. I had an ultra sound done every 2 weeks because one of them was not growing as fast as the other and they started noticing that the lower ones fluid was getting lower and lower. I had a Dr's appt when I was 29 weeks and my dr was asking how I was feeling, I kept telling him I was very ready to have the babies and he kept telling me no, you need to try and wait it out till at least 34 weeks. Well the boys had other plans, Jorden decided to pop a whole in his sack :shock , I had just sat down on the couch to watch the Price is Right, 7:30am, HUGE snow storm outside and I felt like I just sat in a puddle of rain. I ran upstairs to sit on the toilet to see what color the fluid was and noticed it definately wasnt pee so AGAIN I called my dad (I turn to him for everything) started bawling that it was too early and there was too much snow outside. He came and got me and drove me down the road to the Hospital I was getting care at, well they hooked me up to monitors and told me that I needed to be life flighted to the University of Utah since they weren't equipped to handle babies at their gestational age. I cried some more because of how bad it was snowing and I was scared to death to fly, well they decided to take me by ambulance since it was so bad outside... Thank god. I got up to our University, they hooked me up to a bunch of stress test monitors and Iv's and what not. Well then they came in to tell me that they were going to try and keep them in for as long as possible and hook me up to an IV with Magnesium Sulfate.... OMG :sick That was the worst medicine I have ever been on. I would sweat through a set of sheets at least every 2 hours, I puked non stop, it was horrible. It felt like somebody had turned me inside out and put me in an oven. Finally after contracting for 9 days and Jorden (baby who's bag broke) had NO fluid left and me and my family Begging and yelling to please take them, they took me back and prepped me for my C-section since both babies were breach. They were then born on March 19th at 5:06pm and 5:10pm at 30 weeks and 3 days, 4lbs 1oz and 3lbs 11oz. They were in the Hospital for 13 weeks before I got to bring them home. (L)

Wow that was a long delivery. :giggle

My due date was 8/22/05.I was a week overdue and I started having contractions on Aug 29. I woke up with them around the time Nick was leaving for work about 6am. He went on in to work that day but told me to call if I needed to cause they werent very stong and you know they always say the first one takes a while. So around noon they strart getting stonger and I get scared so I call him at work and he comes home right away. He gets home around 12:30 and he decides to have something to eat before we go to the hospital. I am kinda freaking cause I dont know whats going to happen this being my first. But everything is fine. We finally leave for the hospital about 2:30. We get there and after checking in and waiting for about 10 minutes they hook me up to the monitors and check my cervix. I am only dilated about 1cm. So they decided to just watch me awhile. All the whole her hreat rate is all over the place from 75-200 and put me on oxygen. And give me anIV Then they decided that they need to do an U/S to check and make sure she is ok.
So the US guy comes in and checks her out he says she was ok that the thing must have been on wrong. At thay point I get the feeling they where about to send me home because the contractions had stopped and I wasnt dilateing. Then the u/s tech decieds to check the fluid cause I am a week over due. And it is very low almost completely gone. So he tells the Dr and they admit me not really sure what time though I lost track. So they put me in a room and after a few Hours I am given poticin cause I am still not progressing. And of course after a few hours the contractions are stong and getting regular So I ask for something for the pain the nurse asked me if I wanted something in the IV or an epi. I decided to go with the IV meds then If I need it the epi later. So after I get the pain meds I sleep for a little bit. All the time they are checking my cervix every few hours or so. I finally decided to get the epi and was happy for awhile. Around 6:45 am they said I was finally ready to push. I pushed for about an hour and she was born at 7:41 am on August 30. A few days later Nick told me they where thinking about taking me into surgury to do a c-section cause I was having trouble. But I mangaged to do it on my own.

Ashtin:

My due date was February 15th 2000. I had an appt. on Feb. 14th
thatwas the first time I was being checked. I was by a women doc that I had never seen before. She checked my cervix, and told me i was 3 cm dialated, and 80% effaced. My Blood pressure was little high so they sent to me to triage(at Portsmouth Naval medical),so they could monitour my blood pressure. I was in there for about 2 hours. and everything was fine, they checked my cervix one more time still 3 cm's on the verge of 4. But they told me that they thought since it was my first baby, that it would probably be about another week or 2 before I had her. I went home started having contractions. But they didn't hurt. by the time we got home(lived in Va beach) they had stopped. Phillip went to work, I called my mom and she said to start cleaning the house. I cleaned it top to bottom and still nothing. It was around 8pm when I stopped cleaning. I laid on the couch to watch t.v. and a couple of hours went by, At 11:30pm I felt something trickling out of me.

I got up and went to the bathroom ,sat on the toliet and water started Trickling out more. I wiped and there was some blood I called my mom and Aunt and they both said to call the hospital that it souned like my water had broke.I called the hospital adn they told me to come in and they would check to see. I called Phillip he got home, and we got to the hospital around 12:30 am Feb 15th. And we had to wait for about 1 1/2-2 hours(there were about 5ladies ahead of me that night that had goen into labor). The contractions weren't too bad they hurt but I could still talk through them.
They checked me confirmed my water had broke, and the contractions came on very Strong . They hit me like a ton of bricks. They put me in a room, and about an hour later i had an Epi. I threw up twice from the Epi. I went to sleep and was woken up by the nurse so she could check me. she said I was 9 1/2 cm's. and they started Pitocin, and told me to buzz them when I felt any pressure(the Epi was still working VERY well). 5 mins later I buzzed the nurse and told her I felt pressure. she came in and told me that I was 10. And that with the next contraction that I could push. She told me when My next contraction was(since I couldn't feel it). And I pushed. The doc cmae in,and I pushed for 37mins.

Ashtin was Born at 10:27am 6lbs 14oz. and 19 1/2 inches in length. On her Due date February 15th 2000.I was in labor with Ashtin for almost 11 hours.

Gavin:

I was due with Gavin on January 31st 2004. I went in for my 36 week appt. And the Doc checked my cervix I was already 4 cm's,and 80% effaced. He told me that he new I wouldn't make it to my due date, and that he didn't want me to have to be miserable. so that he was going to induce On Jan. 16th.I filed out the paper work went home. a couple of days later I was had some mild contractions nothing big though. The Doc had told me that since I was already 4 cms, to come in if my contractions were 12 mins apart. that I would go quickly. On Jan. 15th. I started Bleeding a little. and called the doc. they had me come in. and told me that it was ok, that I was getting ready to have the baby, and that he would see me bright and early the next morning for my induction. We drove hom had some contractions but they stopped. Got home around 6pm ate dinner, and went to watch T.V. started Havin contrations around 8:48pm they went from 20 mins to 15 mins, When they hit 15 mins , I thought we shoudl go ahead and go cause we lived 30 mins from the hospital.

The contrations kept getting closer with each one I had, we were about 5mins from the hospital and they were 1 min apart. My mom dropped mand and one of my sisters off at the ER entrance and went to go park the car. I told the nurses I was in Labor. They got me a wheelchair, and wheeled me to triage. They decided not to check me cause my contractions were on top of each other. I got in to aroom. The nurses game me a gown and told me to change, and pee in a cup. I had 2 contrations while i was in the bathroom. Got out of the bathroom and laid on the bed. The nurse checked me and told the other nurse "she's 9 with a little lip left so 9 1/2". "call the Doctor now". They called, and while they were talking to him,I felt like I had to push. and he started to crown. I really don't know hwo long I waited. It felt like forever. But they had to wait for the doc to come, and thay wouldn't let me push. I Just wanted to push sooooooo bad. after several contrations the doc still wasn't there and the nurses decided to go ahead and let me push.

By that time Gavin had been crowning . I pushed once and his head was out. They told me to feel his head. I pushed the second time and he was out. I was in labor for almost 2 1/2 hours.

Gavin was born at 11:07 pm on Jan. 15th 2004,. He was 5 lbs 10 oz. and 17 3/4 inches in length.

The doctors say I have quick labors. that even for 11 hours for a first baby is a quick labor. 11 hours sure didn't seem quick.

On 3/18 I was making dinner for DH's birthday and I had my first real contraction, the first one that hurt enough that i couldn't do anything through it. That day and the next (Sunday) I had a few of those. Monday around noon the contractions started being consistently 20-30 minutes apart and hurting pretty bad. Then they stopped 10 hours later and started Tuesday afternoon and went on for 6 hours, then stopped. Wed at 2:30am i started having contractions again and they were 7-12 minutes apart until 5pm when they finally reached 5 min apart. We got to the hospital at 7pm and i was 5cm. I didn't want the epi right away because every time i sat or laid down for more than 15 minutes, the contractions slowed down. But the baby's heartrate kept dropping with every contraction so they wanted me monitored constantly. I got the epi which must have gone in crooked because my left leg went completely numb - don't even know i have a leg numb. After about 5 hours i was still at 5cm and having weak, irregular contractions (duh, i wasn't walking around). they put me on pitocin and said if nothing happens in an hour, i'd go in for a c-section. well, they changed their mind after an hour because the baby was still doing fairly well, even though her heartrate was still dropping with every contraction. I fell asleep after that and woke up with a really bad pain in my hip. i knew she had dropped quite a bit and the dr came in an hour later and said i was 10cm and ready to push. I pushed for about 15 minutes and out she came. That was 2:45am on thursday after 24 hours straight in labor. but i count the 16 hours mon and tues too, so it was more like 40 with some breaks in between.

My due date was Feb 16, 2006. The last month of my pregnancy I was MISERABLE, everything hurt, my feet were swollen and I looked like an elephant, couldn't sleep or sit comfortable, etc. I was scheduled for an induction for Feb 14 since I was showing signs of pre eclampsia (retained water, very high blood pressure and was losing protein), I was the happiest woman in this world the day I woke up to go to the hospital and have the baby. They broke my water around 8am and I started having contractions, my blood pressure kept climbing and they were concerned for both me and the baby so around noon they started me on magnesium which made me very drousy. Around 5pm I asked for an epidural cause my contractions were getting more painful, it worked in the beginning but about 4am in the morning of the 15th it didn't work anymore and I was in real pain, the baby's head was stuck in my pelvis in a way that his head bones were rubbing against my pelvic bone and he would not turn... the Dr. was considering a c-section but wanted to wait till 8am to see if the baby was turning his head or not... luckily he was... around 10.45 I started pushing and at 11.19, after over 27 hrs of labor, I delivered my baby boy... he was totally wore out for all the medications and had to be taken to the nursery immediately since his heart rate dropped as soon as he was born, there he was hooked up to an IV and antibiotics. A day later he was doing a lot better and for the first time I breast fed him. He was allowed to sleep in my room that night and we were sent home the next morning. :cloud9

Oh man, mine might be kind of long. :giggle Taylor came 3 weeks early. My due date was January 14th, and I had her on December 22nd.

The weekend before I had Taylor, John and I went down to Orlando to visit his grandmother. Before we left, while we were there, and on the way home I was having HORRIBLE BH contractions. I thought we might have to pull off I-4
and find a hospital because they were so bad. But we made it back to Jax, and they slowed down. The entire time I was in Orlando though I felt horrible. I had a really bad sinus infection, and I had the chills really bad. I spent one night standing in the shower because I just couldn't get warm. :dunno

Anyhow...the night I went into labor we had friends over for dinner. I was standing in the kitchen talking to my friend Rachael when my water broke. I had just put a chicken in the oven too. :lol At first I thought I peed my pants, so went to the bathroom and as soon as I sat down it gushed like crazy. So I put on clean pants and a pad and went back out to kitchen with a funny look on my face. My friend was worried, and asked me what happened. I told her I THINK my water broke. :dunno Everyone told me not to expect this, so I really wasn't sure. DUH. :duh So being the good friend she is, she made me go back in the bathroom to check. Well it was my water because then it kept coming out. :lmao

We went back out to tell my husband her her hubby, and they both went :shock :shock :shock . We had NOTHING ready! Everything was bought, but it was in the boxes, in bags, and in piles in the nursery. I didn't have a bag packed or anything. We planned on getting everything together that night (my friend and I), which is the whole reason they came over. We literally all freaked out, rushed around the house throwing everything in the diaper bag, while my husband got the carseat out of the box and threw it in the car. My friends husband called my mom to tell her. She was in the grocery store and dropped a glass jar when he told her I was in labor. :lmao She rushed over to the house, so we finished packing in the mean time. By the time we left the entire house was torn apart. I kid you not, it looked like someone came in and tried to rob us and ripped everything apart.

We got to the hospital around 8:00 pm finally. On the way to the hospital I called and left my best friend Denise a voicemail telling her what was going on. When she tried calling back she couldn't get me, so she called the naval hospital looking for me in labor and delivery. I hadn't gotten there yet, so they knew I was coming because she was freaking out looking for me. :lmao YES, EVERYONE IN MY FAMILY IS DRAMATIC. :lmao :lmao So, when we got there they checked us right in and told us about my friend Denise calling already. Once they checked me and got me in my room, we sat there forever watching TV. I wasn't having contractions or anything, but I couldn't walk around since my water broke. My aunt and uncle came back into town that night, so she came up the hospital and sat with us. My mom, my husband, my aunt, and my friends that were at the house that night were all there when Taylor was born, in the room. It was a fun crowd. :lol

Finally I started dialting, VERY slowly. They put me on pitocin, and then I started feeling the pain. Finally at around 4 in the morning it got bad, and I was around 3 cm. They gave me some "good juice", as the nurse called it in my IV, and I passed out for a little while. After that wore off, quite a while later, they gave me the epi. I was still dialating pretty slow, so they upped the pitocin. Finally almost 24 hrs later I was fully dialated. The doctor said she was still quite a ways up, so just to call if I felt the urge to push. He left, and not even 5 minutes later I felt the urge to push. The epi was wearing off, so he came back in and made is stronger, which didn't freaking help. He left again, and I started pushing on my own. I couldn't help the urge one bit. :lol Everyone was laughing at me because they were asking me if I was pushing, and I was shaking my head no as I pushed. :lmao So they got the doctor, and I might have pushed 15 minutes total and she was out. Once her shoulders were out the doctor told me to stop a second, and I literally, told him "HELL NO" and pushed her the rest of the way out. :lmao Come to find out the dipshit nurse turned OFF the epi instead of the pitocin, so I felt EVERYTHING. But it didn't really hurt honestly, and that urge to push was insane. It just felt like someone hit me on the top of the head and my body just naturally did it.

So, at 3:24 pm on December 22nd, I had my angel. :cloud9

Well, my due date was July 16th. My hubby was at a nuke pre-school in Maryland from June 1-June 25th...and I went into labor on JUNE 24TH!!!! I was in denial of course, sitting at my brother's little league game with my mom, thinking I was having cramps. Well, they were getting worse and the hospital was 35 minutes away, so my mom and I took off for home (still 20 minutes from the hospital). When I called in to the hospital, I told them I was in labor and they told me to time my contractions and call them back in an hour!!! Needless to say, they were already right on top of eachother, I called the hospital back and told them I was coming NOW! My mom drove so slow I thought I would have him in the car. Once at the hospital I went into a private waiting room with a recliner so they could hook me up to the little moniter things while they got a bed ready....I couldn't wait, my mom yelled down the hall for them to come in there....my pants were holding my son in. I had him without a doctor, and the nurse could only get one glove on. I had called my hubby earlier and told him to come home, but he couldn't leave until the next day and had to drive 1000 miles, so he got there when our son was about 17 hours old. They later told me that some people have very quick births (some fancy medical term) and that next time I get pregnant, come in after the first contraction. It was a crazy crazy time...I almost went into shock it was so fast. But, all the women in the hospital were envious of me and my quick labor. My son, Tytan Adam, was born at 7:50 pm weighing 6lbs. 15oz.

I have you all beat and you all are going to think that I SUCK by the end of this:giggle

Brayana #1 was born at 35 weeks 5 days. My water broke at 7:45pm and no contractions. I walked and walked and walked. Nothing. I called the hospital and they told me to come in. Got there and they told me to go to the ER, they didn't see patients before 20 weeks of pregnancy:lmao The nurse didn't believe I was 35+ weeks until she checked my chart. The took me to a triage room, told me I wasn't having ctx but my water had broke and I was 3cm. Moved me to a room and started pitocin. Watched some of a movie and played cards with hubby. They kept increasing the pit because I was so comfortable. I hit transition and the ctx hit hard. They checked me and I was 7cm so they gave me fentonyl (sp?). Within a few minutes I was ready to push. I had a doctor and an intern who had just gotten to the hospital on July 1st (Brayana was born on July 2nd at 3:45am) and had never delivered a baby. The dr was trying to show the intern how to massage the perineum to keep me from tearing and I was trying to smack both of them. :lmao The kept telling me to keep my hands behind the drape and I kept telling them to keep their hands off me!! 4 hours after starting the pitocin I started pushing and pushed for 25 minutes! Really short first labor they told me.

Jaleel #2 My water broke around 4am:tired and I walked until my 8am OB appt. They decided that my water had broke but my cervix was closed, not effaced at all and baby was still really high. They sent me upstairs and put me in a backroom (literally they were so full they put me in this little room on a monitor without even a nurses call button):duh until they had a room for me. I was there most of the day before they moved me to an L&D room. Dr came up and told me that he was going to give me cytotec to ripen my cervix since it was still closed. He told me it would be 3-4 hours before they knew if it was working. He inserted 1/4 of a pill and said he'd come back in about 3 hours to check on me (he was having clinic downstairs). Well hubby left the room, the nurse came in and gave me pain meds, I went to the bathroom and told hubby it was time. He got me back to the bed and was trying to plug things back in. He got a nurse real fast after I "explained" the situation:inshock . The dr had just gotten back downstairs to the clinic when they called him back up! 1 hour and 15 minutes after he put in the cytotec to "ripen" my cervix I had baby #2! He was born at 3:04pm at 35 weeks 6 days.

Makkiah #3 My water broke in the morning and I was determined to get things going myself this time since I was once again having NO ctx. That evening I finally called my mom to come watch the kids and she wanted to finish drinking her beer so I walked SOME MORE. I finally went to the hospital around 10:30pm. They put me on the monitor, no ctx's and baby was sleeping. They had me drink juice and buzzed him before checking me to decide that once again my water did break, I was 3 cm and they needed to move me back into a room. They started the pitocin and I went to the bathroom. Had 2 ctx that I felt and felt pressure. The nurse rechecked me and I was 5cm . Had two more, felt lots more pressure and the midwife came in to recheck me. I was 7cm and the midwife said she was going to wait right outside the door as she knew it wouldn't take long. 2 more ctx and the nurse said I was at 9 with a small lip. They were rushing trying to get things set up by this point because it was all happening SO fast. The midwife got the gloves on just in time to catch Makkiah. He was born at 2:04am about 15 minutes after feeling the first ctx at 36 weeks 6 days. No pain meds.

Are you hating me yet?:hehe ;)

Taniyah #4 I was 3 cm for a month and 80% effaced with no ctx. The ob stripped my membranes twice hoping to get things started and scheduled an induction for the day I hit 39 weeks. When I went in for the induction the doctor there was going to send me home because they don't normally do inductions until 40 weeks. I was having no ctx and my water was still intact by this point. When he checked me I was 5cm and 100% effaced. He decided that he would admit me and give me some pitocin. He went with the nurse to check someones epidural and came back to break my water. I was 6cm at this point and reading a magazine. He asked what was wrong with me as I was supposed to be in pain!! He wanted to know if I could hear all the ladies screaming and I told him that if I concentrated REALLY hard I could tell you when I was having a ctx. :P He said he would be back in 30 minutes to check on me. I had to wait for 5 minutes after he broke my water before I could go in an pee which I did as soon as my 5 minutes was up. I peed and the nurse was trying to rush me back to the bed (DH told her I went fast once I hit transition). Got back to the bed, the nurse was bringing in the cart as she didn't want to be unprepared, and she asked if she should check me. I couldn't talk at that point and hubby said yes I think she's going to start pushing any minute. She checked me at 6:06 and I was complete. She told the corpsman to grab any doctor she could find in the hallway. :nutts This other doctor came in and didn't realize I didn't have an epidural and I was pushing on my terms and not hers. Taniyah was born at 6:11pm. 5 minutes after I was complete and less than 30 minutes after starting the pitocin. My doctor never made it back!! The charge nurse came in to see how things were going and I had already delivered.

So I have VERY short, VERY easy deliveries. I've never torn, never had an episitomy and never had an epidural. I don't know what I'd do with a 10, 20 or even 30 hour labor!

Here's my birth story I sent to friends and family, I had Lydia on January 28, 2006. 6 lbs 4 oz and 19.5 inches. She's now about 15 lbs and 26.5 inches.

Hi guys! We just got home from the hospital yesterday and this is the first chance I've had to sit down and post my birth story. Well, as most of you know, I was breech, tried the ECV (didn't work) and was borderline preeclampsia. I was scheduled for a c-section for February 3. This past Friday my doctor called and said that my 24 hr urine test came back elevated and she wanted me to keep a close eye on my bp this weekend since I only had a week left til my c-section. Saturday DH and I were on our way to supper and stopped to check my bp at the store, I had checked it twice since my doctor called and it was slightly high but not anything to worry about. Well, this time it was 177/108 and my DH FREAKED. We zoomed to the base and as soon as we got to L&D I was hooked to everything and the doctors on duty were trying to decide what to do. My bp went down slightly, but then the baby's heartrate dipped from around 150 to in the 80's and all of a sudden it seemed like about 90 people were in the room. Apparently baby was going into distress and they were trying to get me into the emergency maternity OR for a c-section, but didn't want to panic me so the baby would stay calm too. It all got confusing just because it seemed like there were a ton of people asking questions and trying to get me all set up to have the c-section. I got my spinal block done, was strapped down, the curtain was set up and then there was a lot of tugging on my stomach and pressure. It only seemed like 2 seconds had gone by and I hear a baby crying, I didn't even realize it was our baby, everything happened so fast!

Lydia Hart was born at 10:01 p.m. on January 28, 2006. She was 6 lbs, 4 oz and 19.5 inches long. She's got really long feet and a head full of blonde hair. I was in recovery for a while getting stitched up and they had to put me on magnesium sulfate for my BP (evil stuff, I highly don't recommend it) but I feel great now. I get my staples out tomorrow and Lydia is doing wonderfully. She scored 9/9 on her Apgar and was doing great as soon as she was born. I'm on medication for the next 6 weeks for the bp, the doctors aren't sure why it hasn't gone down as much as they like, but I feel fine so hopefully it's just a minor thing.

Thanks to you guys for all your help and support during the pregnancy, I'm looking forward to continuing posting in a parental role now that Lydia is here, it's just so weird not being pregnant anymore. I'll post pictures as soon as DH downloads the digital camera. Thanks again!!

At 4am, Jesse and I were down in Oregon visiting his parents before Jesse was to leave on tuesday for a 6 month deployment. It was Saturday morning and the in laws were getting ready to head to work. I was feeling some very mild period cramps every 4 minutes. I didn't think it was important so i asked my MIL what i was feeling. She woke up Jesse and said, "Kindra isn't doing so well, i think you should take her in." Jesse thought i was having back spazims from sleeping on the couch. Then he saw me double over in pain and that was my first strong conraction. Once coming out of that contraction, Jesse all ready had his shoes on and a bag in hand. We left for the hospital. Still having the cramps every 4 minutes. When we got to L&D i was told i wasn't in labor, i was passing a kydney stone. After the contractions started to come every minute i kicked a nurse and made her check me. She flipped out and ran out of the room yelling "we need a room, baby coming in 10 minutes" I started shaking and craying because i was only 27 weeks pregnant. The doctor came in and told me i needed to try and hold the contractions and not to push until the NICU transfer team got there. They were an hour out. I was then put in another room and shot up with all sorts of stuff. I was 10cm dialted and 100%. But my water had not broke. Jesse was great with me. Keeping me breathing and trying to distract me. He was bawling of course and he refused to admit it. I was also not allowed pain meds at all because it could be bad for such a premature baby. After 55 minutes of dealing with very close and long contractions i told the doc i needed to push. She broke my water and cut me a tad to help with no pressure on the baby's head. I pushed once and baby's head was halfway out. I pushed once more and i heard a mouse cry. Lizzie was so tiny and right when the doc handed her off to the nurses to clean her, the NICU team came in with the incubator and took over. I then didn't see my baby again until 9pm that night. I gave birth to her at 8:07am. We were then in the NICU for 2 1/2 months until she was able to come home. And Jesse was only able to be with us for 3 days then he had to go on deployment which ended up being 8 1/2 months long.. Sucked!

But now Lizzie is A-OK!

I was a week overdue with Sydney. Her EDD was Dec. 19th but thankfully she held out until my husband got home from deployment. My water broke at around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 27th. I wasn't having any contractions, I sat and talked to my Mom on the phone all the way to the hospital. When I got there and got checked in they confirmed my water had broke and then they hooked me up to potosim(don't know how that's spelled) and after being hooked up to that about 20 min. I started having contractions. They were so bad, they would go from nothing to off the chart, usually they kind of ramp up but mine didn't. I wanted and epidural and my husband finally told them when I made it to 4 cm. But by the time they got there and got it in I was ready to push, so they had to turn it off. I went from 4 cm. to fully dialated within 45 min. I pushed for about 5 minutes and then at 11:59 p.m. she was in the world. I felt every bit of the labor and delivery with Sydney but I'm thankful that I had her 3 1/2 hours after I got to the hospital. Everything just went really fast.

My mom had large babies and I knew DD was going to be a big one. To my surprise, my doctor told me I have a little bit of a narrow pelvis! When I heard that, I knew that if I went overdue the baby was going to be too big to come out. I wasn't dilating near my due date so I tried to get my doctor to intervene-she refused to do anything until I was at least 10 days overdue because my pregnancy and health were doing so well. So once I was almost a week overdue, I made her schedule a c-section for the 10th day of being overdue.

On the 10th day of being overdue, I was schedule to arrive at the hospital at 6 am for my c-section. I had been up all night with my mom doing last minute preparations for the baby's arrival and enjoying my last bit of time alone before becoming a Mommy. I had gone to bed at about midnight. At 3 am, I got up to use the bathroom. As I got back into bed, I coughed and had a large gush. I was so mad because I thought I'd peed myself even though I'd just been to the bathroom. Then I started getting scared because I couldn't stop peeing. Finally I realized that 3 hours before I was supposed to go in for my c-section, MY WATER HAD BROKEN! It took 2 hours before I stopped gushing enough (including taking a shower) for me to leave the bathroom and call the doctor who told me to come in before I was supposed to for my c-section. Then I went on-line and IM'd DH to tell him what had happened (he was deployed in Italy at the time).

My mom took me to the hospital, and I decided to go ahead and give a vaginal delivery a try since I had dilated to 4 cm at that point and they said I was contracting (though I didn't feel anything). I walked around a bit, but because I had only slept like 3 hours the night before, I was exhausted and ended up sleeping through most of the labor. I was like, if they're going to want me to push, I need some sleep-I would doze off but wake during contractions. But after massive amounts of pitossin, 17 or 18 hours after my water had broken, I had effaced almost 100% but hadn't dilated anymore. The baby's head was getting pointy, so we went ahead with the c-section I'd been scheduled for that morning, and my baby was born almost 19 hours after my water had broken.

DD wasn't breathing when she came out, so they took her to the other room to work on her without showing her to me. After they got her to breathe, my mom took video and pics of DD with my cell (she'd done it to send DH as soon as we left the OR) and that was the way I got to see my daughter's face for the first time-on my camera phone. lol

DH was able to come home on leave 3 days after our baby was born (leave scheduled before the baby was born) to meet DD and bring us home from the hospital. It worked out pretty well considering he was on deployment...

Oh, and I was right about DD being big. She was 10 lbs 11 oz and 22 inches long.

I have had three so far and on my 4th one now. :inshock yes I know lol.

With my first, it wasnt easy. The hubby was in boot camp and could not come and be with me during it either. So my dad and mother in law stepped in on this one. I had contractions starting by my 34th week. Nothing major really but as I got closer to the due date I didnt progress any really. By my 39th week I was dialated to a 2 and contractions where ver irregular so the doc decided to induce me on my EDD. After 5 hours of waiting 2 hours pushing, and a lot of screaming (no pain meds) Out came my oldest baby boy. Happiest day of my life but my saddest too because the hubby was not there to see his first son born. But he got to talk to daddy his first time on the phone. Hubby got to call that night.

The second one was a bit easier but again I started contactions around my 34th week. No progress just like the other one but I was having her at Bragg in an army hospital so the doctor was like, lets not induce. My EDD with her was Sept 20th, she arrived Oct 5th. I had an epidoral with her so she was a lot easier but it took so longgggg. 15 hours of labor and 2 pushes is what it took lol. After that I had a hard time because some how the epidoral caused me to have drop foot (where it always felt like my foot was asleep and I couldnt walk on it with out falling. I had no feeling in my foot at all.) Of course its a lot better now but still feels numb from time to time. Those getting an epidoral in the future..make sure they flip you accordingly.

The third...My little man Sambo. He was pretty easy. My EDD was July 17th. He came on July 19th by inducing. I was doing the same thing as my other two. Yet again lol. but this time I was in labor for 7 hours so that wasnt to bad compaired to my others. Here I was all prepared to have a baby ranging about 8lbs....and what do I get??? a 5lb 11 oz baby LOL. The doc and me swore he was going to be bigger. He was long 21inches but yeah he was small. But perfectly healthy and fine. Hes the only one I got placed on my tummy right afterwards so we got to bond immediatly. Ever since then hes been mommas boy. The other two favor their daddy over momma lol.

Now im waiting to see how this one is going to go lol. im 27 weeks along now. So not to much futher to go. :D

My pregnacy wasn't very fun. At 20 weeks I tried to go into labor so i had to get a cerglage(sp?). And was on bed rest for 17 weeks. I loved being pregnet but not being on bed rest. I was due Feb 28th but went into labor Feb 13th. Because I was high risk I went to the hospital but was only 4 cm so they sent me how. The morning of Feb 14th I got up took a shower and had some breakfest. I knew that once I got to the hospital i wasn't going to be able to leave for at least a few days. I got to the hospital at 8:30 am and was 7 cm. I almost didn't have any med but when I got to 9 and 1/2 cm I needed something but next time I won't because it slower me down I took the epidle at 10:00 and didn't deliver until 3:35 P.M. But at 3:35 p.m. Valentine's Day 2003 my pride and joy was born 6 lbs 9 oz 19 3/4 inches. And he has had my heart ever since. :yahoo

Well here goes.... My due date was Oct 1 and I wanted him to come early sooo bad. Dh and I were at Walmart on the 23rd of Sept and I bent down to get into my car and I felt a little surge of something and looked and my pants were wet. I had said OH really loud and DH asked me what was wrong and I said I think my water just broke. Well I ran back into walmart to see and decided that it was not enough so we continued on to have dinner with friends. Well that feeling happened two more times by the end of the night and I came home and did a little research and decided if it happened again I was going to call L&D. Well I never called and went to work monday and tuesday. I called my mom and told her about it and she started freaking out and said you need to call your DR. now! So I finally called and they sent me to L&D to be checked. So I sat there for an hour being monitered, having contractions the whole time even though I couldnt feel them. Well the nurses decided that it wasnt my water they said I had a yeast infection TMI sorry. Well I didnt think I did. I had my regular OB check up the next day so I went in and told the DR about what happened and she said im gonna check you agian so she did and said it was def. my water and i needed to go be induced right away. So i called DH and went home and got my bag and said goodbye to my puppy! We got the the hospital at 7 pm on the 27th and they hooked me up to everything and blew three veins trying to start an IV. They didnt check to see if I was dilated until the next morning. They gave me a shot in the bum to sleep and I was on pitocin. At 10 am on the 28th they broke my water the rest of the way...OUCH!!! and at noon they gave me a wonderful drug called Nubane(sp) which didnt make the pain go away it just made me not give a crap...:wacko So then at 2 pm I was finally allowed to have my epidurla but still only dialated to 3cm. BTW I had terrible back labor forgot to mention that.....well finally at likt 8 they said I could start pushing..pused for fiftenn minutes and they told me to stop because my OB had to go do surgery! So I got to sit there for another two hours before they would let me push again and finally at 10:38 pm:boy Kaden Reed came into this world weighing 7 lbs. 6.9 ounces and 19.5 inches long with dark brown hair. I tore a little so I had to ahve stitches and Kaden had a serious conehead since he sat so long waiting for me to push again:reallymad Also his cord was wrapped around his neck and he was a little blue but otherwise very healthy.

Oh boy after reading all of the stories mine is really short and different. I started have really bad back pain on the 21st of janurary 2005, the same nite my DH asked me to merry him. Well he went to bed after that and i stayed up in pain. at about 2 am i got into a cleaning mode and i cleaned and cleaned and cleaned meanwhile the whole house was asleep all but Dude my dog who was stuck to me like a fly on fly paper. everywhere i went he had to be there too. After i got done cleaing the house i decided to do laundry. at about 6 am i was warn out really tired and my water broke but at the time i just thought i was peeing (i was peeing when it happened.) and then the back pain got a lot worse. so i did what i usually did when my back hurt during the pregnancy i went up and took a nice hot bubble bath for about an hour. well it was a lil after 7 when i finally went to my mom for some pain relief. she told me that maybe i should call my doctor. so i did and i had to wait for him to call me back. well he didnt call back til about 9 am. and he told me to come in and get checked out. so i told my mom what he said and she told me to get my DH and get in the car. well when i went and told him we had to go to the hospital he took he dear ole sweet time getting dressed and comming out to the car. meanwhile me and my mom were fighting with tryin to keep Dude out of the car. he wanted to come with me. so finally we are on our way to the hospital when i flet the sudden earge to poop. so my mom told my dh to call 911 and have them meet us in the town 4 miles from my house. so while he was on the phone the 911 operator asked him to take my pants off and to see if there was a head or anything there. well the DH did but his dumb ass just looked at the outside and said nope i dont see one and then he said hunny you need to shave. that made everyone laugh. well by then my mom had parked the car at the four town building and she looked to see if she could see a head and sure enough there it was rite there ready to come out. oh and the whole time the 911 lady told them not to let me push. that was painfull. well finally my mom took over talking to the lady and she said the next time i feel the earge to push to go ahead and push. meanwhile my DH was like i dont wanna be in here for this but my mom gave him the look that if he left the car he was gonna be a dead man b4 he got to be a daddy. so finally i stopped holding in the urge not to push and out she came. there was no need to push at all. about 5 minutes later help showed up. and we were off to the hospital. well I ended up have a lovely daugther who was 3 pounds and 9 onces and 16 inches long, and she was also 10 weeks early. she was the first to be born in my town in like 100 years. she had to stay in the hospital for about 6 weeks and then she was able to come home.

with my oldest son I went to bed at like 11pm on tuesday night (july 1st) having minor contractions. I woke up at 3AM in alot of pain but I was determined not to go to the hospital til I knew it was labor. I was only 18 at the time so I woke my mother up. SHe told me to have something small to eat and take a shower so I did. At about 630AM I went to the hospital and was bored. So when the pain was pretty bad they gave me something called stadol. I was about 3cm dilated at this point. Well that drug made me crazy. I as trying to leave I was yelling at everyone. It was awful and the worst part is I dont remember anything except still crying that I was in so much pain. SO at like 4-430PM they finally gave me the epidural I had wanted all day I was already 7cm. It was so pointless because I delivered at 542PM so I only had some comfort for like an hour. But my son was healthy and was 7 lbs 5oz and 20 in long. I didnt know while I was in labor but the whole time that drug caused my sons heart rate to drop then accelerate and the nurse never told the doctor. So after my son was born I filed complaints with everyone.
My second son I was induced for. I went in at like noon time on Halloween. After they did the paperwork they started me on pitocin I was only 3cm and it was like 230PM. I took the epidural around 4PM because I didnt want it to be like with my oldest. So At 6 they checked me and I was 7cm. I was happy but the nurse said looked like a few more hours. So my MIL and a few other family members were in the waiting room. I sent my husband to send them home we could call them when we were closer to delivery. He got back to the room about 5 minutes later and I said "robbie get the nurse or your delivering the baby" He was like "no Jenn they just checked you" Well I finally got the nurse in there and I was right the baby's head was right there and I was ready to push. About 5 pushes later my son was there. he was born at 630PM. Needless to say we had to call the family after he was born LOL. But both times I only pushed for like 15-20 minutes, so I was lucky. And as long as the baby is healthy you really forget all thepain that goes into it...that is til you go thru it again :)

I went in to be induced Feb 8th at 5:30am they started me on Pitocin at around 6:15 and the contractions weren't that bad. I was dialating about a cm every hour. According to the nurse I was going fast. When I went in I was 1-2 cm and around 4 is when the contractions started getting worse. They gave me phentenol and when I was around 6 cm I got the epidural (lemme tell ya, that was the worst part of the whole experience) IT HURT!!!! Well from 6 to 10 went really fast and around 5:30 I started to push. The nurse said that we would go ahead and start pushing without the dr. because it would be a while and the next thing I know she was calling for the doctor. lol!! I had her at 6:25pm. They had to put monitors on her head while i was dialating because with the pitocin and contractions, her heartrate kept dropping, so they almost gave me a C-section. Come to find out, her cord was wrapped tightly around her leg. Also everyone thought that it was funny because the entire time I was pushing I was watching the news and at one point they were showing some fishing and I told Joey that we should really plan a fishing trip. I'm a wacko. lol!!! Oh and my Mom was in there with us, and now that is all that she can talk about.

My birth story for Ashley:

I was a scheduled C-section.

On Feb 1 at 4:45am we woke up. Got everything ready, the car packed and were saying goodbye to my mom. In the monitor I hear my son start puking :( He ended up with the dang stomach flu....

So we leave. Now I am worried about my son. We get to the hospital and I get checked in and changed into a gown. My surgery was set for 7:30AM. Monitors are put on and they start an IV to get the baby going etc. I had to answer a ton of questions, they shaved my belly and in came the Dr and said he was ready whenever. We were a bit late as it was around 7:40ish now. I walked down to the OR and was put on a bed. The spinal was inserted and then they had me lay down, put a sheet up and in came my hubby. By now the meds were working and I couldnt feel my legs. That was a wierd feeling. I had to focus on something else so I wouldnt panic LOL. Then they said they were starting the surgery because the Dr had been poking and prodding me and I had no idea at all. I could feel a lil tugging and what not but that was it. Shortly after they said ok here comes the baby, lots of pressure, and then I heard my girl start to try to cry before they even suctioned her out. They showed her to me over the curtain (L) and then took her to the warmer and stuff and Rod went with while they stitched me up. I got to kiss her beautiful face and then I was wheeled to recovery. After recovery I was set up in my Post Partum room and they brought her in with me (L) She was born at 8:17AM

My story is pretty boring, but I'll share anyway.

I had a 39 week checkup on Wed. I was 4cm dilated, if I remember correctly. The doc asked if I wanted to have a baby tomorrow. I told her sure, so we checked into the hosp at 6:10am on Thursday, Jan 25. We got everything set up, they did their checking and all, gave me Pitocin, broke my water at 7:45am, checked again at 10am then it was time to get busy. I had him at 10:15am after a few pushes. It's so hard to push while not being able to feel crap, but after about 6 pushes (pretty sure, but who counts?), he was out. He was 8lbs 10.2 (must not forget that .2) ozs and 20.5 in. Where was Kevin? Oh, he stepped into the bathroom when the head was out, so when Jace came out, he was still in there. What a wuss.

Jace caught lots of fluid on the way out, so they drew blood to check for infection. We had to stay at the hosp for 48 hrs from the time they sent the blood out, which was Thurs at 6pm. Jace and I just chilled in the room until they let us out. Man, that second night was terrible. Kid was eating every hr! Whoo! He took everything out of me, so I was actually looking forward to the hospital food. It was actually pretty good though. Yeah, actually it was, actually. hehe I need the bed.

A Baby Story

In the early morning hours of September 6th, 2005, I noticed I
lost my mucus plug when I got up to go use the restroom.
Throughout the whole day and evening I was having mild
cramping-like symptoms in my abdomen area. I had really
never experience Braxton-Hicks before so I totally thought that's
what was happening to me. I then began timing them off and
on, and they seemed to be about 5-20 minutes apart lasting
roughly 30 seconds each. I noticed I was also leaking fluid
which I thought was due to to the loss of my mucus plug. After
changing my undies 3 times, I got smart and stuck a pad into
the 4th pair... LOL!

I paged the midwife on duty who was Carmen, around 8pm. I
told her my situation. She then called Labor and Delivery to find
out the results of my Strep B swab. Since it was negative, she
didn't see a need for me to go to the hospital just yet. She told
me that when my contractions become 3 minutes apart lasting
for 60 seconds to page her back. She also mentioned that I
seemed a lil too cheery for it to be time to go to the hospital.
That kinda offended me since I'm naturally cheery!!! Carmen told
me to page Captain Desantis (midwife) in the morning to see if I
needed to get examined since I was leaking fluid.

Throughout the night Bryan calls to see if everything was going
alright since he was on duty and couldn't be with me. The next
morning he calls me and tells me, "If I come home now, I'm
gonna have to take you to the hospital, since I'm able to leave
work early for that reason." I told him that I really do not see a
need to go to the hospital!!!! Well, about an hour later he shows
up at home. I paged Captain Desantis and then she calls me
back. She tells me that since I'm leaking fluid, it's best to come
in and get checked out. So around 8:30 am, I take my sweet
time taking a shower and getting ready. On the way to Labor &
Delivery at Tripler, we stop off at Jack in the Box so I can get
some breakfast in case I do get admitted. Because once I get
admitted, I wouldn't be able to eat anything.

We arrived at L&D around 9:30am. Since all the exam rooms
were full, we had to wait almost an hour for one to open up. As
soon as we get into a room, Captain Desantis puts a fetal
monitor on my belly as well as a contraction monitor. I get
monitored for a good 20 minutes, then Capt. Desantis checks to
see how dilated I am. At that point she says, "Well right now
you're 3-4 cm dilated, so we're going to admit you." I was then
screaming and laughing "NOOOO!!!" She then says, "NO?!?! Most
women want to get admitted" LOL!!!! I honestly did not feel the
need to go to the hospital!!!! I was handling the contractions to
well!!!!!

So around 12pm is when I get settled into my room in L&D. At
5-6 cm, around 5pm, Capt. Desantis broke my water so that the
contractions could become stronger and closer together. At
7-8cm, around 10pm, I was given Pitocin since I was stuck at
that stage for a good 4 hours. I also requested and was
administered an epidural as well. After the epidural kicked in, I
was feeling so so good!!!!! No pain....NOTHING!!!! I couldn't
really tell I was having contractions unless someone told me if
the monitor spiked up or I could feel the tense muscles in the
abdomen, but other than that, I felt very relaxed.

I began pushing around 3am or so until my lil Ethan was born at
4:10 am. During all the pushing I felt no pain. I could barely feel
pressure either. It was kinda hard because I really didn't know
where or how to push. But after all that hard work, my beautiful
son was here. Overall, my labor from the time I went to get
examined to the time my son was born was a good 18 hours.

Ethan was born on Sept 8th, 2005 weighing 6lbs 10.7oz and was 18.5" in length

NO ONE USE MY BIRTH STORIES AS A EXAMPLE OF ANYTHING!! MINE WERE EXTREMES!!!

Okay, that being said...

Gabe's pregnancy was pretty uneventful until 6 months when I started measuring off, every 2 weeks I was more off. My doctor did 3 ultrasounds, sent me to a specialist. NO one could figure out what was going on. He pretty much stopped growing in his body, but his head was only about a week behind growth wise the whole time. At first, they thought it was a partial molar pregnancy, although with partial molars, the mom is pretty sick most of the time and by about 8 months usually the baby is doing very bad. His heartrate was doing okay, his movements were okay, not great, but not showing severe levels of stress.

At 37 weeks, I had an amnio to check for chromosomal issues. I was terrified to hear that at 37 weeks I may find out that my baby boy, who I had a name for, had a room set up for, might not survive outside my body. I had grief counselors contacting me already and I basically told them where to go. To me, talking to them/going to the meetings was like accepting the worst was going to happen and I would get in contact IF it happened but NOT before that. The amnio turned out fine, no issues, but two days later (on a Saturday) I ended up in the hospital because I didn't feel him moving for almost 12 hours. Turns out that the walking (my parents had come up and my dad thought it'd be "good for me and the baby" to go for a walk, it wore poor little Gabe out and he was asleep the whole time, the moment they strapped the monitor on, he woke up and started bouncing around.) I went on disability leave the day after I was admitted.

Two weeks later, during my regular OB appt, my doctor told me that she was going out of the country for 2 weeks and that I could either come in 3 days later and be induced or wait until she got back and if I went into labor, one of the other doctors in the office would deliver him. Good thing I chose to go ahead and do it.

I went in at midnight to start ripening my cervix...the nurses took their sweet time and at 1:30 she called the hospital to check on me and they said that they hadn't gotten started on me (I was laying there with the monitor on, no IV, nothing...) She yelled at them, that she was 15 minutes from the hospital and that the ripener AND my IV would be in by the time she got there. The morons started rushing around and tried to shove the ripener up me at the same time as they were doing the IV, and then had the nerve to YELL AT ME when I jumped, I just glared at them and said "here let me do this to YOU and see if YOU don't jump." GOD I was pissed by then. But everything got in its place. About 30 minutes later, I started noticing lack of movements from Gabe, and I could see on the monitor his heartrate was going all crazy. 145 to 60, then back up again. My doctor came in and was like "okay we're going in and getting him." Due to his size/growth issues, his little heart couldn't handle the contractions. This was at 2:45, at 3:47 he was born. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks due to having a hard time breathing, regulating his body temp, and his size (he was only 4 lbs 5 oz at birth and got down to 3 lbs 14 at his lowest.) He did have quite a few physical delays throughout the past 3 years, but now at 3 1/2 other than a speech delay (which is also a family thing) he's health and perfect in his size.

********************************************

On to Laney, much shorter, lol....

Her pregnancy was so smooth, at 25 weeks she started showing a bit of the measurement differences, but nothing too severe and she did even herself out. She was also a c-section baby, but a planned one...due to the history and the fact that she had been showing some of the growth differences that Gabe did, my doc didn't want to risk anything. She came out with some breathing problems, but they were cleared up by the end of her first day. HOWEVER, Miss Stubborn refused to eat, breast or bottle. So she was in the hospital for a week after her birth until she finally ate. Now though you wouldn't know it lol, because 10 months later she's a little piggy!

Why would your doctor be so selfish, wanting them to hurry up just so she didn't have to wait around? And moving the birth date around to suit her schedule? That seems really rude to me. But I am not a doc, so maybe there's another side to it?

I don't have much of a birth story! :sadeyes I wish I could have had a normal natural birth but God had other plans!

I went in for my 37 weeks appointment feeling like complete crap. I gained 9 pounds in one week and was on bedrest because of high BP and because my son had a heart arrhythmia. So I went to the doctor and it was it's highest yet 160/90. I knew something was up I felt so bad. So the doctor admitted me to the hospital and told us we had to have the baby today! Landon was due 3/31/06, but came on 3/9/06. When I was admitted and checked (of course no progress!) and hooked to the monitors he was really hard to monitor because of his arrhythmia and because was was so squirmy. My doctor didn't want to give me cervidil he wanted to just give me pitocin and I remember the nurses arguing with him because they said I'd be in alot of pain. Well my blood pressure never did go down and I was just feeling horrible so they decided they couldn't wait any longer. For the safety of my son and I, I had to have an emergency c-section. Landon was born at 6:15 pm and was 7 lbs 8 ozs 19.5 inches long! Pretty big for an almost 4 week early baby!! His arrhythmia went away after birth (they said it probably would!) and even though he was in the NICU for a week with resp. distress he was pretty healthy. Now he's a healthy happy 16 month old boy that I can hardly keep up with!! I know wiht my next pregnancy I'm going to be high risk and have to go on a special diet, but I really am hoping for a VBAC or at least a better birth then my first!!

Well it was a Wednesday night (may 30 2007) and i was at work my back was KILLING me and i didnt think anything of it bc it always hurt because im a waitress. I made people rub my backto make it feel better. I had to close that night and i rememeber thinking im not going to make it. Well the night goes on it got worse and worse and i started to feel sick i was throwing up *which wasnt unusal for me* we got a party of 60 teenagers and i took it with another girl ... she saw how sick i was and in the middle of the party she went up to my manager and told him to send me home because i didnt look good. So i went home and went right to bed. I remember tossing and turning all night and peeing ALOT and my back still hurt so bad. well finally at 445am i woke up screaming in pain i went pee and noticed i was bleeding i was freaking out i thougt something was wrong with my little boy and i would die if that was the case i was so worried so i went and woke my dad up *bc i lived with him at the time because chris was in rehab* and we went to the closest hopsital to me not the one i planed to deliver at. Well the car ride was absolute hell i was in so much pain i thoguht i was going to die i was screaming the whole time and i felt like my dad was going so slow he was actually going really fast running red lights ... we pulled up and there were to paramedics outside they got me wheelchair and pushed me in the ER said to go right up to labor and delivery well i got there got in my little room got changed and at this point it is 5:15am they hooked me up to the monitors put the thing on my tummy to check the babys heartbeat and i was so happy when i heard that he was doing fine the docotor came in and check me looked at the nurse and said i was fully dialated now i was only 31 weeks pregnant so this was not good. They got about 5 nurses for the baby and told me that when the baby comes out there going to have to rush him the nursery and start doing work on him i was so scared and all i wanted was chris by my side but there was no way. They did an ultrasound to make sure he was head down and he was ... which he must of done over night because he def wasnt before i went to bed ... So i asked if they could give me any kind of drugs and they said there was no time i was just going to have to deal with it so the nurse taught me how to push because i hadn't even read the labor part of my what to expect when your expecting book and i did 3 pushes ill never forget my dad saying look you can see the head haha creepy and gross but i thank god he was with me idk what i would of done with out him and i heard the most beautiful sound ive ever heard in my life my baby was crying he was alive and going to be okay ... they showed me him real quick and rushed him away they cleaned me up and then they came in ... my baby was doing great he was 3 pounds 14 oz and 15 inches long he didnt need any help breathing at all which is strange because premature boys usually always need help ... they were going to transfer him to a different hospital so i went to the nursery and looked at him he was the most beautiful thing ive ever seen... i got transfered to the same hosp as him and at about 4 that afternoon i got to hold him for the first time :) he spent about a month in the nicu and hes now 2 months old weighs 9 pounds 7 oz and is 20 inches long and is the most perfect thing in the world ... so that was my CRAZY birth experience.

Mine was a scheduled c-section

Aarons due date was Aug 27th well that came and went. So Dr. Beckman in Fallon Nv decided that a c-section was the best option since the baby (we didn't know the sex at the time) hadn't dropped into place, so he planned on alon with the staff surgon for Sept 2, 2004. Adam and I arrived at the hospital at 0630 that morning to prepare for the arrival of our new baby we were so excited to finally find out the sex since we never new what he was, he never showed us his body parts the whole time! The C-section went great Aaron Anthony was born on Sept 2 at 8:05am at Banner Churchill community hospital in Fallon Nevada weighed 8 pounds 15.9oz and 21inches long...hes the love of our life! heres a pic of him at birth http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v109/navywifecvn70/babybear.jpg

I had my daughter on May 21 2007. my due date was June 5. They had scheduled a C section for May 23 due to the baby being breech. however, on May 19th my water broke. Me being as young as I am, I didnt realize it..I didnt go to the hospital until the 21st because i thought i was peeing on myself. but the morning of the 21st my mom told me that i was in labor, we went to the hospital and they did an emergency c section. which wasnt painful at all, since i was completely numb. but the mixture of medications i was on and eating shortly before surgery made me sick. so with my arms strapped down and my stomach cut wide open i threw up into a tiny container on the operating table. it was very memorable. :)

well i was about 6 days late and my DH was home for r&r while being deployed..so the whole time he was there for 2 weeks nothing was happening to me..until the night before he was supposed to go back i went into labor and he was trying so very hard to stay for one more week..while i was in the hospital he was doing the run arounds trying to get ahold of his commander in iraq so he can stay..and till about 5 minutes before i went into the ER he arrived back w/ good news to hear bad news..he found out he could stay another week , while i was rushed into ER for an emergency c-section b/c my son was in distress and obviously i wasnt dialating for hours and they tried everything..the medicine ball, switching postions, everything..(i was in labor for 20 hours)..scared for my life and my sons and it only took 2 mins for them to take him out..it was scary b/c everyone was moving so fast and yelling to call my dr and the anesthesiologist..ugh..but right when i heard him cry the moment he was out my dh and i were crying we were was so happy and relieved..i dont remember anything after that..all i know is that i woke up in my room and he was right there with his daddy... :) DS was born on august 5th 2006 he was 6lbs. 14oz. and 21in..i was walking everywhere after 2 days..haha...but it took me about 2 weeks to do everything on my own again..very hard time of my life...i would have loved giving birth the natural way but god had other plans for me.... :)

1st baby~Alexis. On dec 22 I started having contx and went into the hospital. They sent me home cause i wasnt dialating enough, Finally after two more trips to L&D I was able to stay and they broke my water Dec24. Within 20 mins of them breaking my water I was ready to push. I pushed for about 15 mins and she was born. I didnt have any meds at all and the dr was going to cut me and didnt realize i didnt have meds and didnt numb me 1st, man did that suck...lol Alexis was born at 12:20am Dec 25 1999(edd 12/27)
7lbs 11oz

2nd baby~ Trinity. On may 11th I was dusting my house and my water broke. My ex dh wasnt home and i couldnt reach him on the cell so i had my neighbor drive me in. They started pitocin right away and then the dad showed up. Again i had no meds, we watched 2 movies and then i was fully dialated and i pushed for about 10 mins and Trinity was born at 9:12 pm 2002 (edd 5/15) 7lbs 10.7 oz

3rd baby~ Christopher. This was kinda cool... I had gotten surprise flowers that day from my ex, he was in Iraq and so i thought it was sweet. But my water broke and my best friend and I were fixing to go to lunch. i wasnt due for another month so my family wasnt there to watch the kids and my birth coach, my other best friend was 7 hours away... I finally found someone to take my other two babies and i headed to the hospital. They wanted to start pit right away but i asked them to wait cause i needed annette there. So they did a really slow drip. Well annette finally made it and they uped the pitocin way high, so high they had to put an iud on the babys head. i wasnt dialating and they said i may have to have a c/s well i told them to give me an epi cause i had read sometimes it can speed things up. Annette told them to wait another hour cause she knew i didnt really want the epi and somehow i fully dialated in that hour. I only pushed thru 3 contrax and then I got to deliver him. ( i saw it on a baby story and wanted to do it) so that was cool, and yucky! but Christopher was born 8/23/03 at 2:30 pm. (edd 9/21) he was my smallest baby, 5lbs 11oz.

this is a long one...
mine all started when i was 34 weeks along..i was sitting on the couch watching strong medicine and all the sudden i felt a twinge then five mins later agian and then agian five mins later that went on for a hour i went and woke dh up and told him and he said it probably wasnt anything i called midwife anyways and she said go to the hospital turns out i was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced well i got two shots of that labor stopping drugs and was sent home at 35 weeks went to dr appt and on the way started noticing contractions every three mins by the time we got back to the midwife and she asked how i was i said im in labor..agian she examined me and sure enough i was 100% effaced and 1 and 1/2 cms so i got stuck in a room with a monitor and was given the shots agian..she then prescribed me medicine just like the shot but in pill form and i was on bedrest for the next week i spent the whole week shaking and freaking out(side effects :giggle ) well all this has a point dh was leaving two weeks after my due date so we figured when i was off bedrest the kid would just pop out...nope he gave up no matter what i did he didnt come out...i did have one time when i went to the hospital but my labor wouldnt progress and i was only 37 weeks so they didnt help it along so i just walked around for the next three days having contractions midwife had agreed to induce at 39 weeks because of dh leaving..so on march 22 we walked into a labor room (woohoo i got to skip triage!) and i got comfy and when she put the monitor on me it turned out i was in early labor i had had so many contractions in the past i didnt even notice! they started pitocin at 7 and i was at three cms at 9. at 930 my midwife came in and broke my water baby was already past zero station when she did that he was already headed into the birth canal i just wasnt dilated enough she asked if i wanted the epi i said please and at 1030 they gave me the shot to numb my back i called my mom figuring i could take a nap after when they started the drip at 1130 i was 4 1/2 cms and i was ready for my nap twenty mins later i felt pain and i called the nurse she said i was 9 cms thats right 4 1/2 cms in twenty mins! i about passed out ten mins later i was ten and ready to push 45 mins of pushing and he was out! and that ladies is how evan came to be! Well I was living with my mom at the time because my husband is deployed and didn't want me living alone. So I was due March 28th 2007. March 25th was my gradmas birthday so we went to the cemetary to put flowers down and i swore i was never going to have my daughter. That night at about 1030 or 11, i dont remember, my water broke. I woke my mom up and we went to the hopsital. I started contractions at 230 and they started fast and back to back. She was born at 8:13 am on March 26th and her dad came in that afternoon from Iraq., He was in ireland when my water broke and they told us he owuld make it for the birth but she just wanted to come out fast.

I had a scheduled C-section. layla was due July 14th but I had the option to pick her date so I picked 7-7...July 7 i thought that would be too cute! Well anyway....lol Well we get to labor and delivery around 5 am...my scheduled c-section was at 8:30 but ya know they like you waiting hours to tear your nerves up. So Me and DH are playing then arguinin in the room I believe about south park something kartman said. lol and we fell asleep. Then i get a knock at 9:00 saying it was time which scared the crap out of me. Well we get down to the operating room and my hubby looked like a dr with his scrubs on and we were joking about that. Then I got my epidural in my back and for some reason it made me laugh. I was laughin through the whole thing. Especially when the dr started shaving my coocoo because I couldnt feel it and my DH was like he shaved you babe! lol Well 9:26am (i believe) My lil babe was born with her leg behind her head and it was stuck there. :suspect She came out looking like the letter l...literally. Then i got nausetated...they told me i had cancer....i cried they knocked me out took my left ovary....I got in the recovery room told me it wasnt cancer and i was knocked out again...next thing i remember i was in my room and they brought me my baby and I fed her.

The End. :)

I guess I will put my stories in here!

With my son, I had been having horrible back pain the throughout the night before, so I basically spent the night in a hot bath. At 9am my contractions started and I called the doc who said to go in. They checked me and I was only 3cm dilated, so I walked for a bit. At 8cm I was pretty uncomfortable, but doing okay, but the nurses and my mother started to push the epi and scare me so I finally took it since they said it was my last chance. That was at 345pm. Then I went from 8-10 in 20 mins, and pushed twice, and out he came. I was due on the 28th but had him on the 16th.

With my daughter, I was due February 12th, but had been dilated to 3cm since January 20th when my doc said anytime now. On my last prenatal exam, on my due date I walked in and my doc said you're still here? I practically screamed at him! So he gave me the option, wait a week see what happens, or meet me at the hospital in the morning for induction. So I said see ya in the am. They started the pitocin at 10, didn't feel a contraction until 12, was doing fabulously until 245 when the ball, and rocker just weren't cutting it, and asked for the epi. Nurse says, anestesiologist is in the OR and has one labouring mom ahead of you. I say well get my something else! She leaves, and NEVER comes back! It's okay. DD came 15 minutes later. 10 minutes of breathing, 5 minutes of pushing. Horrible and wonderful experience all at once. I would do it again if I had the opportunity.

Super short version:

I was past due 3 days. Was in active labor for a lovely 32 hours. My midwife delivered Zoe after 20 minutes of pushing, all natural no epidural. My Zoe bug was 9 pounds 2.2 oz!
I do remember telling DH at one point "Please Save Me!" :lol
All in all it was an awesome experience. I'm glad I was able to labor the way I wanted (yoga ball, jacuzzi, laying different postitions) I'll def. be in a midwife program going natural the next time around. :)

I can post my birth story now!!! Yay!

I was admitted to the hospital at 7am on Nov 15 2007. Got the pitocin going to 8am. I was still only dilated to a 1. At 8:15am my DR came and broke my water. At 11am the contractions were on top of each other and very intense and painful. So I asked for the epi. When the nurse checked me I was only dilated to a 2. I was disapointed in myself for only making it to a 2 before asking for drugs. But I got the epi. The DR who did it was amazing. I never felt anything and it worked perfectly. I was still dilating slowly because of a ring of scar tissue around my cervix. So the nurse would stretch my cervix whenever she checked me to help get me going. At 4:30pm my DR said I was a 5 but when I had a contraction I was a 7. Once I hit 5 it went quick. By 5pm I was ready to push. The epi had started to wear off and I was feeling it all.

The nurse was stretching my perinium with my pushes until I told her she needed to stop cause she was really hurting me. My 14 year old stepdaughter was there watching it all! The pushing was horrible. I was so tired. I didnt think it would ever end. My DR was sitting in a chair in my room watching TV while I was pushing. He would come over every now and then and cheer me on.lol. Finally a few minutes after 6pm I had part of her head out. The Damn DR had the nerve to tell me to stop pushing so he could get ready. After telling me for a hour to push harder now he wanted me to stop pushing.

A couple more pushes later and she was out at 6:09pm. What a relief it was as soon as her body slid out! I tore a tiny bit. Only needed a couple stitches. My mom, Tony and Christine were there with me when I had her.

She weighed 7lbs 13.4ozs and was 20 inches long.

My due date was September 23, 2007. I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia when I was about 33 weeks. I was put on bed rest. My doctor decided to induce me at 38 weeks. It worked out really well because that was during my dh's (then fiance) post deployment leave. On September 10 at 6am, I went into the hospital for the induction. I was 2cm dilated and about 50% effaced. They checked me at noon and I was 6cm. After being in labor for 10 hours they told me that I wasn't dilating anything past the 6cm I'd been at noon, so they told me that I'd need to have a C-section, which I had been adamately against my whole pregnancy. The C-section started at 6pm and at 6:04 my son James Jackson "Jack" was born. He was 8lbs 7 oz and 22 inches long. I couldn't believe he was that big for being 2 weeks early. The recovery from the C-section was pretty rough for me. I'd never had surgery or even been in the hospital over night.

EDD was Christmas but was induced on the 21st so dh could be there for the birth. i really didn't want to have an induction but i really really wanted dh to be there. pictocin was started at 11:00am but they stopped it at 6:00pm since i guess the dr. didn't want to deliver at night. started pict again at 12:00am, got an epidural at 12:00pm, waters broken at 3:00pm, and baby born at 6:34pm. he was 8lbs 0oz and 18.50inches.:smitten

i tore a little. for some reason the epi hurt really bad getting administered, i'd say that was the worst part of everything.

my first child was due on feb 3rd, 2002 and that's the day she was born.

we lived in germany at the time. dh sister was already here and we were going to get his mother from the airport on my due date. it would be the first time i'd met my mother in law.

it was a sunday. we all got up around 6 pm. i noticed my side of the bed was wet and i realized my water broke. since my sister in law already had 3 kids with one on the way at the time, we decided to listen to her when she said it would still be a while before labor starts and contractions would be begin, so we don't need to go to the hospital yet. we all made the 2 hr ride to the airport, and got back home around noon.

i was fine when we got back, i tried to eat some lunch but i wasn't real hungry. the contractions hadn't started yet. i remember i sat on that ball they recommend for pregnant women for a while doing something on the computer. then we decided to take a walk to the playground a couple of blocks from our apartment. i actually sat down on the swing and began swinging. looking back i think that's funny. after a little while we went back home and shortly after the contractions started coming. it was around 4pm.
it didn't hurt too bad, and the contractions were pretty far apart so i decided to take a bath to help with the discomfort. after the bath, they really started to come so then we said we'll go to the hospital, my sister in law still didn't think it was time to go, but she was soooo wrong.

so we left the house around 6pm and made the half an hour to the hospital. by the time i got there i was ready for an epidural, it started to hurt a little more than discomfort. we go there and the nurse decided that since this is my first baby it would still be a while, so she takes her time and tells me the pain i'm feeling is nothing yet, and i should toughen up cause it would get worse. welll she was in for a suprise. she checked how far dilated i was and was shocked. she said it's time to push and asked me why i hadn't come to the hospital earlier.

within the next 45 minutes or so, the doctor had come and the baby was born at 7:19pm. she was beautiful!. she weight 7.7 and was 22 inches.

overall, i think it was a great experience. i thought the pain would be so much worse. i thought when i got to the hospital the real pain was just about to start, i'm so glad i was wrong. i was proud of myself that i had giving birth without any pain medication. i didn't plan on that, but i'm glad it turned out that way. the doctor who delivered my baby was kinda old and used to deliver baby a certain way, so they made me be on my back the whole time. which was bad for me because my back was where i had the most pain. i think that's the only negative thing i can remember.

we left the hospital the same night i gave birth and got home around 10pm.

the due date of my second child was august 23, 2004.

the morning of the 20th, i kept waking up because i felt like i had to pee. after about the 5th time, i thought that was weird. i woke up my dh and told him i think my water broke. he wasted no time getting us and our daughter ready to go. we didn't have family here this time, so i think he wasn't comfortable staying home for awhile by ourselves.

we got to the hospital around 3am and everyone was really nice. they checked to see how far dilated i was and i had to pee in a cup. after that, they gave me a room. labor was ok at first, nothing too uncomfortable . i was planning on having our son without an epidural, like i had our daughter. well, by about 5am i couldn't stand it anymore and i asked for an epidural. i was a little disappointed in myself, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

once i was ready to start pushing, it seemed like forever. nothing was really happening after about an hour and a half of pushing. so we took a little break. i think it was because of the epidural, i couldn't really tell when the contractions were and so the doctor went by what the machine said.
when the medicine wore off a little bit, it was much easier fo me to tell when to push.

our son was born at 9:10 am. he was 10.6 Ibs and 23 inches long.

Due date was March 17, 2008 she came 3 weeks early. Well things could have gone better but things don't go as we hope. I had fallen on Thursday Feb. 21 and was supposed to go to the Dr on Feb 22 but had rescheduled it earlier in the week for Feb 25 which was Monday and that day worked best for me. Well Thank Goodness I had rescheduled for Monday because things could have ended up a whole lot worse. I got to the Dr. Office and the urine show High Levels of Protein and then time for the blood pressure. My blood pressure was 180/100 so after my exam I was sent to L&D to be monitored. My bp didn't go down so I was sent to a normal room late that night until Tuesday morning when my induction would start at 6am. So at 6am Tuesday, February 26, 2008 they started the pitocin, and then at 8am my dr showed up and broke my water which then allowed me to feel the contractions. I ended up getting an epidural because the pain from the fall on Thursday was making my contraction horrible to deal with. With less than 7 ½ hours of labor Faith Jewel was born at 1321. She weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 in long. I was started on Magnesium Sulfate and was on that for 2 days and was hardly able to hold her and if no one was there with me I couldn't hold her at all because my shakes would get bad at times. On Thursday I was moved to Post Partum and finally able to get to hold Faith, but then on Friday Jaundice set in for Faith and so she was put on photo therapy to help it. I was going to be sent home on Friday, but my Dr allowed me to stay for one more day of monitoring so that I could be with Faith instead of at home worrying about her, he didn't mind being given an extra 24 hours to monitor me. Saturday we finally were able to come home and she was weighing 6 lbs 4 oz. She is doing better now and has been a wonderful blessing because she only cries when she is hungry, cold, needs changing, or gets caught up in her clothes. She is so small that even some Preemie clothes, except for the full sleepers, are big on her right now.

My due date was March 29th 2008. My husbands deployment date was set for March 28th, 2008! The brigade commander was going to give him 10 days after my due date to stay with me, however plans got changed and he wasn't going to be able to..so I went in for my 38 week appt to ask about inducing me..the earlyiest they can induce is 39 weeks..so I went in March 22nd to be induced...my cervix was favorable and I was 1 centimeter dialated. BUT she was pretty high still but they were going try anyways..I was put on the pitocin from 0800 till 1600, the doc wanted to wait until I had been on full dosage of Pitocin for atleast 2 hours then he would check me which he did and he said I could stay another 3 hours on it but he didn't think anything would happen so we packed up and left and were told to come in 3 days later..the 25th at 0730 in the morning, and we did. Once we got there they said there was an emergency that I should go home and call back in two hours so i did..they were full all a sudden and they said to call back in another two hours and I did then they finally said they were sorry but once there was a bed they would call me immediatly. so arund 1700 that night the hospital called said they have a room and to come around 1930 so I did and by 2000 I was hooked up to the IV...I knew things were different this time the contractions felt worse and I wasn't even on full dosage...but around 0900 the next morning my water broke however I didn't know it did..I just thought she had kicked or something...but my contractions were horrible!! I needed to go to the bathroom so my husband was helpingme get up with all the wire and I stood up and leaked all over the floor...I said "Hunny that is not PEE!" LOL called my nurse she came in and saw the puddle on the floor and she was sooooo exstatic becaus she didn't want to have to send me home again! She then said HA Your stuck here now! I was soooo happy...got put on the epidural aroiund 1000 and felt fine!!! I went from 3 centimeters to almost 6 in an hour! I was really hoping to have the baby before shift change because I liked who I was working with but 1900 came and went and shifts changed a new doc..some really old man came in and checked me, I was 7 centimeters but my cervix was thickening up and he said Hell have her start pushing..so they got everything ready and arouond 2005 I started pushing, Talk about a work out!!! and 20 minutes later at 2025 on March 26th 2008 my little girl came into the world! I don't consider me in labor until my water broke so I was in labor for less then 12 hours but if yoiu do count the whole thing then it was over 24 hours. Daddy got to spend 5 days with her..his unit thankfully let him stay a few extra days so he shipped out 3 days later then everyone else. it was much but he got to be there for the birth and that is what matters...

3 wks before my due date around 1 in the morning, I started having pains in my left side and puking. I noticed after the third time they were happening every 45 min. I decided to go ahead to the hosp. because I was getting really really sick. Honestly, the day flew by. The doctor broke my water around 4, completely induced my labor with pitocin at 7 and I had Tyler at 7:36. Everyone told me how bad it would hurt and this and that, but honestly, I was so caught up in the moment and trying to wrap my head around what was going on, that it didn't hurt that bad until the doctor told me to stop pushing and then to start again. If anyone reads this and is expecting, all I can say is don't believe the horror stories that people WILL tell you, I heard plenty and came to realize that everyone's experience is completely different.

My daughter (now 12) was born 13 days early. I felt uncomfortable and my midwife examined me that morning and said I was already 5 cm dilated - I went to hospital at 2.00pm, she broke my waters and my daughter was born at 6.00pm. At 8.00pm I walked out of hospital (gingerly, as I'd needed a few stitches as my daughter came out in a big hurry in the end LOL) and went home.

With my son I was awake about 1.00am because he actually hadn't turned himself, he was still breech - and boy that was uncomfortable, but I actually felt him "flip" - I saw my midwife about 11.00am and she said I was dilating nicely and although it was 21 days away from my due date baby would be coming soon. Things started to progress really quickly on the drive home and my former husband and I arranged to meet her at hospital. My waters were broken about midday, and 2 1/2 hours later my son arrived (but driving to hospital I was having 2 contractions a minute! I honestly thought Dylan was going to be born in the car, 6 days before Christmas on a stinking hot summer's day with huge traffic jams - not a nice experience!).

The only pain relief I wanted was the (laughing) gas - partly because if I wanted an epidural I'd need a catheter and a drip in my hand and also to be confined to the bed and attached to a baby monitor and I wanted to be in control of my labour and be able to move around if I so desired. Boy that laughing gas is strange stuff LOL!

My labours were inense and fast, but my pregnancies just awful (morning sickness every day, up to 10-12 times per day and right up until I was in labour, amongst other things), so I was pleased the deliveries were relatively quick and that I was able to go home so soon after my babies were born.

Great thread btw.

well i have two kiddos and here are my stories

with emma:

the docs gave us two due dates the first was 1/8/2006 and 1/1/2006 (they never really figured out which) and i knew that i was going to be having her before the 8th just never knew when...anyways...i started having pre-term contractions sometime before 30 weeks just dont remember..i was in and out of the hospital so much..i dilated to 1cm in a day..and i was given medicine to stop the labor (it worked) and they put me on bed rest

i woke up one morning just feeling terrible cuz i was tossing and turning all night and then i laid back down and i felt a nice big punch down there and i was like...hhmm..i wonder if thats normal..well..i started contracting i thought i just needed to drink some water (because at night you get dehydrated)...DH had already gone to work (he couldnt stay home because there was no excuse yet to not be in for work) and i had to go to the bathroom like..every minute..when the pain got really unbearable i told my brother in law to drive me to the hospital and he did and i walked my way to labor and delivery thinking that well maybe they just need to stop my contractions and early (im 35 weeks and 5 days at this point)

i get up to labor and delivery and they check me out saying im 5 cm dilated and they told me i was going to be having the baby either today or the next day..i was in shock! totally not expecting the baby to arrive early at all...

its aroun 8AM now and im in pain and DH gets there at 9 or so..wondering why its taking so long because its a 10 minute drive from the piers to the hospital...and when a woman is in labor you haul a$$ you dont wait...anyways..

he gets there...i wanted an epidural so bad but when the anesthesiologist got there i was already 9cm and they said they couldnt give it to me...so i said alright..ill deal with the pain

the only place i felt comfortable with was the floor..it was cold and i was getting really hot and really uncomfortable..it hurt...a lot!!

but they made me get back on the bed...and DH left to go get something and in that time frame i was like i need to push...they checked me again and they were like okay well..you have to wait for your hubby right? and i said yea..he better get here in time...

he walks in and im like..there you are!! you want to miss the birth of our baby or something? hes like..howd you dilate so fast..and i said..ask your daughter! i dont know...

i start pushing (no idea what time) and they give me oxygen cuz i was getting really tired and i finally have her at 11:24 AM 6 lbs 3.4 oz 19.5 inches long...

a very early baby..with apnea and bradycardia...she had to be choppered to an army hospital (were navy) because the navy doesnt have a NICU and there she stayed for 12 days until we brought her home :-)

my Tuan Jacob (TJ)

well...here is where it gets complicated...got pregnant 8 months after the first one was born and i told them right off that i did NOT want another pregnancy like my first..it was rough..it hurt..i dont want another early baby...

they told me i could start getting a hormone injected into my a$$ every week to stop pre-term contractions/pre-term labor from happening so me and DH said alright...our EDD is 4/16/2007..like with my first i knew he was going to come before then but didnt know when ^_^

well...everything was fine until we go in to find out the sex of the baby..we find out its a BOY and that our son is also disabled...he is missing his right hand...

NOW...yes of course you start to think that well i had a near to perfect baby and would think that you would have the same thing happen..but NO..never the case...

so we go to another hospital to get the bigger and better ultrasound and we find out that indeed his is missing his right hand...BUT he also has extra water in his brain and in his kidneys

so we have to keep on going back to that hospital to get tested..and to get ultrasounds...sound familiar much?? i have to get 2 stress tests done a week...as well as get a shot in my a$$ once a week

and the water in the brain gets worse...the kidneys are not the issue right now the brain is...but the water in t
