My name is Bianca. I am currently dating an A1C. He's leaving Cannon AFB which is close to were I live, and relocating to Luke AFB, which is 500+ miles away. I am staying here to take care of some stuff and work so I can go with him soon. I'm new to the military and stuff, and I don't know how to deal with not seeing him every day. Any advice and friends would be lovely.

Welcome to SOS, and the best advice I can give when your db is away is STAY BUSY!! It helps so much.

Welcome. Best advice I can give is communicate, communicate, communicate! That is important in every relationship, but more so in one where you see each other so little. It's normal to feel sad, but try not to lay down and wallow in it. I always told the new wives to the command to have their pity party, cry about it, cuss about it, invite a friend to share the festivities, eat that ice cream, whatever they needed to do at that moment to let it all out, but then you get up and carry on. :) We've been through two deployments and spent 2 summers with him in c-school. Once we were on opposite coasts, the other time we were just over 500 miles away. Take advantage of long weekends and rendevous, if possible.
