Tinkle in the cup and then hold the stick into the pee... your directions that came with the test should say how long when dipping. I usually see about 5 secs on the ones I have used. :)

I gave my husband a gift bag with a pair of baby booties in it, and gave him an early "Father's Day" card, because our son was due on Father's day. Also, some tests may fade, but I still have mine, and it hasn't. My son is now almost 20 months old! As far as telling our parents, I sent my MIL and FIL a picture of us holding a sign that said "Congrats Grandma and Grandpa" and my husband was pointing at my belly.
